Keep my PS4 or get a Wii U?

I really detest even veering close to "list wars", but what I personally have my eye on off the top of my head:

N++
Ys
Disgaea 5
Helldivers
Until Dawn
Rime

Yeah sorry about asking for a list. Thanks though, it's good to hear about the not so popular games coming out. I didn't even realize Disgaea 5 was a thing.

says hi

for real tho, the WiiU is a must

guys, I'm fairly new in the neogaf thing.

why exactly are people fighting each other over the recommendations they are giving?
If I recommend him a PS4 and I list a couple of reason and someone else point recommends a WiiU, I don't have any reason to be upset with him and try to trash his opinion.

it's not like I have any personal benefit of Sony selling an extra piece of hardware.

Does it always turn this "personal"?

you are still so innocent and pure... RUN

OP, PS4 games:

Order
Ratchet and Clank
Bloodborne
Persona 5 (also on PS3)
Rime
WILD (I don't think its 2015 though)
Uncharted 4
FF Type 0 HD
DMC4 SE
Ys (also on PSV)
Yakuza 0 (also on PS3)
Dragon Quest Heroes (also on PS3)

Last two depend on localisation.

If we ignore the fact that 2/5 of those are actually 1st party games... You are absolutely right. PS4 has plenty of games to look forward to in 2015 and will be a good companion for any other platform.

You literally said this "So is PS4 if you don't like Sony IP's :p"

Then when I pointed out that they have the largest third party support, you changed your argument to having to exclude games that are available on PC. I pointed this out, and then you felt like insulting me.

Not sure how that is putting words in your mouth.

You are ignoring the context completely. Although I don't think anyone really cares to read about this so feel free to follow with a PM if you still are confused.

Selling a PS4 now would be silly. But not getting a Wii U, especially if you're particularly into the games it features, would be silly as well.

Keep you PS4. Wait for a good sale on a WiiU.

This cannot be a serious question. If you are a serious gamer who likes serious games you stick to PS4, if you're a gamer but you still think you're 5 years old then you stick with Wii u. No offense intended.

It has hardly anything to do with that. It has everything to do with you putting words into my mouth.

Either way, this is getting off topic. I still don't see why the OP couldn't just wait and save money to buy a Wii U. They are on sale almost every other week, and they could surely find a smoking deal on one.

If you like JP games, you should keep it, but start saving for a Wii U too.

Otherwise, sell it ASAP, or ship it to my address.

I would say the major PS4 exclusives are The Order, Bloodborne, Uncharted, Rime, Tearaway Unfolded, Until Dawn, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, and The Tomorrow Children. That is more than enough for me.
edit: Oh and Ratchet!

You're just as pathetic as the people you're mocking.

And what's gross? What's gross is the "Nintendo loves me " bullcrap. Nintendo doesn't give any more of a crap about your existence than any other corporation. You are important to them in so far as you provide them revenue. The end.

Lol.

I didn't say Nintendo loves me, just I'm happy with the relationship we both acquiesce to. horse for courses... just stating an opinion on the matter.

There are six in that list, and I wasn't answering your question.

By all means, carry on moving goalposts and creating list wars. I won't be a part of it more than I already was because it seemed like someone was actually genuinely interested in what else was out there.

That's entirely personal and I had (have) my reasons to avoid talking about it. And believe me, I really don't care about what someone thinks about me outside the scope of my questions, especially on an Internet forum.

I'm not reselling consoles ad infinitum. The Wii U was almost a gift. But I miss it, and my PS4 has been collecting dust lately, so the whole thread point circles around this.

But thanks for the answers everyone, will probably keep the PS4.

Didn't see this. Selling your PS4 when it has such a great 2015 lineup would be crazy. There's probably more coming as well.

To me it sounds like you can use the Wii U right now, while you can still buy a PS4 again next year?

Most of the Wii U games you mentioned are out right now or will be out very soon.

Your PC can help you with third party games and once the PS4 exclusive library is a bit bigger you can still get that PS4.

Of course you can just keep your PS4 right now if that's what you really want and get a Wii U later on. That works too ^^

You know guys a lot of this could have just been avoided by linking to the PS4 2015 exclusives thread...

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=946963

Like...that's really all that needs to be said. The PS4 is gonna be an exceptional value this year, and that's just Playstation exclusives there, that's not full multiplats which is even more games.

This year i'd wager to say, will be the best year for PlayStation EVER.

I personally think the Wii U will get a price cut before the PS4 will. I'd keep the PS4 for at least Bloodborne and Order 1886 as you said in the OP and save up for a Wii U for later down the line.

The guy was listing games he was personally looking forward to in response to someone who asked what games were coming out. I don't understand the point of the first half of your post (it's actually 3/6).

Kodiak

Not an asshole.
Wii U is the way to go if you like LOCAL MULTIPLAYER

The best things on Wii U so far are as follows (in no particular order)

1. Nintendo Land: Ghost Game and Animal Crossing - these are really good for friends over + beer. I think they are an underrated experience that is more fun than Wii Sports.

2. Smash U - obvious reasons.

3. Pikmin 3 COOP - the singleplayer game is kinda mehhhh but when you play with a friend, it becomes way more fun. The co-op mode is so much fun, and so addicting.

4. Mario Kart 8 - obvious reasons are obvious.

5. Super Mario 3D World - the single player experience is not as tight or fun as Super Mario 3D Land or Galaxy 1/2, BUT as a co-op / competitive game, this shit is great fun.

6. Rayman: Legends is fun single player, but a lot of fun in co-op too.

As far as single player experiences go, your options are more slim. Captain Toad, Bayonetta 2, Windwaker HD, and like... Lego City Undercover is about all I can recommend.

For me personally though, Wii U is the best console to get for multiplayer, and the PC + Wii U combo feels perfect.

The guy was listing games he was personally interested in. What was the point of mentioning that 3 out of those 6 aren't 1st party games?

It's useful information when you want to determine what an exclusive is worth. For example Sony owns right to Rime. I'm making a strong guess here when I say it won't be available on other platforms than PS4 for the time being. That isn't necessarily the case with some other games that launch only on PlayStation (maybe with some kind of exclusivity deal or otherwise). It's less of a factor when you already own the machine but more so when you are looking to buy one.

That said I'm in the wrong here and I apologize for my shameful display. Tbh I don't even know why I answered to that post in the first place.

I wouldn't sell your PS4, well I wouldn't have upgraded my computer and bought a PS4 at the same time either if I was crunched for money. Though, you have the PS4 now you may as well keep it and use it instead of trying to sell it for less.

If you're that crunched for money that you need to sell it, then you shouldn't get a Wii U either just use the money for what matters.

Just get a Wii U at a later date, what I'm going to do.

I don't think I've ever sold a console. Gotta catch em all!

Anyway, for me personally Bloodborne is easily the most appealing exclusive coming in the next few months on any platform. Your preference may vary, of course. I would personally keep the PS4 and reconsider in a few months time when you can hopefully pick up a Wii U cheaper anyway.

Tell me about all these 3rd party games on PS4 you can't get on PC.

Let's see...

Persona 5
Disgaea 5
God Eater 2 Rage Burst
Earth Defense Force 4.1
Toukiden Kiwami
Dragon Quest Heroes
Bladestorm: Nightmare
Yakuza Zero

And many more. I'm getting sick of posts like yours claiming PC is the be all end all of gaming. Stop being so shortsighted.

Its okay as long as you know you made a mistake. Like sometimes I go overboard on my nintendo criticism.

OP I'm in a similar situation.

Sold my 3DS XL and games to get PS4 games/headset/etc. since I was getting an iPhone 6 plus for portable gaming.

Turns out I really miss my 3DS and haven't been playing much PS4. Now I know it's dumb, but I kind of want to trade in my PS4 for a n3DS and a bunch of games.

My indecisiveness is crippling.

Ha! I actually found this post via Twitter. Juniors gonna junior.

OP: I'd say keep the PS4, and try to find a deal on the Wii U. It isn't exactly setting the world on fire as far as sales are concerned, and it makes sense that a price cut should be around the corner. Or, ask your buddy if he's willing to return the favor. Kids are usually fickle, so maybe his child has moved on already and wouldn't particularly miss MK8.

Those wii u games will still be there years from now when the wii u is cheaper so juzt wait it out.

So will the PS4 games, Anyway it's really up to you, but as many others have stated most of the games on PS4 you can also buy on PC, so you'll only miss the exclusive stuff, If you're fine with that then get a Wii U, If you feel you want the PS4 exclusives more then hold on to it.

Sometimes? You make DragonSworne look like me lol.

In all seriousness though, if OP can keep the PS4 he should. Otherwise he should spring for a Wii U because clearly that's what he wants now. PS4 will be solid this year but Wii U's 1st party lineup is solid now for OP's tastes.

Bloodborne will be better than anything Nintendo will offer.

Now that's one hell of a bold statement. A bit rash doncha think?

I'd advise trying to have both but, if you don't see much appeal in Sony's first party but do in Nintendo's then go for it.

Op also needs to realize that with the cost of Nintendo's software, selling his PS4 and jumping to the Wii U won't net him much.

Keeping what he's got and just saving what little he can towards a Wii-U makes a lot more sense.

The never ending cycle.

I've learned to keep the hardware after I got rid of my 360. Gave it to my cousin because I took a break from fighting games and got caught up in the PS4 hype, but it turns out there was nothing I felt like I really wanted to play until last month. Looking back at the decision, that was incredibly stupid because fighting games was pretty much the only console games I played in the last few years.

If you feel like you'll have any kind of urge to play a game on a system, keep it. If the system is still getting new games in the early-mid life cycle, keep it. There might be new games announced that may appeal to you.

Stop selling, reselling, buying, rebuying consoles.

You are losing money in the long run by going back and forth. Stick to what you have, save a bit more, and buy a second console then.

Otherwise you will be in the same situation once the market shifts again and you want to play a new game you can't find elsewhere.

Pretty much this. Unless you don't plan on getting the PS4 later and just sticking with Wii U and PC. If you don't want the PS4 ever again, then yeah, it sounds like Wii U is the better deal for you.

But if you think you'll want the PS4, I'd save up and just buy a Wii U when you can.
