does anybody else feel like suyin is part of this too

i didnt before but something is wrong to me now

Ehh, I hope she's not.

It would have made Lin's flashback episode kind of a waste. She goes through all this acupuncture bs to accept that her sister is a better person now. Only to have it turn out that her sister really was just a crook? Also, there were plenty of opportunities during that whole battle to let Zaheer and crew get away with Korra and not have it seem obvious that she was on their side.

Yeah but at the same time Suyin was adamant about Korra staying in one place until Zaheer and friends attacked. And is helping Korra chase after Zaheer.

She's probably an unwilling participant - Zaheer might be holding Toph hostage or something.

So a casual fan here...

Basically what happened was after the huge success that was Avatar, they decided to make a sequel in Korra that was supposed to be a 12 episode mini series. Before that started they figured "What the hell, Avatar was super popular so lets have them make it four seasons instead?"

Then after the first season Nick did as they do with everything that's not Spongebob and didn't advertise the thing at all so nobody knew about it and nobody watched, making it bomb. So they started season 3 with almost no notice and tried to get it done as quickly as possible showing 2 episodes a week and now they just said "Screw it" and decided to essentially cancel the show from TV and just throw the rest of the episodes online?

Something did feel pretty off.

I just chocked it up to bad pacing though.

Well I dislike Su and would love to see Lin kick the crap out of her, having her be in on it would just be annoying, and as others said, a retread.

i mean, suyin just enabled korra to basically run off to her doom after she lied to lin's face about korra needing to stay in lin's care.

when lin figures this out, she is going to be furious at suyin. she'll probably kick herself over it a ton, like she should have known better to trust that su has changed at all.

Interestingly, Tenzin pulled the same face when Korra told him Amon could take away bending. Turned out to be nothing though:

I call bullshit on Korra being the first metalbending Avatar.

Aang loved learning about the elements and he hadn't mastered them yet (with the exception of airbending) when he faced Ozai. I can't imagine him not wanting to learn how to metalbend given how one of his closest friends pioneered it and it's incredibly useful. Just no way I don't see Aang not being able to do it.

Alarms were going off in my head too. Dafuq would she send Korea after those guys? Just to get her truth seer back? Idiotic plan.

He just couldn't learn it. He had a hard enough time learning earthbending.

I hope she's not in on it, that seems like a really boring direction to take. they've done the "relative betrays relative" thing about a hundred times.

:lol they really played up how unlikable Mako is in this episode, or at least it felt like it.

am I forgetting something or has Asami pretty much been a total nonentity this season?

Aang struggled with learning the basics, after that his growth was faster than we had seen with waterbending, which he took to quite easily. I think Korra being the first to do it some meaningless, albeit slightly annoying, distinction the writers choose to go with for the sake of doing it.

Will we need Hulu plus to watch Korra?

Also, Suyin is totally complicit. When she got lie checked it was obvious, as well as when she was told Aiwei was in on it. Fake reaction all the way.

That was such a boring episode to show by itself. Especially compared to how well the Air Acolyte training episode was so well contained last week.

I felt that there is something wrong with Suyin from the beginning when they first introduced her, and this episode made me even more certain.
We'll see what happens

Anyone going to point out how dumb it is that Korra wound up at the one place in the entire world where the second in command is a sleeper agent for the group out to kill her?

No? Alright.

Someone posted that concept art from the panel, pointed out Suyin might have met the bad guys during her traveling days, but I don't see anyone without arms or anything, that may be Zaheer in the middle but he isn't that big.

But only a few of them have red on their costumes, and Red Lotus...don't know. It's also the fire nation circus, so it could just be their color scheme.

Not only that, but Aiwei had a secret tunnel in a city where everyone can feel everything in the ground. Maybe his location had something to do with it.

Juuuuicy ep! And I am incredibly happy where the show has gotten... on the road with the main 4 characters. Now the wait till the next ep. Two weeks? :(

edit: also, Asami sleeps with her make-up on? I wanted to see her o'natural.

So it seems like they're giving the characters roles now...slightly.

Korra as headstrong leader
Mako as detective
Bolin comic relief and sharpshooter
Asami for technology girl and support

Plays the support role so well she's not even on screen 90% of the time. Too busy supporting the team.

So to those saying she's crooked, what is her role? She can't be working for Zaheer. For one, she created the metal city years before. So the only way she's crooked is she was told to give Korra up after she arrived. Okay. But for what, money?

I just don't understand how she can be crooked given her overall story arc. Like she was planning this all along, having kids and making a home for herself? And if she's crooked isn't this basically the same plot they have done every season now? Lol

:(

this season is fucking DOGSHIT for that reason alone :(((((((((((((

She fought alongside Korra while retrieving the Earth Queen's taxes

I don't think Su is working for Zaheer or anything like that, but I do think she has a secret. And Aiwei being the mole would mean that he knows her secrets which can come back to bite her. I'm guessing she's been trying to make her city independent from the Earth Kingdom. She already talked about how much she hates the queen and it always seemed fishy to me she would have a city in peacetime that would completely lock down at night (or in case of an Earth Kingdom attack, maybe?).

Another great episode. I liked the way they handled the combat, it was pretty interesting having them be surrounded. Also, I like the touch of the poison darts being laced with shirshu venom.
Cant help but feel like this whole thing ia gonna fall flat
The previous two season don't inspire confidence, but I think they've finally learned something.
