'Knockout King' and other crimes are scaring the hell out of me.

I dunno lately going to the movies or even to church with my family scares the hell out of me, getting my entire family murdered because I wanted to see antman is kinda worrisome.

You have more chance of getting your entire family killed in a car accident than being involved in a mass shooting.

Better getting killed for that than going to see Fantastic Four though, trust.

I.......wha......you know what, nah....

Because they're not? I mean how many weeks did you hear about Ferguson or Baltimore on the news? You can't turn on the tv or go on the internet without seeing this. and those things happen within their respective city.

While things like this happen more than once.

Wow....

Some other things you should be approximately as scared about:
-Operation Jade Helmet
-Obama turning the United States into a new Muslim caliphate
-Hillary Clinton having you killed because you know too much about Benghazi

Look, in all seriousness, do random assaults exist as a type of crime? Sure, yes. Is there a new epidemic of them, specifically done by thuggish black kids attacking nice white people? Nope. The whole thing is an urban myth, spurred and spread by latent racism and occasionally flaring up again when an assault actually happens (typically alongside such lovely commentary as "WHY BIAS MEDIA COVER TRAYVON AND NOT THIS")

It's hard to find specific numbers--there are plenty of articles saying "yeah you see one of these every once in a while but it's basically an urban legend" but the only one I could find with a number had one case in a year in Philadelphia, a city which typically has ~300 murders in a given year. This just isn't something you have to worry about.

damn you sound pretty badass

Nah, just lift, exercise, and take combat or martial arts training. Lifelong fan of exercise and training as well as taking kickboxing.

Your average human being has no idea how to fight and is not in athletic shape. Workout for a year and take a year of kickboxing or BJJ and you will obliterate 99% of walking people on the street.

Even that seems unbelievable let alone a group of anyone.

Its really not. Again its not "I'm badass" its most average human beings are not.

I guess you changed your first link? For posterity, it was pointing here: http://www.wnd.com/2015/06/white-family-beaten-shot-with-taser-by-black-mob/

It includes this ad right in the middle of the article:

Get the book that documents racial violence in America, with hundreds of episodes in more than 80 American cities since 2010, where groups of blacks are assaulting, intimidating, stalking, threatening, shooting, stabbing and killing victims.

Classy.

REALLY DUDE?

Man, the number of black people killed by police, unarmed or not, is well into the double digits just this week.

Just... Just stop.

Here. Well I guess since it happened so long ago (10 months), I shouldn't be terrified about whats happened.
No, you shouldn't. There's literally no evidence that these types of incidents happen with any sort of regularity anywhere in the country. Being scared of this is about as rational as expecting to win millions of dollars in the lottery.

You, sir, are the real knockout king.

No, Ferguson and Baltimore are just two outliers. This sort of thing never happens over and over and over.

Read a story about a brain eating fungus a year or so ago. Scared the fuck out of me for a few minutes.

Dude, what. I'm thinking you completely do not understand why Ferguson and Baltimore escalated to the point of getting national attention in the first place.

shadow you're 24 and a minority wat r u doin
I'm kinda sad that you forgot how old I am already and my birthday was just last month. </3

I never said it was an epidemic, and sure the whole knockout game might be a myth, but regardless of the name. it is happening and people have been injured and killed because of it. It's like those flash mob that robbed so many places.

Nah, this is bait. If it isn't, I hope you be never watch 20/20 or Dateline. Those shows will have you scared that your out of control teenage doctor husband is stealing your identity and planning to murder you.

Don't flash your car lights at them.
Lights out is real, one time my ex girlfriend's brother's cousin's friend's mom accidentally flashed her lights at a rap car from going over a speed bump.

She was never heard from again.

Some people say she moved to Oregon but I'm pretty sure that's urban gang code for "sleeps with the fishes".

One set are local assaults without a fatality, where the perpetrators were seen as criminals and usually punished. The other are shootings of unarmed citizens by the police force that exists to protect them, where the officers frequently escape all punishment. If you can't understand why one set of problems gets more attention than the other, you're not thinking very deeply about it.

The name of the driver? La-a.

I understand that its a big issue as well. I never said they weren't as important.

No, you shouldn't. There's literally no evidence that these types of incidents happen with any sort of regularity anywhere in the country. Being scared of this is about as rational as expecting to win millions of dollars in the lottery.
So I shouldn't be scared of this cause it will probably never happen to me or someone I know. Alright, I guess I'll just ignore it.

No I do understand why it got national attention, but why aren't things like this being talked about more?

Most of these crimes have a group of 10-30 suspects. I highly doubt all of them were caught or even identified.
The "Knockout Game" scare is specifically about it being an epidemic. If you know it's not an epidemic, and it's something that barely ever happens, then what are you scared of? Are you also scared of being struck by lightning?
Actually I'm more scared of the mob attack than the Knockout Game.

Because isolated criminal incidents is really comparable to the large-scale protests and riots in entire towns and cities.

Not "as", more. See this quote.

I know you're being sarcastic, but this is exactly what you should do. Are you also scared of lightning strikes, shark attacks, and serial killers? Were you scared of Ebola?

You sound like the old white men here in the heart of SC who like to talk "issues" while secretly perpetuating their agenda.

I get it all the time. "So what do you think of Obama giving Iran nukes?" I was asked this by an old white guy while I was waiting at the autobody shop the other day.

You should check out the statistics for deaths and the type of deaths there are. Worry about the big things that you can affect, and not about the little things that you can't.

I always walk around my neighborhood. I do it for exercise and for steps on my 3DS for play coins.

I walk alone and I always have the irrational fear that anyone else I see out walking is going to come up and jump me and steal my stuff. It's to the point where I will actively avoid going near anyone on my walk. I'll walk through a crowded Little League field because it is full of people. But random lady walking her dog? Holy fuck better lollygag and let her get ahead of me so our paths do not cross.

It is not a race thing. I'm literally afraid of everyone. Even worse if they are in a group.

My greatest fear is to be mugged in front of my house. It is irrational in every way and I know that but it still happens.

I will say that random assaults in my area are not uncommon. Phone thefts have been reported numerous times in the past couple years.

Because this shit is very rare.
I guess your definition of very rare is different from mine.
I know you're being sarcastic, but this is exactly what you should do. Are you also scared of lightning strikes, shark attacks, and serial killers? Were you scared of Ebola?
Lightning strikes and Shark attacks? no. Because those are things where we can't really do much about them.

Serial killers, yes. I mean who wouldn't be. But stuff like this, senseless violent against random unsuspecting innocents, people can do something about stuff like this. That's why I care.

I don't have any agenda, I don't condone random violent against anyone. I just want to see stuff like this being talked about more, so people are more aware about things like this. Maybe bringing awareness to this will help make those people realize that you can't gang up on people randomly and just get away with it.

No joke if this is accurate it sounds like ya need to get in the gym and get some self confidence.

That kind of feeling is something you can easily change.

It might be worthwhile to see a professional?

...Nah just post about it on GAF.

You should sign up for police academy. You sound like a fast tracker

One idea that your posts have given me is for police to simply treat suspects with more aggression, that way they are more likely to be caught. Now, what physical chracteristics have you suggested about the perpetrators could the police use to single out potential criminals? That is a tough one.
