RPGFan has an article about upcoming PS2 releases, and apparently Langrisser III is coming on September 29. I'm a huge fan of the series, I'm definitely interested in a remake, but why do the absolute worst one this side of Millennium? My assumption is that they think they can make the 3D better now.. It make sense, given the ports of every other game in the series on the PSone. I want to know more.

Warsong is Langrisser 1. The name Langrisser was probably deemed too strange for a US title at the time.

They don't say who's handling the port to the PS2 (or remake, whatever it is). I wonder if they got CareerSoft to do it or if it's just a no-name company that's doing it.

I would love to see a port of Langrisser 1-5 on one disk, personally... and then a subsequent US release of the titles. 3 didn't really sit right with me, I didn't "get" the battle system, especially going in there expecting something like Warsong. Langrisser IV is a much better game, and one of my favorite strat RPGs.

3 sucked, but a port of 4-5 with REALLY overhauled visuals would rock.
