I'm sure they will have the venue booked in plenty of time before tickets go on sale.

Backlash and No Mercy are back, and Clash of Champions replaces Night of Champions?

Neat. But that's way too many events. Also Roadblock returning in December is weird given the name is supposed to be a pun on it being a stopgap on the Road to Wrestlemania.

This brand split is going to backfire on them so fucking hard

Eh. I don't think so. It worked well for them previously until they really over stretched with ECW. Plus as others have said, both being live is a big difference.

We'll have to wait and see how different the two brands are going to be, which is I think a key component here... but I look forwards to watching Tuesday night Smackdown instead of RAW, and only checking in with RAW every now and then for the live events etc.

The midcard really suffers with a giant roster all on one brand, imho.

It was the utter shits in 2003 and 2004 so I can only expect the same again.

Some of those RAW only 2003 PPVs are nigh on unwatchable today. Seriously I dare anyone to watch Backlash 2003 and Bad Blood 2003 back to back.

Sonny Onoo is doing more than just hanging out with Ernest Miller. He won a friggin' karate tournament!

Here is my thoughts from the BOA weekend with Ernest Miller.
It has been almost 30 years since I fought in karate tournament. With borrowed Unifom from My martial Arts sister Helen Chung Vasiliadis, I enterd to fight in 60 plus BB Lt Wt division at the one of Largest Open Karate event in the country called " Battle of Atlanta" . Honestly, without almost "0" preparation, I purchased a mouthpiece and got myself ready. What followed was really amazing moment in my Martial Arts experience. The word spread that this old timer was fighting again and my dear friends who are the greatest fighters of my time like Super Dan Anderson, Keith Vitali, Mike Genova, Michael Goldman , Bobby Tucker, James Cook and Rudy Smedley all gathered to cheer me on. All of sudden I realized I was representing the old guards of great fighters....... and no longer fighting for my self. From the energies from my corner, this out of shape karate fighter put together very memorable finals and managed to win the championship🏆.

I would like to thank Ernest for inviting me back to the "circuit" and his lovely wife Kelita Deeter Miller for being a wonderful host. I want to Thank all of the greatest Martial Artist of my time for making me fell that I have never left my "Karate family" so many years ago!

By contrast Smackdown was killing it on a regular basis with well booked feuds and typically excellent main events.

Also not one of those PPV's outside the fucking US or Canada, we would used to have two per year in the UK.

PPV schedule looks fine considering they're brand-specific.

Sd has some wacky shit but it didn't drag like Raw on a weekly basis. The ppvs though lol another story. During that period I only remember seeing mainly the big four if we did dorder ppvs.

Smackdown was doing OK in 2003 and in 2004 was pretty much cemented as its final resting place as truly the B show.

Hardcore Holly was a main star of 2004 Smackdown branded PPVs.

Not gonna lie, it's pretty hype to see Backlash and No Mercy back

The first two that come to mind when I'm like "what happened to PPV names? They used to be so COOL"

The brand split is pretty much tailor made to let fans pick the show they want to watch. Sure, you can try to watch both, but you're meant to pick one and go with that.

Also, looking at the times on the sheet, Summerslam and Survivor Series both start at 7e/4p, like WM. Does that indicate they're both going to be 4 hours instead of three?

I got a proposal for the Draft.

With our normal avs, make a choice by putting the Raw or SD logo on it. Don't be scurred. Just pick one.

Going off topic, the UFC had some great and some outright weird names, before switching tgo just numbers.

Also TNA's PPV's used to sound the like the title's of softcore porn films. These being particularly lol worthy.

Fuck.
I'm going to watch all of this + Takeovers...
I'm guessing Takeovers will be the months that the Big 4 PPVs are.
A PPV schedule should make me happy....

Edit: Just noticed Survivor Series starts at 7...is it 4 hours too???? Ugh.

Summerslam's already been confirmed to be that long, just like last year, so yeah that's fair

Aiii

So not worth it
WWE already oversaturated themselves and splitting the brand's and increasing their live and PPV content is not ever going to be a positive for them. People will start tuning out, feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of content to catch up on and leave permanently.

Who even has time to consume like 8 hours of live wrestling every week or so?

Oh no. Brand specific ppvs... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I knew it was coming, but they didnt have to do it. Im worried about it. If they treat SD with as much love as RAW when the split comes, then Ill be watching all of this. But if SD remains playing 2nd fiddle to RAW, then I probably wont.

If were getting Kalisto vs Miz and main events, thats when ill be noping out of it.

Bryan hosting with Mauro is going to be amazing. Theyre obviously grooming him to bring him up to one of the main shows eventually. That is going to be fantastic.

Don't forget Hardcore Justice, their ECW alumni show. EV 2.0! EV 2.0! EV 2.0!

Mike Hunt was always the go-to for us and it usually worked.
Sort of related, we had a substitute teacher called Richard Head once. When he introduced himself, only me and one other person in the class laughed. He singled us both out and was stern as all hell with us for the rest of the time he was covering.

Not cool Dick Head. Not cool.

Meltzer is probably crying at the amount of WOR podcasts he's gonna have to do.
