Kojima: Metal Gear Rising is selling well worldwide

Cool now have Platinum work on a next gen sequel and give them as much time as they need to make it.

I'd like a bit more enemy variety next time around... Or at least give Platinum more time to make more than one character model. Every soldier used the same character model (bald white guy) even if their left hand ID photo showed them as being black. It couldn't be that hard to recolor a 3D model, could it? Or it's just not that high of a priority given the time they had to work on this, I guess.

Perhaps a sequal will include vehicle sections that they teased like MFers.

after bayonetta, Id rather platinum stay away from vehicle sections.

And I liked the motobike and space harrier missions..........on my first playthrough that is.

You show this game to just about any gamer, and I strongly suspect most of them will find it damn well irresistable.

My new girlfriend was practically salivating....she bought her xbox for kinect games like dance central.

That said, she was also salivating at NG2 too....i think i might of either found my future wife or a total weirdo

I was better at stealth in MGR than I was in MGS3. The Sorrow for me was like playing Dead Rising.
Didn't understand this lol :P

I quite enjoy the traditional Metal Gear titles (even went through the trouble of completing a BBE run in MGS4), but I quite agree that this is one of the best things to happen to the franchise in quite some time. Granted, I do understand that not everyone who likes MGS also likes character action games.
I can't wait to play it since I really like action games too and I liked Raiden in MGS 2 and MGS 4.

I tried the Demo and the only thing that I didn't liked was that the controls were hard to get used to and never discovered how to use sub-weapons lol.

Since this game's announcement, I had hoped it would be the thing that would catapult Platinum into financial success and celebrity. Hopefully this is just the start. Congrats, PG.

Now, everyone remember the studio's name when Bayo 2 and The Wonderful 101 come out.

Anyone else notice the low user reviews on amazon.jp? I'm slightly weary as a Mgs fan.

Those are probably the bitter ones that won't play it because Kojima isn't involved, it's not a stealth game, and they wish it wasn't canon. Ignore them. They're bad people.

Metal Gear Rising is the best game in the franchise since MGS3, by miles.

You don't know what you're talking about. Peace Walker is AMAZING.

Of course he had involvement.

But you're mistaken if you think it was anything significant, especially with Kojima working on the Fox Engine, PW, and MGS5 during Rising's development.

Kojima was the one pulling P* chain to keep them on time, deadline wise. That's pretty significant if you ask me.

And the end of the day, who cares...this partnership worked very well and is deserving of a second round

Nah, waiting for the bargain bin. What I have seen in previews and the demo was enough.

The demo hardly does the game justice... much less the previews. There's so much more to the game than what the demo let's on.

But it's ok, you can continue to ignore such a fantastic game while Kojima, the creator of MGS, highly approves of the game and wants to have Platinum Games make a sequel in spite of your hate towards him wanting to make side games.

Well I'm glad I did my part to support this great game and look forward to the sequel(and other joint Platinum games ventures with other companies after the success of Rising)

Absolutely fantastic news. I didn't doubt it for a second.

There's nowhere to go but up for PlatinumGames if they make a sequel, that means they can make a more refined Metal Gear Rising if they have more money and time to develop it.

Great news. Platinum deserves it.

Pretty much how I look at it, regardless of who makes it (I find it unfortunate that the MGS titles are entirely devoted to prequels at this point, as I would like to see traditional Metal Gear games focusing on people who aren't The Boss, Big Boss, or Solid Snake set after MGS4 as well).

Hmmm... Johnny? Tactical Poop Action

It was very well advertised game. I honestly think this is sort of the best "action" hack n' slash game. I mean Cyborg Ninja is badass.

The game has an involving story and decent post game content? Mirrors Edge is one of my favorite games so it's not all that important to me personally, but this is metal gear...

God, people. Call it action, combat action, character action, whatever. Just stop calling it "hack n slash."

That so.....crude.

Raiden's blade is anything but crude.

Badass game and love it to pieces. It is incredible what Platinum put out given the short amount of time they had, while also trying to salvage a project and vision that was originally carried out by another team. Just goes to show the strength of the studio and I would absolutely love to see a Rising 2 made by Platinum from the ground up in the future.

I agree. MGR is definitely more tactical than any generic hack 'n slash game.

I'm still about halfway through the game so I don't know how tactical it can get, but I am surprised they actually bothered to have legitimate level design in the game instead of one open set piece after another like most other beat 'em ups.

I am honestly surprised they pulled off such a great game considering its troubled development time. Platinum gods indeed.

God damn it. MGR's music burns into your brain.

Now "beat em up"...........

Sub genres are rolling over in their grave.

I actually sing along with the final boss theme every time. It's catchy as fuck.

Great. Excellent fucking game.

As both a major MGS fan and a major character action gaming fan I couldn't be more pleased with this product.

Now get on to making dat next gen Rising please! Metal Gear Rising: The Ripper Returns. #JackisBack #WhiteDevilMayCry #JackChanSoKuwaii

I'd double dip for a "Razor's Edge" Wii U version.
I wonder if Ninty would let them use a Sheik Skin (Highly Doubtful), or maybe Jaffar from Fire Emblem (Still Doubtful).
I love skins to death. TTT2 was a double dip just for that.

Metal Gear Rising 2: Ripper Returns actually works nicely, in terms of alliteration and two R's in the subtitle because, well, it's No. 2.

Alternatively: Metal Gear Rising 2: The War on War.

You're just like me trying to make history

Ripper Returns would be an amazing subtitle. Probably the only thing that could follow Revengence.

Maybe things are changing in the industry? Finally a great, UNIQUE game is getting great sales. Then again, it had a big name behind it and it was actually advertised. I am wondering is this game tampered with DmC sales since they released fairly close to each other?
