Yeah, I am personally always a bit surprised when I hear people online (and my friends in real life) complain about tumblr. I guess most use it to find fans of certain TV shows, and apparently the overall culture there leans towards "extreme PC" to the point where a lot of mocking pretend-tumblr posts go something like "How dare zhe presume to know my gender! I am a trans-otherkin bisexual third gendered orangutan that just happens to be trapped in a female body."
And then I just debate in my head whether I should point out that the pornographic side of tumblr is completely different and 1000x more useful. Seriously. I discovered fetishes through tumblr that I didn't even know I had.

Tumblr is an extremely sharp double-edged sword~ On the one hand, the surprising amounts of good porn, the peaceful feminism, the obscure fandoms, the cool bloggers... On the other hand, the hyper-aggresive social justice warriors, the oft bad layouts, and the animal killers whom I have seen far too often... Eh. It's alright, I suppose.

The good thing is that the hyper aggressive social justice warrior and animal killers are absent from the porn side of tumblr.
Bad layouts are mitigated somewhat by most tumblrs having archives.

Adore Delano was my favorite queen because I followed her on Youtube before she got into drag and found out about her through her friendship with Chris Crocker, and I always found her so funny, especially her character Angel Baby is everything, I was sad when people weren't feeling her early on in the competition but many turned around and started warming up to her, I agree she isn't the most polished queen but fuck if she isn't charismatic.
I've been obsessed with RuPaul's drag race lately, I wish I had gotten into the show earlier.

I had a lot of complaints about her in the drag race thread(a lot), but I'm excited to see where she goes with her career.

Adore(Danny) thought she wanted to be a woman in high school(If you look at pictures of Danny from that time, he looks like a teenage girl), but she found out that she was just a really feminine boy after her first sexual experience with a man.
Danny identifies as a boy.
I'm not even surprised considering some of the insane shit you see with dating-age posts.

The best "defense" I could offer for the kid is that our culture places such a large importance on men losing their virginity that it isn't surprising someone could violently react when they find themselves unable to lose it. Virgin shaming is actually a pretty big issue, and it is very mentally damaging. And that's less a defense of the kid and more trying to find some reason for his actions other than "mental illness/crazy."
So why are we using female pronouns if Adore identifies as male? I am confused. Is it considered polite to use female pronouns because he plays a female character?
Drag Queens are often referred to as "she" when in Drag.

Yeah, it's the polite thing to do unless they say otherwise. Some queens are genderqueer, and some are transsexual women. So you wanna be careful about your pronouns.

Grammar nazis hate singular "they" even though it has been used that way before. I like singular they though.
It's like when you spend ages looking for something only to realize it was lying right in front of you. They might not be perfect, but it's a hell lot better than he/she or an invented word you have to explain to every person.

I still refer to the queens as she even if they're dressed as their boy selves. Especially when they're uber feminine men(Like Adore, Courtney, Gia, etc.)
They usually don't care if you call them he or she.
Your parents are very nice! They're a blast to hangout with, and I hope that Chicago thing works out too :* this trip has entirely been a blast. I can't wait to visit again...soon

I've never really used Tumblr for fandom-related stuff. Probably because Pixiv fills most of my needs as far as that goes.
And I used to hate wrestling leotards before Tumblr showed me the error of my ways.
Oh jeez. 70% of the time most layouts bring my mid-range 2013 laptop to its knees.
Maybe this is why Harlequin keeps rejecting all of my manuscripts.
I'm struggling to imagine why people who constantly have trouble interacting with potential dates would do anything but blame themselves for it

You've never attempted something, failed numerous times, and then blamed something else? Ie. "I failed the class because the teacher fucking sucks." "I fucking lost this round because of lag!" etc..
The only real solution for the socially incompetent is to not try at all. No dangerous frustration there.

I need to vent a bit and need some guidance. I went on a date a while ago with someone that I met on a dating site. He has a lot in common with me and I enjoy talking to him. I enjoyed our date but I just don't know how I feel about him. I don't think I like him. The problem is that this has happened to me before. I'll start talking to a guy and get really excited that we have so much in common but then when we hangout all that disappears. I feel crappy because I have such a hard time liking people.
