Is that the number one contender's match that Jeff wins with a quick roll up and Triple H just smiles? I always hated how Trips reacted to losing that match.

I don't mind it so much. He got overconfident and paid for it. Also his reaction could be one of "damn, he might be better than I thought". They were both babyfaces at the time.

Between Benoit, the injuries, and wellness policy violations, summer of 2007 was ROUGH

Not to mention the actual booking. Cena vs. Khali was rough every time they did it. But the first Cena/Orton match at Summerslam that year was good. It actually was a big deal because Orton was booked well and they hadn't gone one-on-one before. Summerslam is where it started to get good again. No Mercy wasn't great though because of Cena's injury.

Quickly caught up on some WWE this week.

Raw:
-Opening Heyman/Rollins/Brock promo
-Divas Revolution segment

Smackdown:
-BAD backstage promo

Sadly, I feel Cesaro, Rusev, Cena, and Owens have already been way overexposed over the past 3 weeks, so I fast forwarded through all of their stuff.

So yeah, I guess I didn't watch WWE for the wrestling at all this week. Got through 5 hours in 30 minutes. The stuff above were the only things that generated high interest. The Divas stuff is interesting me more than anything right now. Becky Lynch totally popped in her Raw introduction. Loved her mannerisms, and that orange hair is really distinctive.

Meltzer on Twitter is saying that as of now, the ROH/NJPW deals are still intact, but that it could change if WWE pushes for an exclusive partnership.

Those motherfuckers. WWE spreading their reach even more and trying to suck promotions dry. :( Just good business, I guess.

I actually think it'd be cool if NXT became an excursion destination for young NJPW guys in the U.S. like CMLL is in Mexico.

To be fair, they haven't done it yet. Meltzer is just saying it's a possibility.

Wait NXT is working with NJPW? As in, WWE/NJPW for the first time in 30 something years? Nice.

Please lead to some great things.

Yes it seems NXT has a deal with New Japan. So don't expect any New Japan guys on Raw.

With this news people are going to expect someone from New Japan popping out after the Balor and Owens match.

I dunno, you never know with the way things are going in WWE. I mean they had Owens go over Cena clean afterall, so pretty much anything could happen. I mean with the right crowd someone like AJ Styles and Nakamaru could fit in perfectly on RAW I feel imo.
