Good job on this mayor.
I'm...I'm proud of my State?
Let's accelerate this movement. Obliterate admiring relics of Confederates from all public spaces that aren't museums.
No, don't do this. I really don't want it purged like this, denazification wasn't the best solution. This should be used as an educational tool to show where we went wrong.
If this does start a movement, can a mayor allow a group of black folks with sledgehammers do the job to one statue? That would be wonderful.
Denazification wasn't the best solution for who?No, don't do this. I really don't want it purged like this, denazification wasn't the best solution. This should be used as an educational tool to show where we went wrong.

Because Confederate leaders weren't hanged from the gallows like they should have been.Canadian here just a question, WHY THE FUCK ARE THESE STILL UP IN THE FIRST PLACE!!???
Johnson gave them cushy government jobs and a clean slate instead of the noose.Canadian here just a question, WHY THE FUCK ARE THESE STILL UP IN THE FIRST PLACE!!???
Denazification wasn't the best solution lol? If we deconfederized in America like they did in Germany we wouldn't be having this conversation.
plus that gif i a pretty big symbolic fuck you and it's great

I like this, but it makes me wonder how many are left to remove (nationwide). I assume a lot?

America gave high ranking confederates jobs in government and sabotaged the Reconstruction era.Canadian here just a question, WHY THE FUCK ARE THESE STILL UP IN THE FIRST PLACE!!???

Isnt that what books and museums are for? After what these people did to Tulsa, Rosewood, and dozens of other Black neighborhoods, I couldnt care less about their sentimental feelings about Confederate monuments. I hope these monuments being ripped down eats them alive inside. No, don't do this. I really don't want it purged like this, denazification wasn't the best solution. Shouldn't have announced it, should have just done it. Now there'll be a shitshow circus.
Likewise. Flying back to KY tomorrow. Expecting a shitstorm from this. Wonder what the lil Hobbit will say about it.I'm...I'm proud of my State?

You have White Republicans in Alabama and Mississippi who have gone on record saying they support violent measures to stop Confederate monuments being removed in their state.
They were already planning to remove them. The terror attack just moved it up. It's all in the op.So the line that has to be crossed is terrorist attacks in broad daylight, eh?
Until then it's just honoring heritage?

And it takes time and resources to move things like that. They already planned to move them. They are just removing them faster because of today. Again, as the OP states. Or are you mad they weren't removed by dusk today? Were the statues not still up today?
That would be a huge undertaking. Unless they make the lasers in the laser show actually cut away the rock.Wish they'd do it to the face of Stone Mountain, but it brings in too much money for the state.
Still would be awesome to scour it though. Granite prices would drop hard for a bit.
