I disagree, last resort will hold its audience very well of quality remains the same, revolution will bleed very quickly
Revolution is infinitely better than Last Resort. The latter is so poorly produced at every level that I have to consider the idea that it was intentional.
And if we're all adding our two cents, yeah, meh. Cheap production values, cardboard cutout characters, moves too quickly and makes little sense. If this was going to be the pilot storyline, it should have been 2 hours, not 1. But it doesn't matter, it's not long for this world.
The character description in the OP says she has an aussie mother. There's hope! The Storyteller said:She only had one line of dialogue, not enough for me to even tell if she was playing an aussie
I can't believe there are people out there thinking that Last Resort looks cheaper than Revolution of all shows. Good grief.
LOL, seriously. Revolution's production values are godawful.I can't believe there are people out there thinking that Last Resort looks cheaper than Revolution of all shows. Good grief.
It certainly doesn't look like it cost $11 million.

I kind of liked the breakneck pace of the pilot. There was a lot going on, but it didn't feel rushed to me and felt just about right. It helped contribute to that feeling of everything quickly spiraling out of control. It didn't flesh out the characters too much, aside from Chaplin, but i don't think it needed to. Now that they've settled into their island base they can start having the characters bounce off each other.I don't disagree with you there, it suffers from that pilot syndrome of wanting to get to a certain end point by the conclusion and consequently being forced to stuff a fuckload of plot into 42 minutes. It definitely should've been a two parter.
I don't know how exactly i would judge such a thing, but it felt like they got their money's worth. The submarine effects were pretty damn great imo, and they set up a lot of different locations, including a detailed sub set, and juggled a pretty huge cast. It succeeded at building a big sense of scope, so that must mean something. It certainly doesn't look like it cost $11 million.
It is terrible. I struggle to understand how anyone can't see it. The writing, characterisation and acting are also appalling.
I'm not sure if you are talking about Revolution or Last Resort, so I'm going to pretend it's the former!
I fucking love Autumn Reeser.
Wait, the season is only 13 episodes.
Could be wrong, but as I understood it they just have an initial order of 13, at which point if it's renewed the network can opt to extent it to a full season run?
I think both shows are pretty average, but you're living in a deluded fantasy land if you think that Last Resort will outlive Revolution. It won't.
It doesn't matter because that's not the point I was referring to. Revolution will get, at worst, a 22-episode season. You'll be lucky to see another 5 episodes of Last Resort.
I disagree, last resort will hold its audience very well of quality remains the same, revolution will bleed very quickly
Yup. The network initially orders just 13 episodes and then orders the 'back 9' if the show is a hit.
Hence the term 'the show should get it's back 9'.
So after the terrible ratings for the first episode ABC is trying to spin this to attract a female crowd with a commercial I saw today, stating that the show had a terrific "Love Story" to go along with all the action. Going to be interesting to see if that causes a bump next week.
Doubtful. I'm hoping what causes the bump is that a lot of people watched the stream and actually tune in for the second episode... but it's hard to escape the fact that when it comes to ratings after a premiere, down is more common than up.
I can't believe so many of you loved this pilot. I was absolutely terrible. The premise and the story are nice and can be interesting, but the acting, editing, directing and writing are really awful.
I couldn't belive what I was watching. And the dialogs...damn.
Yes you were absolutely terrible in this post.
Except I never, ever said that.

You then took that to mean Im claiming Revolution will be canned tomorrow and last resort will live a long and prosperous life. I said nothing of the sort.
What Im saying is that they will both finish their season, and then never return.
Last Resort wont get pulled after 5 episodes, it will get all 13, or at worst, 11.
Revoltuion will get the 22 and then get the terra nova treatment.
Russians!
The only thing I don't like about this show is the angle with random thug. You have a dude that declared war on the world, and could end all things at will. Why are you testing him like that? Fall back and push your drugs.
Aside from that, I enjoy this. I hope the ratings go up.
This got real dumb real fast, not that the pilot was all that amazing to begin with. Hopefully they can turn this around. On the Shawn-Ryan-o-meter this is definitely Chicago Code, not in the same universe as Shield or Terriers.

Heh, I was wondering where he was since he was in the credits.Saw Jay Karnes in the credits, but didn't see him. IMDB lists him as the Sec. of Defense, the guy on the phone :lol Dutch has moved on from Killing Kittens.
Yup, that's similar to my take.On the Shawn-Ryan-o-meter this is definitely Chicago Code, not in the same universe as Shield or Terriers.
I'm really enjoying this show. The only downside being the XO wife sub-plot. I can't see that going anywhere interesting.
