I never had a birthday party either. I'm not good at organizing stuff. Best I could do is invite everyone to a bar and give everyone drinks for free.

I love going to my nieces and nephews birthday parties. Plus there's always older family members to hang around with.

Yup. This is one of my favorite parts. I always try to steer the conversation so that it comes back around to family history, how the city/its people/businesses have changed or remained the same, events that happened before I was born, etc. Then, later on when I'm walking around the city and see locations they've talked about, I just smile quietly.

Unfortunately for me, Atlanta has been pretty much the same damn place since the mid 90s minus the crime.

Ahh.. my parents, their parents, their grandparents, etc are all from this area, so I like picking older relatives' brains while they're still alive.
What I'd eventually like to do someday is get each older relative to spend half a day riding around the city with me so that I can record them telling me what this building was and what that building was, what happened at this location, etc etc.
Dad told me one time that one location that's currently a frou-frou antique/furniture store used to be a place where my grandparents & great-grandparents used to shop for live chickens, eggs, etc. They'd go there, pick-out which chicken they wanted, and it would be slaughtered for them to take home. I loooove stories like this.
I've come to the probably sad conclusion I should drink less and less. New meds seemingly strip out the euphoria aspect but turn around and get me drunker far faster than I'm used to. Had less than a glass of wine and suddenly was an expert at wobblevision.

I prefer tequila to beer (shots, because they're over with quickly and some beer aftertaste is odd), but I actually really love hard apple cider. There's also a great-tasting raspberry beer I like.
I don't drink often, though. I want to be drunk when playing L4D2 or something one of these days. That will be my excuse to get drunk for the first time.

Same. It doesn't help that most of the people in my family hate each other or have very strained relationships, so family get togethers (as rare as they thankfully are) are always tense and uncomfortable.

Same too! Grew up with my Mom and Dad constantly trash-talking other family members and telling us stories of how other family members were fake people or terrible people. Even after a party, they say stuff like "What a waste of money" or "The food was terrible" and shit like that.

Yeah, I can't really get past the burning sensation. And I don't really like the taste of most beers.
However, I am willing to taste new things to see of they'll change my mind.

I still can't finish a pint on my own (have been drinking for three years), but in good company they just disappear and I'm able to drink Vodka out of the bottle.

Yep, for sure! the future will be bright for birthday memories! and OMG, Jigglypuff just looks insanely cute in the new Smash Bros, and she got lots of buffs as well, she's definitely much improved from Brawl, I thank Sakurai for bringing her back in all this glory.

Oh yeah, no I don't imagine it's hard to get drunk. But what about non drunk drinking? I imagine because of the rules you can't like go to the pub to watch the footbal while having a couple of pints on a Sunday afternnon; or finish a day of clothes shopping with a light pasta and some sex on the beach and or blue lagoon, right?
