The fact of the matter is that 7 years is a long time to be in development and the political pendulum can swing back at a moment's notice. I get the feeling that ever since KC2 started development, Vavra probably wanted to dodge a lot of the accusations that the woke crowd threw at him in 2018. He probably thought that the climate then was going to be the new normal in 2025 and just didn't want to deal with all that shit again. I can sympathise.

Combine that with publisher demands and probably a bit of DEI money injected into it on the side and it's easy to see how Vavra would be willing to bend the knee to get his pet project over the finish line. What he didn't predict however is the hardline rejection of a lot of this shit in the last couple of years. The rare chud victory seems to almost be the norm in 2025. Too late now to reverse course when the game is coming out next month unfortunately.

It could be lesbian sex, it could be an optional scene based on character choice, could be NPC in game like KCD1 or many other things.

Up to a day ago all the buzz around the game was almost exclusively positive.

And while their mod on the Steam forum going on a power trip is their own mistake (or at least the publisher's one), what sparked the "controversy" (this hilarious moral panic about "being forced into gay sex by the game") is nothing short than mass hysteria.

I agree, but even before this large pushback, those kinds of terms can really only mean one thing. Further, it always inflames the situation, not tames it. These kinds of "community managers" need to go, immediately. IMO.

They must be changing some aspects of the game in relation to Henry. In the first game he was more akin to Geralt in the sense he has those things established.
