Unrelated anecdote that song reminded me of. I don't know why but early 90's RnB songs just put me to sleep almost instantly. The sound of, how slow some are, I don't even know why. I don't even think the songs are bad.
I once worked on a music video quiz app on mobile and had to cut hundreds of video and write hundreds of questions. Whenever I got to the RnB genre, anything from that time period seemed impossible for me to get through.
