Only if I'm on the opposing side. I remember I got paired up with someone bot who was not a support in any way.

It's the only game I can recall actively raging against someone else. It was, unsurprisingly, a 20 minute loss.

I was Sivir, paired with Garen. It might have worked alright if Garen had stayed in the bushes, harassed the opposing champions, and been on Mumble.

No mumble, took my last hits, and never entered the bush. Gave first blood, too. We were eaten alive.

I just gave up. :(

Ultimately it boils down to player skill. Doesn't matter what meta you follow (or don't follow), if you suck you're gonna lose.

I've played so many games with no jungler on my team, and me and top just zone the shit out of the solo top because he doesn't know to just let the wave push and buy GP5 items until he out levels us. We ward our blue so if the enemy jungle tries to take it we gank 'em.

There are a lot of people that are horrible at this game. You talk like everyone watches tournaments and follows the meta of how the game is played, but the fact that like 75 percent of the player base (a number I've heard before - maybe Rayven can verify?) is less than 1200 Elo can't be ignored.

The current meta is mathematically the best way to win, but so long as you have people that can't play to these theoretical standards there will always be ways to lose to a team/character/set up that is technically worse.

I agree with the above. Meta matters when fairly skilled coordinated teams face off against each other, but at lower level play it may not necessarily apply, especially when people are just mindlessly following the meta without understanding WHY it works and what to do to exploit the fact the enemy team isn't following the meta.
 
A non-support bottom lane CAN work, but you need to have two players in great sync with each other.

If you're going to have a fully offensive lane, no matter what, you need to have one person building GP10 items.

The best non-support bot lane I've been in was with a Tristana when I was Xerath. Right off the bat I built Kage's and Philo's and she got wriggles ASAP. What we did was always ward the entrance to our lane while she farmed and I occasionally took a creep but focused on zoning out Cait and Soraka HARD. By level 6 they weren't touching any creeps or getting XP. Every time they came in, Trist would jump on Cait and I'd nuke her.

We took tower and dragon by level 8/10 and they were both still just getting to 7. Whenever Udyr came in to gank, I'd stun him and Trist would blow him away.

I was definitely behind on farm most of the game but our early lane dominance led to dragon control the entire time and we ganked mid and their red buff constantly after that. Udyr had half a jungle and started falling behind.

You can make it work but you have to succeed early game. HAVE to.

Apparently people only follow the meta in blind pick. I've been playing a couple draft games and I've been matched up against 5 carries and no jungler every time.

My teams have followed the meta and won pretty easily though.

coming into this game new is a kick in the junk. Just had a smurf ziggs complain that I was a newb followed by constant all chat of blaming shit on "the newbs on his team" and team chat of "this is pissing me off".

The problem is that your 4 team mates do, and when 4 people follow "the plan" and the fifth doesn't, the fifth is automatically deemed the culprit behind a loss, even if you carried the game.

I remember my newbie games were pretty fun, I did a lot of stupid stuff, but never had anyone screaming at me until I get to level 20s or so. There are even player helping me out pointing my mistake and stuff.

The problem is that your 4 team mates do, and when 4 people follow "the plan" and the fifth doesn't, the fifth is automatically deemed the culprit behind a loss, even if you carried the game.

It is a fair judgement to make, if you point out that your not going to babysit bot lane during champion select, most of time people will adjust to your play style (either changing to support to babysit you or move the ad carry to mid/top). I know because I played a fair amount of games as Eve solo q (dam gaf haters), bot lane will just put a sustain bruiser in bot lane instead of ad carry so I can roam.

If someone just go in, instant lock a champ without saying anything, go bot lane and steal cs from ad carry knowing the standard meta exist. I don't know what to say.

When someone refuses to work with his teammates it isn't a question of meta, it's a question of "can you adapt to your team and theirs in any situation". That's why the "meta" works so well, because there are well-defined roles.

I've done Ryze/Sona bot, Alistar Shaco bot. It still works, but you have to work around the fact that there are 2 of you in lane. If your AD starts to complain, get him a kill or grab a GP5 and maybe even start roaming. Just because one person on your team is so adhesive to the meta doesn't mean you have to shite on their parade.

The word is "skim"

Nautilus, the Titan of the Depths

Staggering Blow (Passive) – Nautilus’ first basic attack against a target deals bonus physical damage and immobilizes the opponent briefly. Staggering Blow cannot trigger on the same target more than once every 12 seconds.
Dredge Line - Nautilus throws his anchor forward. If he hits an enemy, he'll drag himself to his target and his target to him. If he hits terrain, he'll drag himself to the terrain and the cooldown is reduced.
Titan’s Wrath- Nautilus places a shield on himself that absorbs additional damage based on his maximum health. While the shield is active, Nautilus' attacks deal damage over time to units around him.

I guess that's an overall warwick buff? Or is the passive a semi-nerf? I wonder if he'll be better in the jungle now.

That Ahri nerf is good. Early game was the problem for many people against her. Now you have to use it as an escape or offensively with a longer CD.

I think the nerf was needed (not this much though) but it's sad that Riot succumbs to peer pressure so easily for crap like this.
