I highly disagree with the original post. There have been some new bundles, especially a nice and sexy white AC3:Liberation bundle, which I recently picked up.
Anyone who says the Vita has no games is misinformed, a troll or just hasn't paid attention and follows a pack mentality chanting "doomed" memes. The Vita might be selling an underwhelming amount, but it's received a lot of Sony first party support and scored a few nice third party gems, all before it's first birthday.
Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 looks stunning on the Vita. Stunning....then there are other great games (all of which I've purchased) to play:
Uncharted Golden Abyss (WOW!)
MLB the Show 12 (looks and plays really nice)
Virtua Tennis 4 (60FPS direct console adaptation)
Assassins Creed 3 Liberation (still blown away by what Ubi accomplished)
Need For Speed Most Wanted (Criterion in house developed - full open world, console port with day/night cycle and really awesome in your hands)
Little Big Planet Vita (probably the nicest LBP experience available)
Unit 13 (a really nice, mission based TPS)
Rayman Origins (looks beautiful on dat OLED screen)
Wipeout 2048 (looks and runs beautifully, can expand with full HD/Fury campaign DLC)
Gravity Rush (charming and open world kind of JRPG)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus (looks and runs beautifully - very faithful port)
Resistance Burning Skies (mediocre, but great controls really show FPS can work wonderfully on Vita)
Play station All Stars Battle Royale (beta version looks and plays really well, can't wait for retail release - like a SSB in your pocket)
SSD Delta (beautiful and fluid dual stick shooter)
There are also great games like VLR, Ragnarok Odyssey, Dokuro, SFXT, FiFA, Madden, etc.
Upcoming: CoD: Black Ops Declassified, PSASBR, Persona 4 Golden, Killzone (developed by Cambridge/Guerilla), Sly Cooper 4, Tearway (new Media Molecule IP), Soul Sacrifice (Inafume's new project)....
I'm not a Vita apologist, but there really is a lot available all before the system is really even a year old in the west. The system is lacking Japanese centric games, but maybe Sonyis aiming for the West, mad gaming transition toward the west. Whether that payoff in the long run, I don't know...but the system is fantastic and I've been enjoying it more since February. Enough to pickup a white system, in addition to my old black one, which I'll be regifting to a little (young and enthusiastic) gamer in my household this holiday.
I also love 3DS, enough to have bought an aqua, then purple then the XL. I'm not an either or gamer. There is stuff I wanted to play and will want to play on both systems, so the investment was worth it. If everyone keeps sitting on the fence, both systems will perform terribly. If the games are there (I feel they are) buy one and help keep both systems from an early demise. Quit listening to people parrot a sentiment....it would be a shame for Vita to fail, it's just such nice hardware and it has some awesome games that make the handheld transition wonderfully.
