I think The Thing was a lose/lose situation. The Hulk was bashed for being completely cg, but The Thing's costume is craptacular. I think people would be annoyed at either decision.

Shitty looking movie based on an average comic. When is Marvel gonna learn that not everything that looks good in paper turns out good in real life.

What's next, an Alpha Flight movie? Avengers West Coast The Motion Picture? They should just stick to the Xmen, Spiderman and perhaps a few characters like Ghost Rider and Punisher, but scrapping the bottom of the barrel for a Fantastic Four, or even the rumored Iron Fist movie, is beyond ridiculous.

Yeah, exactly. Both The Thing and Hellboy look fuckin' ridiculous, but it seems like only this shitty costume has received the requisite bashing. Perhaps Hellboy just has more l33t-comic-snob cachet?

I've been doing Fantastic Four again for the past couple days. The Thing's makeup job is really well done. The movie does actually have potential to be good from the few things I've seen.

THING CG WOULD SUCK HARD. Good CG that looks and moves human is hard to do.. Just look at Spiderman and the horrible Blade 2. Heck even the Matrix Reloaded could'nt do lifelike CG.
