The album title is a play off of the book/movie To Kill a Mockingbird which is about a black man being wrongfully accused of a crime he was innocent of.

A mockingbird is a harmless and innocent animal, the metaphor being used in the book is that; To Kill a Mockingbird = to kill innocence.

Kendrick album title is a play on that suggesting the innocence of individuals (black men) are being taken advantage of (pimped) and corrupted.
