Yeah, as you've said, the art direction didn't seem to provide many opportunities for them to be as creative as Pocahontas's Colors of the Wind sequence, an all-powerful genie with shape-shifting abilities, or a octopus sorceress siphoning your voice from your throat.
Your taste is great. I was just thinking about that fantastic "Colors of the Wind" sequence. It's like Fantasia entered one of their musicals for a few minutes.
Speaking of villainous/villainess songs, you've gotta have "Poor Unfortunate Souls" on your list for the campy fun alone, movie or Broadway.
