No one cares, then. ;)

That's why I put it there, just to save you some time :p

In the dream I texted my crush's boyfriend for some reason (it was as if I texted him him before going to bed) and when I "woke up" he had answered insulting me.

There was also another dream about a random guy but I don't remember much about that one

I've been to the first day of the LGBT Film Festival I wrote before. I've only watched a series of shorts (the other movie didn't interest me so I skipped it). Some of them were pretty good, some were meh and some were pretentiously "artsy"; one was an amateur gay soft-porn with poor lighting, extremely distorted image and soundtrack composed of sound screeches that made your ear hurt. I was seriously rolling my eyes while watching it.

Anyway, I really liked one of the shorts: "It's consuming me". It's short (about 3 minutes), but the idea and the way it is executed is really good. It's on YouTube so I recommend watching it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kChVlQjUSUs

Might be NSFW due to few quick shots.

I need to vent. I'm have a completely fucked up sleep schedule due to my brother and I'm starting to go insane. . . .
If it's loud, get some ear plugs. They actually work quite well for most noises.

Yeah, really. Some people care about this thing called "sound quality", people!

It's actually almost physically impossible to hear the difference between an impeccably preserved vinyl and lossless audio. The differences are far beyond the range of humor hearing. It's all placebo, like most audiophile crap.

Yes. Except YouTube videos, the quality there in sound is crap.

I am listening to a lot of Alice in Chains stuff lately :O

Lmao did someone really diss vinyl

I cant

It's not the 1800's anymore, Sai. Get with the times. *smug*

Also you can't mention your brother shoving a glowstick up his ass and not give up the link to the stream. Come on!

Do you listen to metal or something? What else gets releases on vinyl?
Everything nowadays. Vinyl sales are actually going up. I'm no audiophile and I know there really isn't any difference (if anything CDs are better), but there's something about the experience and knowing that on that piece of plastic are the exact audio waves that I'm going to listen to.

Did you dream in the dream as well?

Most of the people who say stuff like that have never even listened to vinyl. Music's not disposable for me.. and its nice to feel like you've actually purchased something.. plus its really nice to have the artwork. [/hipster]

Sai? What's this about a glowstick?

Not Sai, the other dude.

I was listening to music when it was played Live in concert halls one night only and you had to take a boat for six months to get to that concert.[/pre-hipster-hipster]

As I said there was another dream but I I don't know if it was a dream within a dream or just different dreams :p

I was referring to going to sleep in a dream and waking up into a (the same?) dream. If your dreaming is anything like mine though then it's mostly just a big blob of info. I know I've had some awesome dreams I just can't remember much if anything that happened in them.

Also remembered reading about a strange form of lucid dreaming where you'd get lucid and "wake up" into another dream (not lucid) until you eventually woke up for real or in some cases wake up into another dream. Really bizarre stuff. Here's the wiki article!

Is it too douche-baggy to just stop talking with someone you're dating?
Cause that's where it seems this is going...

EDIT:
I don't mean not answering texts/calls. I'm 99% sure he's not gonna reach out and I don't feel like I have to neither.

This is way too vague for anybody to give a proper answer.

Just tell them it isn't working. Flat out. Not answering is a bit of a douche thing to do. If they're the ones that do it, well at least you're scott-free but at the same time know they're a douche.

Are there any teen dramas/ american dramas with actually good gay guy characters? All of them seem to lead to the "Oh wait I'm actually Bisexual herp derp" route :|

Not that I know of. Some people say glee has a good gay character or two in it, but in reality it's just "OH HEY LET'S MAKE A MARY SUE GAY DUDE WITH EVERY SINGLE STEREOTYPE WE CAN FIT INTO ONE CHARACTER." Most LGBT characters on American TV are still awful, partially because gay rights groups will applaud any inclusion of one as 'progessive,' even if said character is just stereotype comic relief.

edit: I'm not offended by any of those characters, and, in a way, gay characters as stereotypical comic relief helped people understand LGBT issues better. I just think we're a little late in the fight for 99% of the gay characters on television to be vapid and drama-obsessed.

Orphan Black has a character that's fully gay. He's a bit stereotypical, but enjoyable.

We've been dating for 4 months (exactly from today). I said it before in here, I often felt like we could only see each other whenever his family let him (cancelling lunch/dinner because his mom decided to cook, or they planed random trip without letting him know, also falling asleep a couple of times when we had plans, to name a few examples). Somehow he seems like he's still mama's little boy (at 24).

I know maybe it's just that our lifestyles are too different, I've lived pretty much on my own for many years now. I just got tired of always having to wait until the last minute to see if we can do anything and seeing plans fall through plenty of times.

It happened on Thursday, though it wasn't that big of a deal. I called him after work to see if we were doing anything (we didn't have to work on Friday). He told me he was going to have dinner with his mom and maybe we could spend some time together after that, since we didn't have to work the next day. That was around 9 pm. I got a (food) picture from him, at around 11 pm. Didn't hear back from him until 1pm the next day when he woke up.

I let him know I was angry because he kept on doing that. He didn't really defend himself. We talked later about my lunch, I thought things were back to normal. Then he talked to me again around 7 PM, telling me he just woke up with a headache and a pic. I ignored him (it pissed me off that again, instead of LET'S DO SOMETHING!, he decided to sleep, again). He sent me another pic around 9 PM, of a new (drinking) glass. I told him it looked nice. He said something else about it and I didn't answer back.

No talking since then.

BUT, before checking out your replies here I just sent him a text:
"It was 4 months ago we met for the first time"
"I guess this is it for us".

The messages haven't been delivered to his phone, I guess it's off or something. I just didn't want to just disappear.

teen dramas with good portrayals of gay characters in America?

oh lord that's a tough one.

Not US, but I remember years ago thinking the gay teen (Maxie?) on Season 1 & 2 of UK show "Skins" was a generally good potrayal. I hope I'm not remembering wrong it's been like 5 or 6 years since I've watched it. I think it's on US Netflix now but back in 2007 and 2008 I torrented it.

MTV's Teen Wolf has a gay character, but he's mostly non existent on the show. Only started watching that show because it was one of the few things with new episodes in the summer, plus the male eye candy.

But I don't really watch many teen dramas anymore so if there is anything else out there I probably don't know about it.

I only got five or so episodes into Skins before deciding I'd had enough, but there's an episode where one of Maxxie's friends discovers Maxxie's sketchbook and the entire thing is filled with doodles of penises. It was easily one of the most stupid things I've seen on television, but then, all of the characters on Skins were outlandish caricatures.

lol, I don't remember that scene at all.

It's been years, but all I remember about the show was his friends generally treated him normally. I guess that's why I mentioned it.

Also, The one weird episode where the straight male lead wanted to hook up with him. Oh, and also when he had that crazy stalker girl that was obsessed with him.

So there's nothing?
*Sigh* Yeah, I watched that Skins Ep. I thought it was ok but eh. I did watch all of Skins US but they replaced Maxxie with a Lesbian Cheerleader called Tea :|

Brothers & Sisters had a lead character who was gay, a successful lawyer, has on-screen relationships, gets married, adopts a child with his partner, and so on.

I miss the show, despite the final season heading in an off-the-rails kind of direction.

I guess I should have said characters that like play a vital role to the story and all, there's lots of Gay characters but they end up forgotten or are mostly seen for comic relief.

One of the main characters in Smash is gay, and he's actually one of the more grounded characters on that show.

American Horror Story had a lesbian character in its second season who wasn't stereotypical (shocking, coming from Ryan Murphy). Not a guy, but still worth mentioning.

True Blood's got a ton of LGB characters that are all really fun, and as mentioned, Orphan Black has a gay character who is pretty stereotypical, but is also a lot of fun (he's sort of the side kick though).

Admittedly, while there are a lot of gay characters on TV that are the fun/funny sidekick types, there still aren't a whole lot of gay leads at the moment.

Six Feet Under had two gay characters in the main cast. The show isn't currently on T.V. but given that it's a drama with a tight focus on its small cast forced the characters to be more than stereotypes. Some of the later story arcs get a little silly but overall it's not bad.

If you're looking for a lot of deep examination or exploration of gay individuals or sub-culture you're probably not going to find any. I suspect that sort of story wouldn't "sell" (at least in the eyes of the networks) and subsequently most LGBT characters are regulated to sidekick rolls.

And I suspect a lot of the writers aren't LGBT individuals so many of them do become caricatures.

Pretty stereotypical? That's like saying the Queen is just a little wealthy! :p

United States of Tara had a great one, the rest of the show was a bit rubbish, but the family dynamics were really well done. Of course, that was cancelled a few years ago now.

Happy Endings has a great and non-stereotypical gay main character. On another note, everyone should watch happy endings so it doesn't get cancelled.

Edit: missed that you were asking for dramas. Go watch Buffy or Angel.

Hmm, they all are stereotypical.

I just found the perfect way of getting guys on apps to leave you alone. Just say you're looking for love or romance and they'll run screaming like you set them on fire.

so, here's how it went down:

As I said I wrote him:
"It was 4 months ago we met for the first time"
"I guess this is it for us"

3 hours later (near 3AM) he replies:
him: D:
me: I'm tired of waiting
him: Mmm... ok
him: it's ok if that's what you've decided
him: don't worry
me: I don't know what else to say
me: I feel I can only count on you whenever you have the time for me
him: It's complicated but if you'll feel better that way, it's ok
me: What else can I do then? Do you think it's fair?
him: no, it isn't.

I didn't answer back since he pretty much admitted I was right (not like I was expecting any kind of validation but what else could I say?)

I don't feel good now but I'm sure it'll pass. I just hate being let down, time after time.

Nope. You don't have to be Mexican to enjoy the wonders of their cuisine, you know!
Mexican food <3

One of the
two or three
upsides of living in Mexico. Last night I had godly mole verde, I swear mole verde is the best thing to ever come from Mexico.

It's not pretty (Mexican food rarely is), but oh GEESUS the deliciousness.
