Let's talk about The Order:1886 characters models....

What makes you think I'm not calm? Also kindly refrain from making more assumptions since the ones so far have been terrible.

is it me or that there are tons of new members who post negative things about sony first party games without even knowing much.

Ontopic: I am really impressed by not only order but most games as far as character models go(except ghost and FFXV). Just look at b4 trailer or remedy new games.

Why do people judge the graphics of anything but actual gameplay? How many times can people be fooled by that in-engine nonsense before they start to catch on? Their capacity for being duped seems to be boundless.

Not really a high poly count at all...just hi res textures and a more advanced lighting system

People really underestimate the power of a good lighting system...its the difference between something looking fake as hell to looking really cool in only a few ticks of a box

Look back at a game like splinter cell Chaos theory....that games lighting system was well ahead of its time

does last of us really look better than uncharted 3 ?? These guys made an awesome leap from uncharted 2 to 3..I can't believe the PS3 can do even better than UC3 :v

My expectations for Next gen graphics are even higher after this game...Just absolutely amazing. Its also extremely consistent.

For me no, texture in the last of us take a hit against uncharted 3. My opinion ^^

You're crazy. Go back to those 2005 demos. Stuff like Motorstorm and Killzone are still way beyond what we're going to see this generation. The early footage this time around is much more realistic.
I just went back to those videos and I think large parts of them can be done in a few years. Look at Quantum, Final Fantasy and The Order and think back to early PS3 games vs. Uncharted 3, The Last of Us and God of War 3.

you can't talk about Quantum Break and not mention the faces.

i was fooled because of this

We also strived to create a seamless experience when it came to the game. The idea was to make sure that you never saw any visual discrepancies or breaks in continuity between gameplay and cinematic. Our game models and our cinematic models are one and the same, and everything is rendered real time in the engine as you play the game. The trailer we presented is a great example of that. What you saw is running in-engine, in-game with no gimmicks. These visuals are what you can expect of the final game when you play it.

if this will not be the case i will hate ready at dawn for the rest of my life! :D

Yea, I did notice.

The face animation is truly outstanding.

Here's a better version:

show me characters with an higher poly count and overall complexity so ^^

better from a polygonal count perspective? Nope about the order, sorry, the complexity about the clothes of the order's characters are unmatched, too polygonal edges in the characters from killzone, but 40.000 polygons are relatively low for next gen ^^
I would say the Dark Sorcerer design comes pretty close though. Especially since most of the parts are actually individually animated driven by real time physics:

You are being ridiculous. And get out with your "hit and run" accusation.

The OP states that the characters in The Order are something more or less unique. I disagreed - at least judging from the posted screenshots - and then offered a different game. Which people can disagree with of course, but I was perfectly on topic.

The characters from The Order are wholly unique, particularly so when compared to a supersoldier with no soul or personality.

The game will most likely be heavily story-driven ala Heavy Rain, this would make sense considering the weird ass resolution and the black bars to make it more movie like, i wouldn't expect much from this game.

Edit: now that i look at my original post i kind of worded it in a way like i was stating it as fact, which is not the case ofcourse.

The game will most likely be a story driven third person action-adventure/shooter ala Uncharted. This would make sense since they've already said that's what it is going to be.

edit: rad never made a point-n-click esque game anyway; there's literally nothing to base this assumption on.

yes of course, the dark sorcerer it's better, but the guy was refering to models from killzone shadows fall, they're good but not better than these in the order, and in the dark sorcerer of course ^^

What is the poly count of these characters? Or, if you're unsure, what gives it away that it's not a high poly count at all?

I think a lot of people here are confusing the use of in game assets to make an in-engine cinematic vs the way the game will actually look.

I dunno know, but...

crysis 3 has the eyes going for it at least

Both of those look pretty bad... I thought that bald guy was a proof that the order doesn't look good until I read it is from crisis and above pics looks like taken from zombie game.... Is the guy a zombie? Didn't know crisis 3 had zombies..

Especially the people fawning over Remedy's game. Just look at their track record.

Oh absolutely, its not limited to PS4 titles, there are XB1 games that were shown in similar respects.

These in-engine cinematic are the equivalent of all of the trailers we got at the start of the current generation where every developer claimed they were in-game but were actually CGI.

The head looks crappy as an example piece, AND it's emotionless. What's so hard to understand? It's a garbage, emotionless head. I said it clearly.

What does emotionless mean though lol

Are you referring to the blank facial expression the character has at that particular point in time? Or the fact that it's a generic bald soldier guy as opposed to the more charming art style of The Order?

Because neither of those things have anything to do with the technical quality of a character model.

Yeah dude. The miniscule cuts on the lips. The detailed wrinkles under the eyes. The spotted skin around the hairline. The little reflection of light off of his bottom teeth. That character model is SO bad.
