Papoose took the biggest L by far. Buddens almost took a bigger one, he ain't new school, he ain't an all time great, he wasn't mentioned by Kendrick, he ain't even from NY. Why was he catching feelings? He got into an accidental beef with Styles P. Joey Buttons stays losing.

And he's making all the right moves to cash in on this. This couldn't have gone better for Papoose.

It just seemed so...forced. Sure some of the rhymes were decent, but he came off as too emotional about something that was he never personally addressed at him. And then some of the lines were just cheeks (baby sitting on a man's lap, is that yo baby bottle, your getting cornier than your E-Y-E, dick size)

He must be trying to goad Kendrick into extending these 5 minutes of fame with a back-and-forth.

That shit was struggle as hell. All that passion in his verse and the best he could come up with is a dick size insult, reaching-ass gay jokes based on a baby picture, and the "king of New York/king of my coast" bar flying completely over his head.

To be fair Papoose always sounds like that whether he's legit angry or happy. Thats the way he raps, he has a very agressive Big L-esque style to him. His response is still both hillarious and disporportionate imo. I do believe he is happy to ride the hype train cuz dude aint been buzzing since 2004 and fizzled the fuck out only to release his album a decade later and that shit was ass cheeks.

Thats the state of rap. 10 years ago this would be relegated to a few hip hop message boards where it wouldnt have been a big deal.

Exactly. It's not the 90s anymore but it's like people want it to be. The stuff Kendrick said was prettty fuckin' polite honestly. Only thing a bit biting was the 'king of new york' line but holy shit these dudes are looking salty about it.

Papoose track is awful whether you look at it from a mainstream diss record or an underground diss record angle. And dude is all kinds of back and forth in that interview. "He disrespected New York" really? What did he say about NY or people from NY? Papoose is on some other shit right now for real.
