Am I supposed to get an indication that HDR content is on? Tried a few Amazon Prime videos that are marked 4K HDR. Interstellar didn't give me any indication that anything had changed when it started. Now I'm starting Rise of the Tomb Raider and I again got no indication that HDR is in affect. The lamp and lightning on the title screen look pretty good so I guess maybe it is.
Should say in top left an hdr video is playing. Started up uc4 on og ps4 and got alert on tv that hdr video was playing.
Who makes the 60?
I looked at a few of them and the bottom left on each was much brighter than the rest of the screen.
Also when I did the white screen test on one of them, the left part of the screen was all yellow.
Mine indicates when hdr game/video is starting. You have it game mode?

You can select PC as the device when editing to source name and then select ok and it'll swict hto PC mode, but i'm not sure if it works with HDR content.

Made it chapter 10 in uc4 and hot damn. Just amazing visual experience.

Yea the 60 is a different panel, but i hope i get lucky with my panel. The price was too good to pass up. I've looked at some display panels at frys electronics. They looked pretty good.
Just curious, how much would it cost if you bought it in Canada?

Yeah. Game mode is on. HDR+ is off. HDMI UHD color is on. HDR is set to automatic on my PS4. I'm never getting any indications from my TV when I boot HDR games on my pro though. Light sources all appear to be bright in RotTR, but I'm not sure.

I thought Tomb Raider didn't have HDR? My tv tells me when I start uncharted or LOU.
Mine also doesn't notify me when I start a HDR video on Netflix. But its supposed to automatically change your backlight to 20 if an HDR video is playing.

Edit:zero issues.with my aao2 tv model here. Only some pillar lighting that's normal with the display.

Note this isn't how bad it looks in real life. Infact, with the bias lights on behind my TV I can hardly ever see it at all.

You know people here are into the specs. A lot of us just want to get the most out of, and especially make sure we don't regret, an expensive item. I mean this is a thread just for settings and details, of course things like clouding or judder or lightbleed in different angles are going to come up when people's first stop is Rtings half the time. If it's of interest to anyone I don't see why any of it is too extreme. I like the idea of just buying a TV and finding settings I like, but I need to go deeper, lol. If I'm paying over 1000 for something I want to know it's favorite color and what famous person it would want to have dinner with.
Posted last night about a colour banding problem I'm having with my set......Gears of War 4 is the worst culprit. Having done a bit more reading I believe it could be more of a posterization issue rather than banding.
Do any experts out there know if posterization can differ from set to set? Or is it just a limitation of the technology? Blacks and dark colours seem to suffer the worst on my TV.

I know what blooming is, but i havent seen it much on this set. My last led tv had blooming, so that was moved, and we put up a panny plasma that is awesome. We still use it.
This tv does much better with blooming compared to other tvs we've had.

Just grabbed a 55 inch from BJ's for 979, wish I could just go pick it up but apparently they have to ship it but for the price (I hope it's good) I didn't wanna miss it.

When people are paying £1000/$1000+ up for a TV, you'd expect there to be no fault at all, even if it is just a single dead pixel.

No that's it lol. The average price in the U.S for the UN55KS8000 (UK 7000) is $999. Those of us who got the EPP deal paid $729.

Yes we 100% are, especially since the OLED black friday price is at a staggering 2299$, which is insane.
I know the input lag problems, but I feel LG will fix it.

It's a bit difficult for me to get used to Warm2 (especially my wife) We've been looking at cool screens for 10+ years. Will give warm2 a try for a week, but if it doesn't feel right, then I am switching to warm1. No sense in forcing oneself to not enjoy picture quality just because it is an industry standard...Do what's best for you!
Bottom line, I don't think there is any right answer to having the perfect settings. We all see differently, each panel might be slightly different, lighting in a room is different for everyone....etc Use what you like, but try to educate yourself as well

Is that the 65"? The 55" B6 will be ~$1750 here on BF. The 55" KS8000 will be ~$1390.
I'm really worried about the high input lag, though. Not sure if I will be satisfied with it being so high, and I think they would've fixed it by now if they planned to. Probably won't see it fixed for the 2016 models. That's why I might go for the KS8000.. But aaaarrgh.. I really want OLED.
Well nothing beats OLED, but ks8000 has it's own problems apparently with jagger.

I had the same dilemma and I ended up getting the KS8000. IMHO LG will most likely not update the 2016 models in an attempt to sell 2017 models.
That's my thinking as well.
Are you happy with your KS8000? Any issues? Judder, motion blur, clouding, light bleeding, etc?
PLEASE tell me how NORMAL cable looks on this tv, Especially Fast moving sports like Hockey!

I haven't noticed any, and I'm pretty sensitive to it. I had the JS7000 for a little while and it was bugging the crap out of me.
I don't think the set has any judder issues. it's a 120hz native set so pull down judder isn't really an issue and for anything else like television, Netflix etc the judder elimination features are working great.
Speak for yourself. On PC at ~40ms gaming with K/M was very noticeably leas reactive than 20ms. That's me personally but it was enough to make me sure I'd be very uncomfortable on an OLED for gaming and graphics work. I was making quite a few more mistakes in fine movement with brushes, selection tools etc in Photohop until I switched back to game mode.
I mean I'm sure anyone can get used to it after a while. But it certainly isn't great for competitive play.

I only game on it so my use of KS8000 is limited. The major thing for me is the viewing angle. The color gets shitty when watching at an angle. Overall it's a pretty average TV and it's best selling point is low input lag. If you can get it for a cheap price, I say go for it (I got mine for $750).
That's crazy to me calling it an average tv, this is considered one of the best high end tvs that are non OLED on the planet.
Calling it average, scares the living hell out of me.
I think you just made my choice for me, anti up the extra money and go OLED
