Anyone else think that the bottom left corner of the map is the lost woods? It seems like there is a forest behind the snow(??) mountain.
nope, I think it is the Abstergo: plot twist, Hyrule is a virtual world, like Matrix

If there's one thing I want it's a creepy dark forest with huge-ass trees. I know the Lost Woods is a Zelda staple but we've never had one in a proper open world fashion, should be fun. You know, something like the forest in those Twilight Princess trailers.
I gotta say the trees we've seen so far are kind of underwhelming but hey, we really haven't seen a lot to be fair.![]()

Actually, thinking about it you're right, there can't be that many... But those 3 plus Epona and (potentially) the unannounced sidekick makes it £50 here. And that's before I've bought the game and possibly a limited edition console bundle...how so? what do you have in mind?
Link, Zelda, Ganon... what else can happen? I don't think nintendo will produce Amiibos for some randon NPC
Any chance that's a town instead? Was wondering when someone would post this. Looked like a dam to me.
Well, they have those in almost ALL the early Zelda trailers... Wind Waker had one of those, Twilight Princess had one, etc.
I'm guessing that running through a fairly empty forest just isn't all that fun and that's why they always end up cutting it. They'd have to come up with some cool gameplay idea to make it work. In Ori, we have a forest that constantly changes around you, I could imagine that kinda concept working for Zelda. Similar to how Antichamber worked![]()
I think what he was referring to was the beta-forest from TP. We've seen it, we deserve to play it at some point!

OoT also had that kind of Forest in its beta/alpha screenshots but was eventually cut due to hardware limitation. Sounds like the Wii U is the first system to allow them to go nuts with it.
And it will be glorious. I haven't been this hype (and I haven't seen the internet this hype) for a Zelda game since Twilight Princess.

Is anyone else hopeful that Nintendo will embrace the DeviantArt community a bit more with this release and offer various romance options? I think the graphical style is perfect for some more mature interactions between Link and other characters.
You just used Deviantart, romance, and mature in the same sentence. I can't even.
No seriously, what does the DA community has to do with romance in Zelda?

You will wear the tunic 99% of the time, THey probably just saving it for e3
Here's a thought. What if link is being stalked by enemies and him wearing the hood makes him harder ti find by the big enemies roaming the world. In the e3 trailer he was already seen so he only through it off when he was ready to fight. Also he wouldn't be able to attack or use his bow with the cloak on. Doubt that's it but could be a cool mechanic.
Have none of you read the articles on ZeldaInformer about Link and his romances? They're really in-depth and Skyward Sword has made a push in the right direction for this stuff to happen for real.

Sorry for wanting a more mature storytelling experience from next gen Zelda, guys.

But I wouldnt mind if the magic meter regenerated after a while, but as it is, its not happening.
I don't know if this has been pointed out yet but I found it interesting and kept catching my eye. Around 1:17 in the video Aonuma starts to move the camera to the right but very quickly pulls it back almost trying not to show off this structure in the distance. Its odd shaped and doesn't look all that natural, it looks like a dome like at Epcot in Disney. Also looks like there might be some type of cave entrance to it.

The hype makes me want to climb on top of the house and yell "ZERUDAAAA!!"
I want to see situations where dungeons can be so big that they overlap into other dungeons.
How would that work?
Okay, this is purely for the sake of example, but maybe there could be a fire dungeon and an ice dungeon that work as a dual dungeon to make a mega dungeon. There could be a fire/ice mechanic that connects the two and using a switch, you could bring effects from one dungeon over to another somehow in order to clear each one. Clearing each dungeon activates a switch and when both switches are activated, the boss door opens.
Or maybe that's ridiculous.
Any chance we'll get redeads back?
You know, the scary kind, not the lame ones from TP.
It would be like watch dogs and another player comes in your game and follow you lol
That sounds awful. I want to explore this beautiful world at my own pace without being hurried by an enemy. One of the worst parts of Majora's Mask was never being able to relax and take in the world.
Skull lake.
Believe.
I am dreading the release of Amiibos for this game...
My wallet is doomed.
I don't even think that's traversable terrain. All the area around what could be Snowpeak and the gorge around the north-west of the map is just flat terrain. I'm not sure you can go there.

I'm not as hyped for this one becuase for all I care Nintendo hasn't been able to make a good Zelda since TP... not to sell it short.
Haha what? How many home console Zelda games have they made since TP, again? You make it sound like they're on some kind of losing streak here.

I wonder if they'll ever embrace the DeviantArt crowd's wishes and offer some cutscenes for breeding segments. Viva Pinata did something like that and it worked perfectly, but with Pokemon fans and the ageing demographic I wonder if Game Freak would be willing to embrace a more adult take on that. I was thinking something along the lines of working with the body types in the Pokedex and making some animations to compliment them. For example, maybe if two humanoid Pokemon were breeding, there could be a cutscene where, for the sake of this I'll use Gardevoir in this example, one Gardevoir tenderly caresses the face of another Gardevoir, the second of the two blushing at the gesture, before they embrace (SFW, obviously) and then a heart shape contracts to veil the scene.
I think it works to appease the adult fans of the series whilst keeping it safe for the kids.

ok no
the answer is now a hearty no forever
I regret looking this up

Why are you going through my post history?
This looks like the most accurate mapping of the E3 footage, definitely.I'm going to agree with this now, I had a few more watches and there's definitely no sign of the 'super tall tree' anywhere in the South-East area. Also for the last scene, I kept thinking it was sunset but it makes way more sense that it's sunrise. You can also recognise the mountains as the camera swings around to the East.
This I'm going to definitely disagree.
1. The angle at which we see Split Mountain shows that we have to be almost in line with the split opening (you can see right through it to the mountains behind).
2. The topography of the mountain you have marked shows a very high peak on one side of the river and much lower hilly range on the other side. This looks nothing like Split Mountain. Just compare.
3. We see a mountain ridge that crosses in the foreground in front of Split mountain. As there are only flat plains between Link and the mountain you marked in black, this is impossible.
4. Remember, Link is at a very high vantage point, almost as high as the mountains around him. So I re-assert that Link is almost at the South East tip of the continent.

Just look at the mountain I've marked in red - Spiral Mountain. It even has the spiral on the topographical map!
Because it's public information and I can do so at my leisure?
I asked why you did it, I didn't ask why you thought you could do it.

Zero²;142591414 said:Guys I was reading some comments on the NL forums, and a user said what if this new game, as said by Aonuma, is a clean break from the conventions of Zelda, can it disregard the timeline completely? Be like a reboot?
Not that I'd like it, but I found it not to be that far-fetched.
Your outlandish claim of Nintendo "missing out on fanservice for a large portion of their audience" caught my interest. You vastly overestimate the size of DeviantArt Zelda fans as a group, and that's not even going into the debate over whether or not how many of them would like more "mature" romancing in Zelda games.
You don't know the community like I do.
It's good that you assumed though.

I'm not even going to bother trying to convince you guys anymore, you're obviously close minded, which is funny considering how radical a departure this game is.
I think the new game will have 18 dungeons and you'll get a bird two-thirds through. The villian is Ganondorf, plus time-traveling Ganondorf from the future.
In one hand, they were trying to implement something like that in Ocarina of Time but I don't remember if time or budget was the impediment... also the fact that is Nintendo will make them better than the romance options in other series since they can't include sex scene at the end as a reward.I think that Nintendo should pander to shipping culture, not grotesque fanfic level fetish stuff.
It's good that you assumed though.
Let's leave that page behind us. It's dead.
LET'S TALK ABOUT ZELDA
