This match is amazeballs:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRm-2loMupM&index=2&list=PLtUuqCYqxkqB5xWRdOcwgH3Loig4imHjH
They just mesh so well together. Dean plays an excellent cocky heel and Seth plays an excellent babyface. The faces he makes, the way he sells, and how he carries himself makes someone like me (an Ambrose fan) want him to overcome the odds and get his first win over Dean and it isn't because I'm supposed to, which is a nice change from the usual. This was their third and most important timed bout they had because it was for the FCW Jack Brisco 15 championship (which, according to my research, was always defended in ironman matches) and it shows that they put everything they had in that match. I'm probably going to go search and see if I can find any more of their matches against each other pre and during NXT because I'm certain they'll be great.
Sorry to spoil this one for you Sblargh :p

How will we see 2014 when we look back on it 10 years from now? Will people even talk about it and have the stomach to watch 2.5-hour Raws when you cut out the commercials?

There will be a whole generation of fans who are nostalgic for 2014 and the "classic" King/Cole/JBL team they grew up on and bitching about Roman Reign's 9th World title reign and how some smaller than average guy who's 16 in 2014 should be World Champ. Oh, and they'll treat John Cena like we (using the royal We) treat Hulk Hogan or Steve Austin. Because just like we bought Hulk Hogan bandannas and Austin 3:16 shirts, they'll have John Cena Fruity Pebbles shirts and wristbands in a box in their attic.

Cena will be presented as the Bruno of his day. Anyways, it doesn't really matter to me how the average fan will regard this era - people still rave about the Attitude Era and wistfully dream about how much better it'd be if things were like that now. That's the great thing about the network, it gives everyone easy access to the stuff they loved in the past, but free of the rose-tint of memory.

I don't think I'll ever forget my deep burning hatred for Cena.

By then, you'll be type of old smark who was still hating on Hogan for screwing over Savage or Perfect in the 80's when he came back in '02-'03 and jobbed to everybody, was perfectly respectable, didn't cause problems, and was largely loved, especially by a generation of fans who had grown up on him, both in WWF and WCW.

I still get the spine tingle feeling of Mick Foley winning his first WWF title :), every single time i watch it, as i did 15 years ago.

I still get the same feeling from the following week's RAW where Austin made Vince lose the #30 spot at the rumble to Chyna :-D.

Oh, don't get me wrong, there's a ton of great moments and a bunch of reasons as to why then was better than now, but looking at the whole thing with the benefit of hindsight also shows how much crap there was in between those great moments.

Just watched the little Batista documentary and is hard not to feel sorry for the guy. He was clearly self-conscious about coming back and he was greeted in the worst way possible.

On the other hand, it was pretty obvious what the people wanted and they all pretended like that was nothing and almost went on with the original plan.

I hope one day they do a documentary about the whole build up to Mania. Everything out in the open. It's one of the most interesting build ups I can think off and it would be cool to see how it all went backstage.

I've felt bad for him since he got a poor-ass reception - and it wasn't anything he did. It was just people being psyched for something completely different. Totally a victim of circumstance - had he shown up now, for instance, things may have been different - or a year ago. Who knows. Worst timing, and WWE being out of touch and not adjusting for that was a shame.

That's why I liked that NXT clip. He still obviously knows how to work a crowd when he is given the freedom to do so. I think a lot of the fans still felt kind of burnt by how shitty the Rock's run last year was and thought it would just be more of the same.

He didn't do himself any favours by being in such bad ring shape when he got back, though.

True. I think most people with their head screwed on straight though recognize that the issue was the booking more than anything, but I don't think we can honestly say Dave had nothing to do with that though either. Who knows what he came back wanting, with regards to what his booking would be like. I'm sure he was pushing to be in the main event at mania, you know?

That said, the way he handled the reaction was solid. He didn't seem to take it too personally, and adjusted to the reaction well.

Just read a great idea for Bo Dallas to get back into NXT. He enrolls in Full Sail and can't get kicked out because he's a Bo-ology student.

Manami-Toyota-Kyoko-Inoue-female-wrestling.jpg

Just finished the Toyota/Inoue 60-minute battle. I think Manami Toyota may have just vaulted into my top 5 based on the two matches I've seen from her now. Definitely in my top 10. Her balance on her springboards, especially when you consider that they are totally unassisted as she just straight up JUMPS onto the top rope and doesn't use her hands, is remarkable. Also, her bridges are perfect. When she BRIDGED OUT of a pin at the FIFTY-MINUTE MARK of this match, after taking a hard bump onto the floor, had me marking out like a fool.

The match was not technically perfect, as there were botched maneuvers as a result of fatigue, but it didn't matter. It also made me realize that we're way too harsh on botching today. It can actually add to a match as it shows that these performers aren't infallible and are capable of making mistakes like anyone else.

This type of match, and these types of performances, just aren't allowed in the WWE today. Personally, I think it's because of Vince's idea that Americans just want to see tits and ass instead of women who can actually legit fight one another.

Once again, full respect to the persistent Inoue and the amazing Toyota.

Yeah, I don't blame him directly. He wanted to come back and WWE made had an awesome contract waiting for him so of course he didn't refuse.

In the end he did adjust himself pretty well, I mean he tapped out at Mania 30. Not many would've agreed to do that. I respect him for that.

We'll catch a glimpse of this in the Self-Destruction of CM Punk DVD.

Punk should just do a real shoot this time around and tell us everything. But he probably won't bother doing that.

Glad you liked the match Alucard, Toyota was just immense for much of the 90s and AJW did drama so well. It helped that the crowds were awesome, too. Definitely check out the hair vs hair match she had against Yamada, probably Manami's most famous moment.

I'm working my way down this list at the moment.

Currently watching a 19-year-old Toyota vs. Bull Nakano. Watching stuff like this makes me sad and annoyed at the shitty quality of women's wrestling on the main WWE roster. It also makes me wonder why Vince doesn't try finding another female monster.

Just had a British Bulldog level of bizarre dream.

I'm in Vegas in what seems to be the future. My room is near the top of the hotel. The person in my room with me? Julia Roberts. And as I'm standing, staring out the window, I see a giant mecha fly by that shatters all the windows of the buildings around. And then I see a missile barely missing a building. I'm asking Julia about this, because they government said they'd never build a mecha that big. She's at a loss for words. Then she vanishes. I decide it is time for me to head back home. As I'm getting my stuff ready, a girl I used to bone shows up with her kid and take over my room because it is easier for them since school starts soon. I'm really not cool with it, but let it slide since I'm GTFO anyway. I get all my stuff ready and head down stairs to the casino. I run into Bateaster (2008-2010 version) who is eating a big bowl of cereal at a signing table. Then I go find my bros, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, who are drunk at a bar with some scrawny punk. I tell them it is time to go home. They get up and Dean lets out a loud JEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZUSSSSSSSSSS on the floor of casino. The whole time I'm worried about what is going to happen since I couldn't find my room key to check out and about if I'm going to have to take that scrawny dude home.

Is it wrong that when I learned the due date of my sister/brother in law's baby is near the Royal Rumble, that the first thing I thought was "if that baby is born that weekend, I gotta figure out how to get back home in time to watch the Royal Rumble"?

I didn't remember Vince McMahon being so bad on commentary. At one time, he called an inverted atomic drop a reverse piledrive [sic]. Also notable, I couldn't even appreciate the hot crowd because of the constant airhorn thing. Jeeesus.

Anyway, I have many complaints about this PPV, but I'm too depressed go over them, what with 1992 falling apart before my very eyes and all. :(

You don't understand. Every year I host a RR party, and we play the RR Game. If 6 people show up, we all draw 5 numbers. You're number represents the same entry into the Rumble. If your guy wins, you win a prize. It's so much fun.

Besides, the baby will be born five hours away from where I live. It's not like I can take the next day off without notice. I really will have to be back home on Sunday. It's just a matter of leaving on time.

Being there at the hospital when my sister gave birth was a very special day to me, at least. You get to see your amazing gene pool going forward without actually having to deal with the responsibility.

I told you to enjoy it while you could. Halloween Havoc is okay, but if you gave GAB a C+, I fear for it. And Starrcade is another Battle Bowl/Lethal Lottery. Survivor Series has Bret vs HBK and Razor/Flair vs Savage/Warrior at least.

No random wrestling fix.
Missing the destiny alpha.
No Netflix.
