Just entered into the Singles Club after the end of a 5.5 year relationship. Feels weird. I don't even know what to do anymore.

A slow build up of little things driving me crazy (codependency, laziness, lack of ambition), topped with a giant layer of "I am not physically attracted to you at all." Basically a few years of Lesbian Bed Death finally did me in.

Wow, sounds just like me. Well, in my case he's very physically fit and attractive, I'm just not mentally attracted at all. Just shows looks aren't everything.

Definitely. I have a real problem with going, "Oh, you are single and like girls? Let's try something out!" even if I'm not physically attracted to her at all. I need to get pickier.

As per the physical affection discussion, I've never been a visibly affectionate guy. I just feel weird being affectionate with someone unless it was with a BF (need to get me one of those first though)

It really is, calling it gay isn't exactly helping. And it's not just straight guys either, gay guys are insecure as well, the term straight-acting really rubs me the wrong way, it's so stupid.

Luckily there are guys out there who don't give a shit, and they are usually the most fun to be around.

Oh great, the guy I've been talking to has to go home till the 30th, I've the worst luck with dudes it seems. He's the only one who was showing interest past the first date/hookup (well the only one that I too found attractive). Oh well, maybe we'll hang out when he comes back.

I'm one of those guys that don't show affection at all but the reason behind is that I don't think I should do it or I don't find myself being affective at all

I'm the total opposite with affection, especially in public. It really makes me cringe for some reason lol, it makes me feel really cynical.

It seems to me that a lot of gay guys have absurdly high expectations, not just when it comes to personality but looks as well. But maybe I'm just going to the wrong places and I don't make a great first impression either.

I know there are people who are like that with everyone, and that's fine. I was just talking about guys who avoid touching other guys to not look gay/less manly.

Honestly, I'm not very affectionate either, unless I'm intimate with someone. Some aspects of my personality are pretty oldfashioned, not due to philosophy or anything, there are just sides to me that I don't want everyone to have access to. And honestly I do think a lot of people that are quite affectionate can sometimes seem insincere, or to be crossing the lines of appropriate manners. It's tiresome though when people seem to compulsively avoid normal human modes of interaction because they're afraid of seeming queer.
