July 2014 NPD (U.S. Hardware) Predictions - Closes August 12th

He's referring to this I assume: § For the second consecutive month, PlayStation was #1 in combined home console hardware sales (PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3).

#1=/=more than 50%

edit: 2nd consecutive month, huh? I thought that streak would have ran all the way back to January

Will MS stay silent again?

Im sure they will mention something about the XB1 being their fastest selling console ever, and that sales are up x% on the same period as last month/year/generation

Tbf it's still doing quite well, just not relative to the PS4.

I didn't know FIFA sold that well in the US, or is it just a bump from the World Cup?

So... in the ballpark (based off of Cosmic's hints so far) of around PS4 = XBO + 90k (approximately).

And XBO slightly up compared with last month's weekly sales (around 32 or so this month). Approximately, of course.

sure but it's still accurate. However to be honest I expected it to be at least a bit less horrible than this by now.

I'm sorry, friend, but it's time to let that optimism go. The Wii U is where it's going to be. Things aren't going to turn around.

People want to spend money on games... not enough games to spend money on.

In July, U.S. consumers spent $514.3 million on new gaming hardware, software, and accessories, according to industry-tracking firm The NPD Group. That’s up 16 percent over last year’s $443.1 million.

“Similar to the pattern seen in seven out of the last nine months, strong growth in hardware sales offset declines in software sales in July 2014 while accessory sales had modest growth,” NPD analyst Liam Callahan said.
