Has anyone seen the web series The Outs? Season 2 just released, but I haven't seen it yet. Season 1 is free and accessible via their website (theouts.com).
It's a drama/comedy that is pretty dark and biting at times. It has a layered overall plot driving everything forward that I enjoyed as it unfolded, and I like the characters (even if some are not always "pleasant."). I binge rewatched it last night in preparation for Season 2, and I think I got more out of it as a binge experience. I think the show gets better as it goes on, but I'd say that if you watch the first 3 episodes and you aren't engaged, it's not worth continuing. I will also say that I feel Ep. 1 doesn't necessarily give a good indication of the series as a whole (or at least why I enjoy it), so I wouldn't give up based on that alone.

Yeah, but I'd say that anything past a certain point gets really hard to handle. I see couples making 10 year anniversaries and can only imagine what their relationship has gone through.

I feel like if I don't go back to school and/or get a much better job soon then I'm gonna have a tough road ahead. The only thing I'd go back to school for would be Game Design though, and I've heard thats not the best profession (from GAF at least).

You should try to find some volunteer work that isn't too heavy so you can add stuff your resume, get experience, network and find more opportunities.
Also, certifications if you can too.

I've never had any gay friends irl. The closest I've gotten (outside of you guys & gals) is my family's close family friends and they were in their 30s when I was still single digits.

I actually have the opposite problem. I don't know enough straight friends here in LA/West Hollywood. Don't get me wrong, I love my friends but I feel a little too insular. I had more straight friends in San Diego. But then again, how many friends does one really need? I already sometimes feel a little overwhelmed balancing friends/family/school/work/love.

You aren't wrong. I think the only thing that I've maybe noticed is a lot of friendships feel more transient now, because people are a lot more mobile (geographically, professionally, whatever). Friendships where you have a lot of dirt on each other can be pretty rewarding because shared history and stuff, but those can be pretty hard to grow, seems like it kind of has to be the right circumstances at the right time or something.
