Decided to make the thread since tomorrow the reviews will drop

January 24th at 8AM PST

Game Informer: 9.5/10
With higher stakes, Kingdom Hearts III is a lot of spectacle in the best way possible. It isn't afraid to go big, but it also doesn't forget what made fans fall in love in the first place

USgamer: 4.5/5
For all the new in Kingdom Hearts 3, there is plenty of the old too. The action combat is more satisfying than it's ever been, even if it's a tad easy to skate through the main storyline. For longtime fans of the series, all those emotional payoffs that have been building for 17 years await. For newcomers, buckle up: because you're in for a wild ride of bonkers Disney interactions and some exciting boss battles.

IGN: 8.7/10
Kingdom Hearts 3 is a fulfilling evolution and resolution of the franchise that shows it's still full of heart.

IGN Italy: 9/10
Visually stunning, Kingdom Hearts III it's all about being cool while delivering us the best conclusion for a long-time series.

Gamespot: 8/10
Sora, Donald, and Goofy return in Kingdom Hearts 3, and while their story may be hard to follow, it's a fun one to experience nonetheless.

GamesRadar: 4/5
Still madder than a box of frogs, but its magical Disney charms make it worth the long wait

Press Start: 9/10
Kingdom Hearts III takes the series to astonishing new heights. With exhilarating combat, fantastic Disney worlds and a smart approach to an unavoidably convoluted story, it does everything it needs to not only please hardcore fans but anyone up for a solid action JRPG. Against all odds, this might be the perfect Kingdom Hearts game.

GamesBeat: 9/10
The Disney side is still the best side of Kingdom Hearts, and Kingdom Hearts III nails that part. But even it's story, as ridiculous as it is, gives fans emotional moments and satisfaction. I wouldn't say it's better than Kingdom Hearts or Kingdom Hearts II, but Kingdom Hearts III is magical enough to resonate with this big Disney geek.

Polygon: No Score!
Kingdom Hearts 3 ends the series with a whimper

Eurogamer Italy: 8/10
Kingdom Hearts 3 had all the ingredients to shine as one of the best entries in the series, but doesn't seem to find a proper narrative pacing.

Vandal: 9/10
Kingdom Hearts III is exactly what we expected it it be: an amazing game we’ve enjoyed from the very first second to the very last one. We would’ve liked to see a bigger challenge or more relevant extra content, but even so, it’s the perfect closure for an era.

Mid 80's I'm guessing. Day one. I've being waiting a big chunk of my life to see this game released and it's almost here. Resident evil 2 Friday aswell, some good months gaming ahead this year.

sooo god damn hype, but I'm guessing most of the mainstream reviews going to complain about the story being too "confusing" which doesn't really apply to me.

Yah I just had to edit my post after doing a google search

Holy shit
Launches 29th. 25th is Japan only.

However some retailers (outside of japan) were assholes and are already selling the game.

Clever move by Nomura making the epilogue and secret movie post launch lol.

For fans of the series it really dosnt matter. We know EXACTLY what were getting with this.

Ignore the darkness and unlock the power of your heart to decide instead, least you become heartless or worse feel like a total nobody.

Wow I didn't realize either. I couldn't care less personally because playing through KH1 was more than enough for me to know I will never care about these games, but I know the people who like them, REALLY like them.

Do you ever feel like giving yourself a wedgie?

This game has practically reached Duke Nukem Forever levels to me in terms of how long it’s been talked about up until actual release. I swear i remember reading rumblings about KH3 as far back as 2005.

Probably around a 7.5-8.5. Most reviewers are not fans of the series and have no clue what is going on. They will probably mark it down for being "difficult to follow". Fuck 'em. I am hyped and it will be a 10/10 for fans, that I am sure.

I predict between 88-90.

I just hope most reviewers are people who have tackled previous titles of the series.

For the ending chapter, the reviewer must at least have some connection with the franchise in my opinion.

Am I going to have to know how exactly 4,567.34/5 Days and Dream Drop Dildos ends?

Do we know if there’s ANY sort of in game codex or whatever that catches you up on this shit? I’ve only played the original game once like 15 years ago.

Man I swear I was hearing and reading rumors about it way way WAY before 2013. Like mid 2000s at least. Maybe 2006 is a little early

And KH2 did release in 2005. It just didn't come to the US until March 2006

I think most fans thought these secret movies where for KH3.

I've waited for this one for a long long time.
Also I am prepared to cry like a baby as the dark seeker saga reaches the end.

Now about the reviews, it's a weird title to review, especially by someone who isn't a fan of the series as pretty much any criticism about the story should be taken with a grain of salt, I expect an 78-82 metacritic but honestly I hope for 90.

Exactly! I bet you anything 90% of the mainstream reviewers haven't played pervious games.

They definitely haven't I'm sure.

Hardcore KH fans are a fascinating lot. When I went to pick up my Switch the night it released, I guess it was an early release for whatever new or remastered KH game and I swear to god I saw three individual people purchase it and then start bawling in the store out of sheer joy once they had it in their hands.

Not going above 85. It's a KH game post 2 and spin-offs with a long dev cycle and likely rushed areas and assets like FFXV.
You do know games like Birth by Sleep and other "spin-offs" were originally handheld games? So the level design and combat are much more limited compare to console games.

Also the "spin-offs" aren't really spinoffs if they push the story forward and add important lore elements necessary to understanding the next game.

Nikana

Go Go Neo Rangers!
I've heard about some hour long video that recaps everything.

Is that the one that comes with the game?

I just want to ride that train at the Big Magic Mountain/10

Explore the world of Toy Story/10

It's finally out/10

I can't imagine reviews hurting this game at all.

Fans won't care. Even if the game got all 1/10s for whatever inane reason, it will still sell like hotcakes.

I think, I’ve actually bought games more often than hotcakes.
You’re not wrong though.

I would buy this game even if it were titled Kindom Hearts: No Story, just Disney stuff with Questionable Voice acting.

Speaking of, I wonder how long Xehanort’s new voice actor will live after the release of the game. Not a good track record.

On topic: I’m guessing this game will get just above a 7 on Metacritic.

I thought that was an error on Open critics part and reviews won't be going up tomorrow?

Also I am guessing 88 mc 89 oc.

True. In my opinion best games are the ones that doesn’t try to please everybody.

Agreed. I would rather have a unique experience that I may not personally enjoy than some generic "please all" type of game that lacks a soul. It is what separates games like Vanquish from Army of Two.
