There is, in fact, a challenge where you get a bonus for three letter words. So wrestlinggaf could just keep tapping Y, E, and S over and over again.

Well after several attempts and cleanings, I can't get these games to work at all. Not only that but I just found out I had a chance to buy a game that goes for $100+ online, and didn't.

I think I'm done now.

Sorry about that. I hate when that happens especially when you can't test it in the store. I bought Street Fighter Alpha 2 on GOG but it is a trash port. There I go trying to get legal copies of things and NOPE it doesn't work. I even ordered a strategy guide for funs, just to have it in hand.

I did manage to get some sound from Duck Tales and then eventually a playable form but with several black vertical bars on the screen. I've not been able to replicate it.

Yeah, I did that. I also cleaned the contacts with alcohol and q-tips. The thing is the circuit board is a little loose, it rattles in the cartridge if you shake it, but I don't have a tool to take apart NES cartridges to check it.

I'm going to take one of these back to Goodwill tomorrow and hope that I can exchange it for the $100+ valued copy of Wacky Races, but I doubt it's still there. Why, why, why didn't I check that game on my phone?

This one went entirely as expected, the crowd carried it to a shitty DQ finish so Dudleys could win without winning the belts. PCW obviously have a good audience who love what they do, but I'll take a memorable match over a nostalgia act. That's why I'm glad RevPro have been working more with New Japan, rather than relying on the likes of Too Cool & Sting to be an attraction.

I totally agree, at the same time, 10 year old me lost his shit for Too Cool at Rev Pro.

The old BritWres adage of "Get them in the door with imports" isn't entirely without merit. A solid buzz will always win out over that though, see Progress.

At least he wasn't in an actual match this time. He just gave somebody who was talking smack about America a very slow football tackle.

I also see Hornswaggle all the time as he is from my area. He was just in attendance last night though. I wonder if they made him buy a ticket.

Owens' theme is pretty junky, dumpier than his soiled undies and needs a new one. Zayn is minted for life with his shitty ska music, so I'm going with Zayn.

I like Zayn's upbeat theme but Owens' theme is better and can work both as a heel or face theme. Something about KO's theme feels very Brock Lesnar-esque

Owens, only cause Zayn's theme is ridiculous when he's supposed to be serious. Most of the time it's great though.

Hulk Hogan lies. All pro wrestlers lie, of course, and pro wrestling is a lie, but Hulk Hogan is a liar's liar. He's said he was nearly Metallica's bassist and that he had to shoot on (read: beat up for real) Japanese wrestler Tatsumi Fujinami to save the WWE title. His re-telling of his iconic match with Andre the Giant at Wrestlemania III is rife with obvious, gratuitous, easily disproved lies—Andre was 600 pounds, Hogan didn't know if Andre would let him win, Andre died days later.

Hogan has dated starlets he never dated, beaten up bikers he never touched. It's amazing how effortlessly all this comes to him. But there's also something comforting about it. The steady tidal wash of all this untruth has a sort of narcotizing, lulling effect. You shrug and nod along, soothed by its constancy. Hogan the idea is apple pie and baseball, an embodiment of a strain of Boomer Americana which has dominated the cultural landscape for nearly half a century, even as Hogan the Man has descended into self-parody and decline, more so now that he's suing Gawker for $100 million over the release of homemade porn video. The latter transparently believes in the former; the lies are a natural result.
