John Frusciante more than likely has quit the Red Hot Chili Peppers

Check out dat Twitter. This is getting kinda ridiculous, maybe he's intentionally trying to confuse people? Or alternatively, one of the sources could be fake, but which one?
Yes, I'm sure John Frusciante posts 'Fuck Philly".

From his official blog:

December 16th, 2009

When I quit the band, over a year ago, we were on an indefinite hiatus. There was no drama or anger involved, and the other guys were very understanding. They are supportive of my doing whatever makes me happy and that goes both ways.

To put it simply, my musical interests have led me in a different direction. Upon rejoining, and throughout my time in the band, I was very excited about exploring the musical possibilities inherent in a rock band, and doing so with those people in particular. A couple of years ago, I began to feel that same excitement again, but this time it was about making a different kind of music, alone, and being my own engineer.

I really love the band and what we did. I understand and value that my work with them means a lot to many people, but I have to follow my interests. For me, art has never been something done out of a sense of duty. It is something I do because it is really fun, exciting, and interesting. Over the last 12 years, I have changed, as a person and artist, to such a degree that to do further work along the lines I did with the band would be to go against my own nature. There was no choice involved in this decision. I simply have to be what I am, and have to do what I must do.

Sending love and gratitude to you all.

Well hopefully he does some solo touring now. Been waiting to see him perform for years now. The Chili Peppers are great live, but I really want to see his solo stuff.

And if Josh Klinghoffer has replaced John, that sounds pretty good to me. He's been friends with them for a while, and he is John's frequent collaborator, so it seems natural. Hell John probably approved it.

OK, that Twitter indeed looks pretty fake if you look at the couple other posts. Looks like it was registered during the "Hey, let's impersonante famous people/corporations on Twitter" craze. Like I said, I don't really mind him leaving, but I'd probably be kind of sad if this caused the band to call it quits.

I saw him play a few years ago at ATP, it was pretty amazing.

Angry Grimace

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
It's kind of funny, I think a lot of people forget John wasn't their original guitarist either.

tms may sound like they dont know what they do... but they replicate that live - so they do know what they are doing... and playing tmv music live is quite a feet.

i would say that if you play an instrument you start to love tmv because of the skill and crasyness of what they play. if you never touched a drum or a guitar i could see why some of you call it noise from 9year olds...

its like when people say that terry bozzios solo albums sound like a retard is hitting on the drums, or that bleed by meshuggah is easy to play XD

maybe J.F. became a burden for the c.peppers ... have you ever hear him talk? after his heroin days he was on the way down, i think that maybe the band kinda told him that he needs to be fit for recordings and tours and that he just cant do it anymore?...

I looked at that for about 5 minutes before I realized it was a nose...

I find his solo stuff to be a lot better anyways.

Chili peppers always seemed to be a borderline satire band at times to me.

Ah well. He isn't the band.
Really he was dominating the sound and writing from Californication and onward though... To great effect I thought.

With Chad Smith happy in Chickenfoot and Flea working on a sideproject with Thom Yorke, maybe RHCP should just hang it up for awhile.

Yes, which is why it's funny seeing clueless people hate on the newer RHCP albums while talking like John had nothing to do with it and are glad he left RHCP. :lol

His solo stuff is terrible, I thought.
