Man I didn't realize so many people hated Jurassic World
It got pretty good reviews and everyone I know dug it. It was loud and dumb but a ton of fun.
I hate animatronics
'not about militarized dinosaurs'
Thank God.
Please explain.
Jurassic parks effects dont hold up at all
I need to know if the parents saved their marriage.
YUSSSSI want a clay model stop motion Chris Pratt.
Militarization was naturally the next obstacle to hit after InGen's stunt in trying to control dinos in JP: TLW. Plus, it's so what power hungry humans would do in this day and age if we could.Kind of surprised by the militarized dinosaurs hate. It might not be the most genius premise, but it sounds more appealing and ambitious to me than: "Dinosaurs Eating Innocent/Stupid People on an Isolated Island Part 5".
Same, this was my biggest gripe with JW.I need to know if the parents saved their marriage.
ALL of those things sound awesome and make me excited for JW2. Bring it! Went to a lecture with Jack Horner recently, he mentioned they left out a Stegaceratops from the final cut. Wonder if they'll feature it in the new one...
They were the reason the dinosaur effects in Jurassic Park still hold up today.
Bullshit. The animatronic parts look lifeless compared to the CGI.
-Stop ignoring science and give the Dinosaurs their feathers, fuck people's childhood science crushes everyone belief.
The new heroic dinosaur will be Beijingasaurus Rex.How much Chinese pandering though?

That's why the dinosaurs in JP1 look better than those in Jurassic World, right?
-"We're actually looking at paleoart this time when designing the dinosaurs."
-"Will there be feathers?"
-"¯\_(ツ_/¯"
Oh Colin.
There's nothing wrong with what he said, though. JW already addressed the issue, but people are conveniently overlooking the in-universe reason they gave. Depending on how they introduce dinos in JW2, you may or may not see feathers. And since most of the dinosaurs that were introduced were literally created in labs, it would be odd to see them with feathers. But they could probably explain/handwave that with evolution, or "life finds a way."
Fool me once, etc.
It's clear as day that they're considering feathered animals for the sequel, but he's unsure if it'll happen and therefore isn't committing to it. He certainly didn't dismiss it at all. It's all on ILM and Legacy Effects to cook up some good designs to sell Bayona, Trevorrow and Spielberg on the concept.
And from my understanding, it was Spielberg who felt strongly against feathers in JW.
Yes I think JW2 should have feathered animals, and wish JW had them also. But I think it's silly to pretend like it's it's Trevorrow who's rallying to keep them out of the franchise.
A lot more was also done with the dinosaurs in JW than JP. But I realize we don't give a shit about context as long as we can be super negative toward something new.
"Let's escape to these mountains, it's too cold up there and they couldn't possibly climb all the way up!"I just want my giant land hawks, man. Been watching a lot of paleobiology youtube stuff and it's incredible that there's so much majesty completely untapped.
Some raptors could've potentially scaled vertical walls with their wings. The chase scene writes itself!
"Let's escape to these mountains, it's too cold up there and they couldn't possibly climb all the way up!"
While the protagonists start to climb something watches them from a nearby cliff:

Kids who saw Jurassic World will be threes years older by JW2. A jump from 9 years old to 12 is huge. It's about making the story grow up for them, and it's why he's bringing in a Spanish horror director.
