His interview with Neil DeGrasse Tyson was a small insight into his perception of death and immortality. When Neil asked if he would choose to live forever, King nearly jumped out his seat and immediately shouted "yes" without hesitation. Rest in peace, even though I had little exposure or interest in your work.
