Also Happy birthday to Colin! Hope he enjoys today, guy is probably my favorite in the biz and one of the more unique, interesting people I know of.

I missed it

Please tell me his dad is actually Tim Murray

I don't know if splitting PS I Love You into it's own thread was the best idea, this thread's pretty dead now.

Well, that's my fault, as I created that thread (I keep linking to this thread within it, though). It started it as a thread just to get people to know that the podcast was announced, but it took on a life of its own. Though, if this thread was over in gaming, it probably would have a lot more traffic. I assume most of the traffic in my thread are people who listened to Beyond, but did not follow the guys to Kinda Funny and either do not know it exists or flat-out do not care.

Funnily enough, I was actually the person who first suggested that someone create this thread (ironically that happened in the thread were it was announced Greg and Colin were leaving Podcast Beyond):
Should there be a Kinda Funny community thread on NeoGAF? I do hope they get their own forums at some point, though. I'd sign up in a heartbeat.

MattyG ended up volunteering to make the thread (fantastically to boot), and created as comprehensive of an original post that anyone can hope.

Ya dun goofed, Ed!!! Either way, as long as one of the treads is active, I'm happy. And yeah, the other thread being in gaming could help. If that thread ever does die, we could look at launching threads for each episode, since there seems to be a few pages a week. I know the GT Time people do that and the Giant Bomb fans too.

To be fair, this thread was way more active prior to Kinda Funny making their official threads over at www.kindafunnyforums.com.

As a personal anecdote, there's nothing wrong with the thread but I simply haven't had time to consume any of KF content lately, so i have nothing to contribute :(

I agree that not being in gaming hurts. Ed, perhaps you could check with a mod to see if a weekly thread would be allowed, like they do for Bombcast? Even just for PS I love you, which would probably get the most traffic. I'm not sure how to get more people involved here, maybe the KF fanbase on GAF is just small?

Yeah, I still watch C&GL every day on my lunch break (I usually don't get through to the end though), and I've been watching PS I Love You because it's fantastic so far, but I haven't listened to Gamescast, Game Over Greggy Show, LPs, unboxings, etc in ages.

I can't even watch C & G because Im at work during the day, video streaming is a no no. And yeah I haven't listened to those casts in a while, though I did queue some old eps up while I was flying recently. Theres just a lot of content and I can't find time to sit down and give it attention. I just finished last week's PS I love you and theres already a new one.

Don't get me wrong - tons of content isn't a bad thing. But I can't listen and work at the same time and when I'm home I like to play games or watch TV so the only chance i get to listen to some of their stuff now is when I go to bed at night for a few minutes

Missed C+G Live yesterday, so thought I'd catch up on it today.

Had to turn it off. Look Colin, I know you have political opinions, I fully respect your right to have them. Interjecting every now and again is fine. But when a gaming talk show becomes more about those opinions than the games themselves, it's gone too far. Don't make it your political platform.

And I'm not even a Democrat. I'm British. No offence, but if I want political insight, I'll go somewhere else for it.

Colin and Greg live isn't just about games, it's about everything, or that's how I understood it.

I think political discussion is fine as long as its not every day

I kind of prefer a podcast hub so people can find past episodes easily. I've been editing the original post by adding in each episode every week. Not sure if you've seen what I've done with it, but I think it turned out well: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1115596

Oh man, then you're gonna hate this coming week's GameOverGreggy Show. I went on so much we split the political segment into two topics. (Topics were political correctness, the far left/right, and why some people hate the GOP and how that affects me.)

Per C&GL, I don't necessarily disagree with you, but when people bring these topics up for us to discuss, I'm not going to shy away from talking about them. I understand where you're coming from, and it won't be everyday, but I'm not going to tell you politics isn't going to come up somewhat regularly with us going into an election season, because that would be a lie.

I am who I am!

I enjoy it, Colin. One of the things I think helps separate you guys from other primarily "gaming" personalities is that you in particular aren't afraid to go into something like politics that doesn't sell clicks as much "new Star Wars trailer reactions! "

As long as there's a balance I think many people would agree it's a breath of fresh air from talking about changing our PSN name

With the new PS4 Twitch app, I'll start watching C&GL more because I don't want to get home and spend my time on a laptop while I was spending the entire day working on computer. Now I can just sit on a couch and watch on a big TV.

Edit: Just watched today's C&GL, I was glad that they pointed out how ridiculous Polygon Mobile article was.

Colin I know your schedule is very tight but have you considered a monthly political show? maybe have some guests interested in politics outside of Kinda funny or have watchers input. I would love to watch this kind of show.

Personally, I don't mind the political talk. The more diverse the topics of conversation are for KF the better, for me. I guess people really care about their political talk and get so defensive to the point where they don't want certain people talking about it, but I don't know anything about politics so I like listening to the KF guys talk about it.

I think I'm going to watch Colin and Greg Live on PS4 for now (the app just came out), at least until Twitch fully switches to HTML. Down with Flash!

Fair enough man. I know this sounds almost hypocritical, but I don't mind political discussion so much on the podcast, because that has more people, more views from different perspectives, more chance for debate. On C+G there's far less opportunity for that.

I'm fine with Colin's political talk as it gives me an insight into the politics of a non-crazy Republican (which rarely makes it to the UK) and I enjoy being made to think about things from a different angle (I'm very left leaning, which in US terms would make me an insane socialist).

The only problem is the other guys don't have the political clout to make it a fair debate. Colin's right that everyone is political and everyone should contribute, but when the only learned political voice in the panel is right-leaning it inevitably skews the discussion.

I don't think the political topics should stop. Sometimes when I'm listening I'm nodding along with Colin and at other times I'm shaking my head and I enjoy doing both, just as I do with real life friends. But I'd love to see a politics dedicated offshoot where Colin is joined by a more left-leaning friend (they're in SF, there must be plenty) so they can have more rounded debate, which I'm sure Colin would enjoy just as much as the audience.

Colin talks of the need of respectful, non-echo-chambered cross party discussion and the Kinda Funny channel would make an excellent platform for that and get their audience to think outside of tribal us versus them politics, but this won't happen in the current format.

Oh, you're posting here! I'd love to know your thoughts on what I said above.

Man, I really hope they do a Paris Games Week thing. I think it should be separate from PS I Love You XOXO because they record on Mondays and the conference is on Tuesday at the same time they typically post the podcast. So, I think they could record a few predictions for the event (or don't mention it at all). Then on Tuesday, maybe they could do a live 30-minute pre-show where they give final predictions and a conclude with a however long post-show where they discuss the announcements. Maybe all four of them can take part.

I played episode one yesterday and bought the season pass. It's really fun even thought I haven't played Borderlands before.

Awesome. I just finished it and im so hyped on it.

I had some fun playing Borderlands 1 and 2 with friends but got bored with them before I finished. Couldn't care about the story so I was pleasantly surprised by this and it's nice that it works on its own

I wonder if they won't have any annoying guests this week on their podcasts, feel like it's been nearly a month since i last watched a GoG show :(

There are no guests on The GameOverGreggy Show this week. However, on the Gamescast (Greg missed this one due to his Nashville trip) they have Aaron Greenberg from Microsoft to talk all things XBOX.

I was all like "owwww fuck you, Colin!", when he was the one who brought up Star Wars, haha. :D (After their little exchange I was unsure myself for a bit). But great episode.

It's really cool to hear Alex talk on the new GOG show about how he's from Wilmington, NC, because that's also where I live! Definitely makes me want to meet that guy one day; as he's describing the UNCW campus, I can perfectly picture it in my mind.

You might've missed this, as it's a thread rule buried in the main post, (and I know this seems weird to ask), but could you perhaps spoiler tag that? Some people don't get to listen to the GameOverGreggy Show or Gamescast until they post it for non-patrons until the following week and prefer to watch it fresh. Just to keep it spoiler free for those who do not wish to be spoiled. Same goes for the Patreon exclusive videos that do not get posted for free.

Tim keeps getting better on the Gamescast. I don't know if there was feedback from the community that he listened to, or if Greg and Colin pointed out some things, but I used to not be a big fan when the gamescast started. Now I love his input, it's increasingly interesting and researched. Maybe I'm just warming up to him without anything changing, but it feels like he keeps getting better at hosting the podcast, and his opinions are very interesting to listen to at the moment.

I agree. He really grew on me and he has improved significantly.

Congrats on reaching Episode 100 of The GameOverGreggy Show. Crazy to think it all started with a topic about which Disney Princesses Tim wanted to sleep with.
