Kojima: Metal Gear Rising is selling well worldwide

I haven't bought this game yet because I really want to beat the HD Collection of 2, 3 and Peace Walker and not to mention 4 all before hand.

Have Kojima's team write the story/exposition, and Platinum handle the action scenes and absolutely everything else again. Rising 2 goty all years.

Whats with the continued hate?

Even I can see why People may love DmC. Why is it so hard to accept that this may be a good game when viewed on its own merits?

Because most gamers are entitled cry babies who hate everyone that disagrees with them, hate any developer that tries something different, and sets unrealistic expectations for games so they can say they were disappointed.

I think if i worked video game retail I would have to quit to maintain sanity because all the whining is too much to bear sometimes.

Not always. Lots of dips.

Yeah, as soon as you start cutting people too much it dips below 30, and if you use the
polearm
too much it's also running way below 60. During general gameplay it's pretty close to 60 though. Still not as good as DMC4 or RAGE though.

The worst thing in video game retail are the guys who work at Gamestop so yeah.

I wouldn't be able to for a while. Unless I can borrow your copy.

I can't even play my damn copy (Damn Job takes over my life sometimes)

But yeah, you need to chill a bit. The OT seems be full of metal gear fans that actually love the ridiculousness of it all.

who knows, maybe you will be converted?

My favourite action game of the generation. It deserves to sell well. Bring on Rising 2.

Not only is this game super badass, the limited edition has the most badass lamp this side of ikea...filled with ninjas that are also on fire.

Mine as well. It has a few problems but brings a sense of style and presentation (especially with music) that's almost in a league of its own.

Rising 2 with Platinum developing from the outset and Christopherson returning to compose would surely obliterate the genre.

I'm pretty sure they Kojima's team did write the story, it was just a story that was heavily tailored towards Platinum's action oriented vision. For them the most important part was getting the game play right and the original interquel script apparently held them back.

Which to be honest I'm glad that they ditched. The game's final boss is worth it alone.

They're just following orders. I'm not going to get mad at clerks because they need to secure a certain number of preorders just to keep their jobs. I GET that. They don't like the shilling either.

I've heard so many horror stories about shitty customers from Gamestop employees that I still have to stand by my statement.

This is awesome, just started playing the game last night and after getting through the first couple of chaps it's well deserved. I want to see more 60FPS ridiculousness awesomeness.

Because this.

No no no no no no no.

This image sums it up perfectly. Unfortunately many fail to see through it to the cover. both my housemates are condemning the game without playing it, one saying the cutting mechanic is gimmicky and the other saying if i can beat it in a weekend it isnt very good for a single player only game.... :(

Uhhh no. You've obviously never been to one of the many Gamestop's full of fanboys who actually rag on you for purchasing a certain game.

I can't count how many times I've had dudebros say "WHY YOU BUYING THIS BRO?" when I buy a niche Japanese game.

I've gotten mocked by GS clerks for buying games on PS3 instead of 360 because "Live is a superior service". This happened when I was buying single player games or PS3 exclusives.

That's awful. You should definitely report them. A friend of mine (who manages a gamestop) told me that the District Managers read all customer feedback left via the url/code on the bottom of your receipt. They want to know which employees are fucking up, especially if its someone who is habitually fucking up and they are looking for a reason to let them go.

Dont get me wrong, I've seen dickish behavior, couple of years ago one employee was yelling that he hopes Sony fails and goes bankrupt to an audience of 20 customers in the store.

Another store manager admitted to me outloud that he only pushes Xbox 360 console sales because he loves it, though he couldn't convert some customers "because they were asian"

Anyhow, I know some employees can be assholes but customers/consumers can be just as awful.

I'm very happy to hear this.

I've loved all their games. Bayonetta was good, Vanquish was amazing, and MGR is awesome.

Platinum is on a roll. Very excited about future endeavors in the MGR series.

I'd rather Kojima not waste his time on side projects like this.

EDIT: I'm gonna wait to see sales figures before putting any stock in what someone on a promo tour says. He's not gonna say it's doing terribly.

It's the first Metal Gear game ever that I haven't purchased Day 1. And I still don't own it, haven't even tried the demo..... what's wrong with me??? Someone tell me or show me one thing (non-spoiler) that as a huge MGS fan, will make me trade in a bunch of stuff to buy it like right meow.

MILITARIZED ROBOT DOG WITH CHAINSAW TAIL. "Bladewolf", if you will.

The War Economy is mentioned within the first 10 minutes of the campaign.

With nothing more than a sword, you fight a Metal Gear RAY in the first 5 minutes of the campaign.

Funny you say that, because this is the best Metal Gear side project that's ever been released. Better than both traditional MGS portable games, better than the ACID games.

Have you played the game?
