Game looks dumb, not enough animals and the story sucks, 2/10 would not recommend.

/s, it actually looks freaking amazing to me, can't wait to see more.
Smh at people judging the graphics from an offscreen footage.

Oh my god. Wow. I love being a Nintendo fan. I am going to need a big screen TV by the time this comes out. (Will it be 1080p or 720p?) The GamePad alone just isn't going to cut it here. lol

It looks gorgeous, but I want a new/better Link motion capture.

Just got a new 50" UHD TV last week. So I'm prepared :)

Regarding resolution. Nintendo use both 720p and 1080p, so I think it is a bit early to know for sure. Hopefully 1080p

Since it seems Nintendo want to maximise visual quality and fidelity here, along with demanding nature of the open world , I think they would go with 720p.

Another clear sign of downgrade is the fact that the game dosent run on full screen anymore. The playable area is now only a small box to the left, while the rest of the screen is taken by the image of two man talking. Here´s proof

Compare it to the footage shown at e3 and you will notice that the old version uses the full screen, instead of the terrible downgrade we see now

Beautiful

I wasn't that impressed the first time I saw it. I loved most of what I saw, but like, seemingly, a lot of you I thought the world looked a bit too empty. Now that I've seen it again my worries are gone, there's a shit-ton to look at and I can't wait to explore the world. Also, the more Nintendo will show of it in the coming months, the better it will become, t'is the Nintendo way. This will deliver, I'm sure of it.

I don't know where you got this idea that as time passes I'm going to like SS more

If anything I'll like it less

This. It's a game that repeats thing constantly. Years of rushed 3D Zelda games and this is the worst.

They clearly ran out of time and it feels to me that they wanted Zelda to be playable. An entire section of the game has Link running around aimlessly where she has been.

How big do we think the map is? Sorry if this has been discussed already.
If that distance to the tower is ~5 km (3.107mi), then the long side of the map is ~62 km. If the distance is closer, say ~3km (1.864mi), then the long side is ~37km.

ps: all measures taken as visual estimates, no rulers used.

I am also confident this will deliver. Can we confirmed that nintendo ditched motion controls for the combat? If so I will be real happy.

Entire sections of the game has Link running around aimlessly to catch bugs.

Entire section of the game has Link sailing around aimlessly to find maps to find broken artifacts.

The negative:

This is why they haven't released anything before now. People have too high of expectations for Nintendo for them to release a video of the game with any nitpickings in it. Having a sparse overworld is too soon (I have no fear the world will be quite lively come release time)

The positive:

Eh... I'm unimpressed.
As usual, Nintendo games will shine because of their tight gameplay and amazing art direction but I'm not too excited about the open world concept. That gameplay demo looked too barren and not to mention (even off-screen) I noticed some really bad textures and pop in trees.

Being fair with them, I think that the reason they showed an off-screen footage was because it's better for hiding some imperfections. They know that the game has still some graphics flaws(low lod, poor ground and rock textures, a bit awkward animations), but still they wanted us to see how the game is meant to be played, so I'm still seeing it with positive eyes.

It's really unbelievable what Nintendo can do with only 1 GB RAM :D

Now imagine how this and X would look if they unlocked the second GB of RAM. Sexier textures, more detail, even bigger draw distances. I'm happy with what we have here though. Just fun to think about. You never know, maybe they will.

Ok I really think everyone is trolling in this thread. Because I'm pretty sure ppl are a lot smarter to judge from off screen footage ;)

That would be awesome, but I believe this is impossible because 1 GB RAM needs to be reserved for the System OS ;)

Good thing it's still a year from release then, isn't it?

Oh my oh my that looked far more wonderful than I ever imagined it would.

I am stupidly excited now.
What a joy it looks like to play.

I haven't read the thread yet but I hope we're universally excited?

I think not....XD
I saw some problem but it's a positive balance imo, but a lot of people is seeing it in a very negative way.

Wii U doesnt need more Ram for what it was designed, it would go beyond the very well defined limitations of the system.

So far so good. I'm Interested in learning more about the weapons, the dungeons, the minute-to-minute gameplay... The stuff that makes Zelda Zelda. As is, though? Looks pretty great so far.

Hopefully the dungeons are amazing, the bosses huge and incredible, the story epic, etc. but I'm pretty much a day 1 guy on Zelda.

I hope there are a good amount of secrets to uncover, and that there are good (usable) rewards for whatever collect-athons are in the game.

I think the important takeaway from both the initial teaser and then this video is that archery will be a very, very important mechanic in the game.

  • It's his primary means of attack in both the teaser and the trailer.
  • We even see link's quiver in this game, and it's hanging prominently below his shield.
  • He uses very special arrows that seem to have some kind of magic or technology applied to them.
  • They added a whole new technique where link can jump off the horse to shoot the bow while time slows down.
  • Most Zelda games highlight the unique features of a system, and this one will most likely feature gamepad-aiming as its primary gimmick for arrows. We already see Aonuma using this in the trailer, and I think that's going to be one of the larger mechanics in the game.
That's a good point. The sword definitely doesn't appear to be the main weapon anymore. The Wii Remote was such a perfect fit for sword-based combat in Skyward Sword that it'll be weird going back to just mashing a button. But aiming a bow is a natural fit for a gyro-equipped gamepad... so that would explain why it's gotten so much focus over a sword this time around. Also, I suppose, a bow is more useful than a sword in large open world such as this.

Hyrule field was never really meant to be anything more than a field in TP.
I always assumed the large empty expanse in Twilight Princess was just a remnant from when the game supposedly featured a large amount of on-screen enemies (like in the infamous reveal trailer, and that cut fused-Goron boss thing).

I remembered my other question when I was eating Lucky Charms and watching a j-drama a few minutes ago. (Stay tuned for other non-pertinent details about my life!)

So, let's try this again:

B) That metallic clang sound when an arrow connects with an enemy sounded pretty odd to me. It actually sounded like a shield deflecting the metal tip of an arrow rather than connecting with a moblin. So, that was a bit strange for me. Did anyone else feel like this, and do you expect that sound effect to change? Did I misunderstand its purpose?
