I really want something akin to Bad Romance / Just Dance / Poker Face, though.

Hopefully some some of the other tracks will pleasure me. Electric Chapel in particular sounds that way, and some of the lyrics from Bad Kids that have been released (I'm Beautiful and Dirty Rich, I'm still a free bitch") kind of get me excited too.

I'm sure overall I won't be disappointed. Gaga has so far got 2/3 from me. =D

So far everything that I have heard off of this album has been rubbish.

I think Gaga has become a victim of her own hype.

I guess from now on i'l be hearing gaga's songs in mall elavators and not nightclubs :(

Lady Gaga will release “The Edge of Glory” as the third single from her upcoming album. The Fernando Garibay-produced track was originally released as a promotional single to start the iTunes countdown to Born This Way, due out on May 23rd. However, the singer decided to make “Edge” the official third single from the album after it topped download charts in more than 10 countries and received rave reviews from critics and fans.

“The Edge of Glory” will be officially sent to American radio next Tuesday, a day after the release of the next countdown single, the RedOne-produced “Hair.”

I can't even force myself to like what I've heard from her new CD. Why did she change her style to something so ew? Boney body, skulls, religion, and giving birth to heads? I want to go back to Poker Face times. I guess she has out grown my interests. :/

I really do feel that her unreleased stuff (Marry The Night, Electric Chapel, Government Hooker to name a few) will be really good old-school Gaga-esque tracks.

It could be some kind of marketing thing where she pulls in new fans with the newer and different sounding tracks to her previous stuff, while also having some classic stuff on the actual album for the usual (almost 100% loyal) fans.

I really have high hopes for the three tracks I've mentioned plus a few others that I have no idea about thus far. Everything we've heard in snippets and teasers through both Gagavision and the recently held listening party still give me faith.

Either way, the live show will be fucking epic and incorporate both the new stuff (which I honestly don't find all that bad) as well as the old stuff (that is sure to pull in heaps of the peopel complaining now). And she'll have a shitload MORE money on top of that too, so we'll see hopefully a more extravagant show.

The ENTIRE standard edition of the album will now be streamed on METRO's website on May 18th.

British Gaga fans will be able to listen to the album five days early, with all 14 tracks being streamed on the site from Wednesday May 18th.

The Judas singer has continually teased her 'little monsters' with details of the release, leaking lyrics, cover art, behind-the-scenes videos and the album's track listing via her Twitter account.

Now fans will be able to enjoy Lady Gaga's much-hyped second album by heading to metro.co.uk/gaga, where the tracks will be streamed on a specially-developed microsite.

Metro.co.uk will be the only place UK residents will be able to listen to the album in full before its official release.

Jamie Walters, Metro's Executive Director – Digital, said of the announcement: 'We are delighted to be working with Universal to give Metro.co.uk users such a fantastic exclusive.

'Many of Metro.co.uk's users are already huge Lady Gaga fans, so this is a perfect fit.'

I'm almost certain a leak will be happening at some point in the near future. Not that I condone such things.

It's a week! You'll have Hair within four-five days to tide you over too!

Edge of Glory is the first song from this album I've liked so far. Born this Way is just boring, and Judas is a mess. It may be the most traditionally pop song out of the three, but you know what, its the best song.

We'll be able to hear the full thing by Wednesday at the latest anyway. (That's next week, not this week. Damn timezones and people being back in time. =P)

What's up with her writing in this album. I mean I know songs like Pokerface, and Just dance aren't exactly Lennon but I always though there was an ironic edge to them. Stuff I've heard in this album reminds of mid 80's shit you hear in movie soundtracks.

Has anyone seen this yet?!

Laurieann Gibson (GaGa's creative director/choreographer) admits to copying Madonna

A lot of her visual aesthetics have been compared to Madonna. As her creative director what are your thoughts on that?

Listen, [Madonna] should be bitter because I did it on purpose, and you can quote me. I did it on purpose because for all those kids who believe that you can’t, I wanted to let them feel that you can. And that’s what I represent, that’s what Gags represents. That’s what this movement represents.

What the fuck, right? How do you defend this? GaGa needs to drop this bitch.

Didn't you see the video for BTW? She wasnt hiding the Maddona 'tribute' between the lines.

But I agree, sack Laurie Ann. Not because of this quote but I've never been a fan of hers. She comes across as taking stuff too seriously, instead of coming off as tongue in cheek.

So many conflicting messages.

Gaga('s management) should just admit that she's using Madonna's textbook to fame: appeal to the gay community, dress shockingly, use religious imagery to cause controversy, change looks regularly, .. I'm still waiting for the moment we all get to see Gaga's sniz. The copying shouldn't extend to the music though...

People keep referencing "Classic Gaga" or how her prior stuff is better than her new stuff, and it's kinda surprising to me. The Fame is way overrated; aside from Paparazzi and a couple of others there's absolutely nothing special (or "Gaga") about any of those tracks. Pokerface gets way more praise than it needs, and Just Dance is a standard mediocre top 40 club track. No thank you. When I think of Lady Gaga's best work I think of Born This Way and Bad Romance. And so far all three BTW singles rank among her best five tracks.

I've been a fan of hers since that video was put up of her performing on Perez Hilton's site, but I didn't think any of those songs were anything special, they were just decent pop songs. This new stuff is where it's at. Edge of Glory is fantastic.

I agree with you. I've stated several times that I find Just Dance and Pokerface enjoyable, but nothing too special. I do like Paparazzi and Lovegame a lot though. The rest of The Fame is ...yikes. The Fame Monster was short, but had a decent direction: Bad Romance, Monster, Alejandro and Telephone are all good songs.

I can see both Judas and Edge of Glory being part of TFM. Judas is reminiscent of Bad Romance (but less good), and Edge of Glory has an eighties feel that a song like Monster also has (but again, Monster does it better, without porno-saxophones to skank it up). Born this Way is utterly horrendous though.

"Classic Gaga" doesn't exist. She's been in the business for a about 3 years, and has released 1.5 albums. You can't really expect her to keep on releasing those previous 3 mega-hits she had, but in a different package. But I think many people don't necessarily want a new Bad Romance when they say want a new Bad Romance. Most probably just want a song as good as Bad Romance was. High expectations... :)

That new promotional image cements my theory that she has been referencing ORLAN recently. It took me forever to remember what the Born This Way "look" was reminding me of.

Honestly I feel like if Judas came out before Bad Romance then it would have been an instant classic; it's obviously modeled in the same vein as Bad Romance but has a sicker beat; isn't as defining a song as Bad Romance but who cares.

I love Monster but I don't think that song is anything super special. I don't get why you think Born This Way is horrendous aside from the polarizing background noises in the song, but the chorus is super well-crafted and catchy and it's the only song that's consistent with her imagery and message. It shouldn't be the only one, but it is. For that reason I put it on a different level from her other tracks.

Diff'rent strokes.

I like Monster's verses and bridge a lot. That's how you do an 80s throwback. The song unfortunately loses steam with the chorus. I could've been so much more, but instead it's merely good. I think I've expressed my opinion on BTW more than enough now, so I don't want to sound like a broken record here. But I don't think it's catchy (but perhaps that's because I've actively avoided the song so that it doesn't get caught in my head). I don't consider it well crafted. And I couldn't care less about imagery and message, I just like music and not all the hoopla surrounding it.

But after reading your posts, I don't think our "best off" lists of Gaga songs would differ all that much actually. :) (Unless you're a big fan of her unplugged/ballads stuff. I'm not keen on it.)

This cd is really going well for me personally. Love the songs, the videos have been stunning, her live show was spot on, and there's so much more in the works.

The Farmville thing is bizarre, but I suppose it's a weird way to get to the middle aged woman audience. One of my best friend's mom is head over heels for Gaga and is an avid FV/FB player so there you go.

Great time to be a Gaga lover. Rolling around in the Unreleased Collection as I type. =)

Yeah, I like her unplugged stuff but I wouldn't say they're her best stuff. At this point my three faves are Born This Way, Alejandro and now Edge of Glory. Bad Romance, Judas and Monster are up there too. From The Fame, LoveGame is probably my favorite because it's so whorish and silly. Plus her performance of that song in the Monster Ball is really... explicit. lol

Classic Gaga is as good a name as any for the aesthetic that comprises Gaga's early sound, visual style, and outlook (her fixations on fame and Warhol) circa The Fame. With The Fame Monster, Gaga began to mature in that some of her new songs were more serious and personal and she started to wear her politics on her sleeve. Also, the massive success of Bad Romance pretty much cemented her status as pop queen of the world and heir to Madonna. That was the real turning point for her, I think—the line of division between Classic (Warholian) Gaga and Free Bitch Gaga.

I listened to the Fame Monster again today with the housemates, danced our asses off.

I wonder who she fired between now and then.

edit: I think "free-bitch" Gaga is a different era than "super-self-serious-surrounded-by-yes-men-overindulgent" Gaga

Lady Gaga is not my type of music really,it`s ok I guess for the genre and i`m not crazy about her but I never saw her in concert until the HBO Monster Ball special they have airing now and man,I thought it was awesome hehe...I didn`t think she was that good Live, thought it was lipsynching and all but she gives a great performance for her fans.

Yeah, that could be the case.

Judas IMO never had much chance to be a hit. Its becoming "cool" to hate on her for starters, the religious backlash (as retarded as it was) had something to do as well, nobody digs a dark song for summer, the fact that its a little too similar to Bad Romance, all played into its underperformance. Radio wont even touch the song now.

The feelings were clearly on display at the last MB show: When she played "Born This Way" the whole stadium went INSANE. The energy, the feedback from the crowd was surreal. I didnt dig BTW at first but now Im a big believer of the track, especially after witnessing it live. Right after BTW when she closed with Judas it was like a stark contrast, people werent jumping or singing along, there's a disconnect between the crowd and the track IMO.

BTW is relatable feel good music, Judas isn't because of the religious overtone, maybe if you are with someone that betrays you sure but the biblical references pretty much kill that sense. So its hard to find enthusiasms for the song aside from just liking how it sounds. EoG is the same as BTW in that sense.

Also anybody notice that EoG starts with a heartbeat and ends with a flatline, shit is deep.

I do miss the style of the Bad Romance video. Something about that video feels very unique in a way that hasn't been replicated in her latest videos - does anyone agree?

LOL, must suck having your own creative director admit she copied many elements of your visual style from Madonna. What a fail. Time for LaurieAnn to get the boot! Seeya maaaaate

Better to have a prominent staffer at least admit to it rather than people make the accusation and be vehemently rebuffed by CrazyFans, no?

Because the problem lies in saying it, not doing it, right?

I'm sure Gaga wasn't ignorant of the similarities.

Fair point.

I don't actually know what she's talking about with the rest of her response, however.

Yeah, but they don't have to tell it like it is!

My comment was a bit tongue-in-cheek - she's obviously aware of the comparisons (the crying Madonna shot in the BTW video is proof of that...) Just funny having them come out and say it so openly.

Don't worry guys, any decent dj should spin a few older gaga tracks in your local party place of choice

LETS HAVE SOME FUN THIS BEAT IS SICK!

edit

Got all the old gaga classics on blast, atm i'v got Monster on.. holy shit i'm getting my self in a party mood (Very bad thing i'm low on cash and will end up getting shitfaced)

Don't call me gaga iv never seen one like that before

ladygaga

show me your teeth!

I actually hate Laurie-Ann Gibson so much. She's really too outspoken. It's as if she wants to ride on Gaga to become famous, and is doing that by undermining Gaga's typical "silence is golden" approach.

Yeah she's getting on my nerves. It seems like she's having a little bit too much to do with Gaga for this album. Do we even know how much input she had on The Fame/The Fame Monster? This is the first time I've heard of her really. GaGa couldn't even make the Judas music video the way she wanted it because Laurie-Ann thought her original idea was too much or too crazy.
Even GaGa's choreography isn't as good as it used to be.

Oh well, I doubt GaGa will drop her, they're supposedly really good friends.

Yep. I dont really expect her to work for the next album.

Edge of Glory debuted on radio with 6M AI. Thats the 4th biggest radio opening this year, the top 5 being this way:

1.- Born This Way (22M AI)
2.- Hold it Against Me (9M AI)
3.- JUDAS (7M AI)
4.- Edge of Glory (6M AI)
5.' Til The World Ends (5M AI)

I expect Edge of Glory to do very very good if given the real single treatment as it so far its only a US single. I also hope that fan music video is not true. Those are usually shit. We need real videos from Godga.
