JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable OT What a Beautiful Duwang

Just finished DIU. How come in the last fight -
Rohan didn't do shit? Just rewrite what he can do the second you know what's up, bro.

Another thing is that I hate it when characters get he upper hand, so they think it's totally fine to spout exposition for 2 minutes, until the other character can hatch a new plan or recover a bit. Nope, just kill them instead of telling them how lame they are.

Surely Jotaro could have just punched his head clean off or busted a bunch of holes through his torso, right? Eh.

Otherwise 9.5/10 can't wait for part 5.

Just... don't watch anime. Don't watch shonen anime, specifically. These are the things you'll just need to get over, especially if you're watching an adaptation of a 20 year old manga.

Not saying you're wrong, just that you're in the wrong neighbourhood, motherfucker

I watch heaps of anime, dude, chill.

I was just pointing out parts that I found funny. They're clichés that are super prevalent in the genre and I like pointing out how crazy it must seem from an in-universe witness's perspective. I like how characters in Jojo have the time to explain how a stand works as a bullet if flying towards them, it's charming.

If I didn't like anime or the show in general, I wouldn't even acknowledge it's existence outside of responding to somebody. The fact that I can ask such (mostly rhetorical) questions means I'm paying attention, because I love it. It's also because I love it that I talk about it in the first place.

Talking about issues in a show can seem like bitching or complaining, but I do it primarily because I adore it and would like to talk about points that could make it even better than it already is. Anyone who's seen my replies in other anime threads, especially the RWBY ones, will get that haha.

Joseph spent 48 years in America, man. He'd have an American accent by then.

Not true for everyone. My parents have been in the US for over 3 decades and although my dad no longer has an accent my mom's accent and indeed her english is still island af.

I mean, yeah, but it's not weird Joseph's accent changed.

Besides, he was "New York's Jojo" right from the start

Ha, I didn't mean to come off as defensive! I notice that shit too but I feel like talking about it is just an exercise in frustration. Because, yeah, I love Heaven's Door - easily the best Stand in the animated series so far - and moments like that can grate, buuuuuut whatchagonnado.

Jotaro was respecting Josuke "no killing" agenda, also Heavens door might not have worked on Kira cause he might not have read any of his work

Fair point about Josuke, even though he's killed before lol. Also, I figured he could have made something like a circle in mid-air or something before he did it. "Heaven's Door acts when Rohan's target sees it or an image of it drawn by him, which he can make in mid-air, with a pen or with his finger" but that might have taken far too long. Good point.

This is sort of what I mean when I say that spouting exposition and internal monologues sometimes make the pacing uncomfortable though. Sometimes minutes go by with only a few seconds in-universe occurring. Still an awesome part to Jojo though.

Haha, I totally get you. Seeing the same complaints over and over must get grating, but I talk about it because I love it, not to disparage it in any way. Honestly, it's so frequent (especially in Jojo) it's basically a staple rule of the show.

Pretty sure okuyaso even jokes about it at the start of the season. "I'm dumb, explain to me exactly what is happening right now!" Lmao.

After "Let's Go To The Manga Artist's House!", Heaven's Door manifested as a punch ghost so it works totally different. It can just bookify anyone by sliding into them.

Also, the show's over now, don't think we need spoiler tags guys

Theoretically, the punch ghost is still manifested by Rohan drawing in the air. But practically, yeah.

Rohan wouldn't be happy with just drawing a circle, though

actually josuke never kill another human being, the only thing he killed were the rats from "lets go hunting"

i mean your not wrong about the time thing but that's a problem with all manga to anime adaptions

I know that when Kenshiro tells someone they'll explode in 30 seconds in the Fist of the North Star anime, they really do explode in exactly 30 seconds.

Wouldn't
Anjuro Katagiri
have died after like a week from thirst or the inability to pass waste? If not hours after he becomes what he does?

Rohan wouldn't be happy with just drawing a circle, though

I imagine he'd be less thrilled if one of his friends
Detonated from the inside.

Yeah I totally agree. I'd MUCH rather the pacing get awkward every now and again than omit even more information from the manga.

No harm in it, I suppose.

Nah, Angelo and Terunosuke became immortal after being turned into a rock and a book. They're going to be there forever, or at least until the rock/paper wears away.

No, because he was already dead.

There is a tad bit of weirdness in how old Joseph at the end of part 2's dub has an accent and old Joseph at the beginning of part 3's dub doesn't, even if you want to try and handwave it as there still being time between the two.

But it's honestly a minor thing in the long run, given his appearance also significantly changes between the two. It's also understandable, given the part 3 dub was tested first, so it's probably an honest case of them not having settled on him still having an accent or not.
And I guess it's also always possible that they redo those first few episodes with Epcar giving an accent

I'd just handwave that way as a thing that didn't actually happen. The Japanese voice actor for Joseph changed in Part 3, but the airport scene still had Part 2's VA, and it sounded all weird.

The Beautiful Duwang adventure has come to an end. Not my favourite ending in the series, but this entire ep felt more like an epilogue with the previous one being the one where Kira was actually beaten

I just found out the Unit version of Great Days is sung by all the previous people who sung openings for Jojo (Tommy, Coda, Hashimoto and so on)

I can't believe I didn't realize that until now

Same with Stardust Crusaders's second OP. Has all 3 singers... There's even a part where I swear the singer sounds just like Kakyouin's VA.

Its destruction is not specifically shown, but it's implied that it gets blown to smithereens when Kira accidentally re-kills his dad. It doesn't return for the rest of the series, but you'll understand its relevance in Part V.

So what was that deal with that "flashback" of Josuke in the snow helping his own mother in the car?? I thought they were going to loop back around to that in some meaningful way? Was it just a metaphor?

Who knows? But in the end, yeah, it really was just a random guy. Probably someone who got in a fight, noticed Josuke and his mom, and then died in the snowstorm after they left.

It was just a good samaritan
Having it be Josuke is such a dumb idea

I honestly am convinced there was going to be a time travel plot and then someone said "I bet thats Josuke" and Araki said "No! Fuck you thats not what happens!" and thats the end of that story.

Kira uses Bites the Dust so hard he goes back like 15 years, and Josuke is transported with him and its the middle of the snowstorm so Josuke saves himself?

I'd dig it

Clearly it was Prince traveling to Japan to perform Purple Rain.

Josuke may not have kill a human being but he doomed 2 people to live eternally as a Rock and a book. Imo its a fate worst than death, lol Josuke have the potential to be sadistic.

Maaan, still miffed that Hayato got out clean. Araki was really stretching Crazy Diamond's ability to heal. Killer Queen disintegrated Hayato entirely into dust, there's no "staying alive" from that. At least with Okuyasu you can say he was just in a coma.
