Yo Attack on titan, I'm really happy for you, I'll let you finish, but Kill La Kill is the best anime of 2013. Show just feels like it has so much more heart. We'll see what happens, but I'm just lovin the drive and strength of the show, and the hate just makes it all the more better

I kind of feel like Little Witch Academia holds that title so far, but we'll see. Wish that one had more episodes. :(

So why was episode 3 screened? Does that happen with every episode or is 3 a special case?

There are a bunch of different screenings and talk events from participating studios at the final weekend of the Machi Asobi festival event this month, so it's just a matter of timing. Since the series already started, screening ep1 again would be boring, so Trigger/Aniplex brought ep3 instead so fans would have something special to watch.

Kyousougiga is better than both.

I showed the first episode to a friend who doesn't really watch anime and surprisingly he liked it a lot. I asked him about the suit and he said that "the breast suspenders and high heels make it look like something out of a porno", which he thought was entirely appropriate for the type of show that it is.

He also thinks that the suit was originally worn by Ruyko's father, since he was the one who made it. I hope he's right. Senketsu-mankini would be the funniest thing.

That'd be pretty great, especially given Sanketsu's description of Ryuko's father in Ep 2.

We saw a suit take that no star scrub and turn him into a one star superman, so it stands to reason that a Kamui might be able to take an old guy and turn him into the same.

great animation and entertaining action scenes.

weird as shit with the sexualization though. from the main character's ridiculous outfit to the teacher opening his shirt and showing off his abs/posing. wtf lol

If you're not ok with the costume now, you probably shouldn't hold out hope for it getting better later. If the opening is anything to go by, the suit will sprout wings and give leg/arm coverings... but the torso is going to stay as is.

The sexualization in the show is both crudely hilarious and awesome.

Going off the scene with the teacher - it's saying "look at how ridiculous this is" and "if you can't get more fabulous than this, don't even try!".

At the end of the day - it's just turning every facet up to 11. If you can't deal with the fact that sexualization is intrinsic to the genre, then maybe it's time to reconsider the kind of media you consume.

Also, anyone know what the song is that chimes in when she's going for the killing blow in the uniform? The hero theme? Shit's awesome.

Judging from the OP, it looks like there are 10 two-star scrub characters in total, from the various sports clubs. They're probably all under Uzu's command, since he's in charge of all the clubs. I certainly hope they speed things up after ep3, and throw more than one of the scrubs at Ryuko in a single episode, otherwise it's going to be really boring after a while!

It's not a licensed song. Just a vocal BGM which is part of the soundtrack. I don't think there's a tracklist with the track titles out yet.

Sometimes I feel like the show creators make the teacher strip for no reason as a feedback to all the people that hate on Ryuko's outfit. Why aren't there more responses of people being offended with the teacher stripping for no reason other than fanservice :p?

I see them as them making fun of characters looking hot after losing the glasses.

Including the teacher stripping was smart. It alters the perception of the show from being a male fantasy that exploits female sexuality to an insane hypersexualized universe where everyone is fair game. To a degree anyway.
The bishonen stripping was a lot more convincing than the argument that the dwarf in Dragon's Crown compensates for its depiction of women.
I'm pretty sure that clown club is gonna be amusing.
An Imaishi show episode about a girl fighting the leader of a clown club is so perfect an idea I might cry.

I see. That impression that Gazoinks posted hints at ep 3 having really good animation and some unexpected twists, maybe a bigger effort than the first episode possibly.

4 more days. :/

But..but THAT BODY. Seriously though, is there a trope in anime where the character becomes hotter after losing their glasses?

And the show makers are smart for including this. It is even more in your face compared to everything else, even to the point of his cloths ripping apart for no reason near his crotch.

I am still waiting for people to get offended from the blatant fanservice provided by the teacher, and how it affects the enjoyment of viewing the show :p

I need to shape up and have a hot body like the teacher o.o

Well the Goku Uniforms being the equivalent of the seven evil exes with gradually crazier and crazier battles each with their own unique rule sets until reaching the final guy...the general casualness with the wackiness and everyone playing by some screwed up code that no one questions....obviously there is a lot different but the structure and tone is there

'bout time someone made a full gif of this scene. I think my favorite part was how he instantly transforms back into frumpy mode. Can't find the gif of that scene anymore, it's now buried in Tumblr. :\

I like that the light glares just continue expanding without stop. Brilliant bit of visual design.

Lalalala, I will not read Episode 3 impressions or watch that preview, lalalalala.

Edit: Shit I watched it. Shieeeeeeeeeeet that teaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

...remember the 80's and 90's?

After all, for a good while sex and violence was kind of the point of bringing anime over!

I can remember the local anime freakout that turned everyone in the area against anime forever. The local news learned that our blockbuster was carrying something called "Naked Mission" (which I now assume was Agent Aika) and that there were sex scenes. I guess BB had rented it to a kid or something, but anyway, the whole "anime is for perverts" thing stuck real hard.
