Got mine last night along with protective case... love it! Also love that Limited Run is on the back art.. but I do not remember it saying like LR #1 or anything like that.. would have been cool to have either on the back or spine..

But either way... thank you for offering this service, looking forward to the next!

It should say #1 in the logo on the back if I'm not mistaken.

I don't have the protective cases in my hands to know the exact dimensions to answer myself. Do they fit other types of game cases and movie cases besides Vita and PS4?

The PS4 cases fit Blu-Rays and PS3 as well (and steelbooks for those platforms). The Vita cases are specialized and will only fit Vita games.

On the topic of second hand price: it will probably tumble down to $40/$50 and settle there for a while. I expect the value to rise as people catch on to us during later releases. As more people decide they want a full Limited Run set, second hand quantity will diminish and prices will rise. Not that I particularly care about what it sells for online, I just know some folks take solace in knowing something they own is valuable.

Man. My 64GB memory card is bursting at the seams. I'm bleeding games trying to fit new ones. I love my Vita and I have dozens of games coming out in 2016 I want to play. But I am going to have a hard time fitting them.

Meaning physical versions of these games makes a huge difference to my longterm health. Even though it's kind of self-indulgent, I have made a list of all the Vita games I would 100% buy physical versions of.

-Grim Fandango
-Day of the Tentacle
-Chromophore: Two Brothers
-YIIK
-Hyper Light Drifter
-Axiom Verge
-Banner Saga
-Guacamelee!
-Severed
-Bastion
-Heart forth, Alicia
-Slain!
-Salt and Sanctuary
-Cosmic Star Heroine (woohoo!)
-Papers, Please
-Never Alone
-Iconoclasts
-Pixel Noir
-Rain World
-Dragon Fin Soup

If I can even get SOME of these games on cartridges, it would be incredible. But, really, when I think about it, I would buy any game I already planned on buying on a physical cartridge.

I agree with the value dropping a bit at first and then rising in a few months or a year. There a small, fixed number of copies available. As more end up in the hand of collectors there won't be many copies available for purchase on a consistent basis.

When you combine that with more collectors entering into collecting for the Vita as they realize the library is full of RPG's, niche titles, and small print runs and Limited Releases the demand will increase.

There will also be those that will end up wanting a complete set of the games releases by Limited Run Games. That all adds up to a fixed supply decreasing as demand increases.

Something I was curious about. I've noticed that when there's a physical release of a PS4 game that's really small, like MGSV Ground Zeroes (under 4GB), they still use a full Blu-ray Disc for it even though it could fit on a single-layer DVD. Given that you guys are doing physical releases for small indie games that could fit on DVDs (or possibly even CDs in some cases), I was wondering if you could discuss why this happens? Is there some policy in place? Does the whole 'your physical game installs on the HDD but only plays if it knows the disc is in the drive' thing only work with BDs?

From slowest to fastest read rates, CD, DVD, then Bluray. So best to go with Bluray if cost per disc is small over DVD and CD.

Did not know Skullgirls is already getting a physical release somewhere in the world. Nobody bothered to answer in the Indivisible thread. Looking forward to a LRG one. Unlike the oversea version of just 2nd Encore, I would like ours to be a compilation release of all versions. Think Street Fighter II compilation. Just stuff all of the already released PSN releases onto a bluray disc or Vita cart and select via simple boot-up loader. See if you can try to make this happen.

The protective case is different from what I thought it would be. I thought of more like the hard plastic game cases found at Best Buy. Instead, it is the soft plastic case like a DVD slipcase.

They're already struggling to get Skullgirls out on the Vita at all. I don't think it'd be worth the effort at all to get the older versions of it on it as well, especially considering how there's not too many differences between them. Correct me if I'm wrong as I haven't played since near the original release + a little of Encore, but given that both Encores were only released for reasons separate than just wanting to do an updated version (the legal issues and then new consoles), weren't they largely the same but with additions?

I know nothing about this product since it was a digital download only. Waiting on a physical version to purchase. Seeing 1st and 2nd Encore appended to the title reminds me of SF2. I am sure hardcore fighting fans can pinpoint all of the minor tweaks and differences across versions. Maybe just do compilation on PS4 if it ain't too hard? Didn't know about it being difficult on Vita. I saw PSN and PS4 and Vita on the list of formats its on. What legal issues?

The read rates have nothing to do with it though - every disc-based PS4 and Xbox One game is installed on the hard drive and read from there, precisely because HDD read speeds trump any disc.

Also, are you sure the read speeds for Blu-ray are better? I remember hearing that one of the reasons for the PS3's frequent partial game installs was due to the 2x-speed Blu-ray drive reading at only 9MB/s, slower than the DVD read speeds on the 360. That's been improved on current gen with 6x 27MB/s BD drives, but I would've thought the CD/DVD read speeds would have gotten a similar boost and still been faster.

edit: Just Googled it, seems a 12x DVD drive is about 16.5MB/s, so it would indeed be slower (unless the PS4's drive can read DVDs at 24x speed?). Still, with these small indie games I actually can't see that being a massive issue with people when you mostly only have to install the game the first time you get it.

Mine turned up today as well (also in the UK). Glad to get this for my collection, I'll have to give the game a shot when I get the chance.

Installing to the HDD has nothing to do with format. The blu-ray format has better copy protection options above what DVD and especially CDs provide, and tighter controls on who's actually allowed to press BDs. I don't think Sony's ever going to allow PS4 code to reside on any disc format other than a BD-ROM. Same was true with the PS3.

Ahh, that explains it. Thanks.

Apparently, LRG is going subscription based to allow early access to purchase an order before they open to the public. More info coming this week. Awesome news for die-hard collectors that don't want to wait online all day and battle against scalpers every release.

Just got my copy (germany). Unfortunately the postman forced it into my mailbox so the case is pretty badly bend. Other than that 2 weeks delivery is not bad.

We've already decided that we're writing "Definitely not porn" on all of our mailers for future releases.
