There's another Chester in there who wants to take me down
Flashbacks to teenage me listening to "New Divide" on end.
Rest in peace.
Almost all of my friends on Spotify are listening to Linkin Park right now.
In the wake of Chester Bennington's death on Thursday (July 20), sales of his band Linkin Parks music grew tremendously, according to Nielsen Music. Based on initial U.S. sales reports for July 20, the combined sales of Linkin Parks catalog of albums and songs increased by 5,332 percent (as compared to sales on July 19).
On July 20, the bands albums sold 21,000 copies (up from less than 1,000 on July 19), while their collected songs sold 90,000 downloads (up from 2,000 the previous day).
In total, the acts albums and songs sold 111,000 copies on July 20 (versus 2,000 the day previous) -- a gain of 5,332 percent.
The groups best-selling album on July 20 was its most recent studio album, One More Light, which sold more than 6,000 copies that day (up from a negligible figure on the day previous). The set, which was released in May, debuted atop the Billboard 200 albums chart, granting the act its sixth chart-topper.
It's my favorite tune off that albumI kind of wish I had flashbacks like you guys. I don't think there has ever been a point in the last 15 years though that I didn't put linkin park on at some point to listen to them.
they are by far my most listen discography and thus there is only one song that gives me any sort of flashback. What I've done... and that is only because the day the single dropped I was coding in a lab and played it on repeat like 150 times in a row and by the end knew every single beat in that song. The rest have just been with me through out my life aside from a select few tracks I just don't like
wretches and kings.... bleh

though it's decently unique sounding so I am sure there are people that love it.

When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some reasons to be missed
And don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory
Leave out all the rest
It's too bad about his kids. I hope they can get on well with life.
Does anyone think the critical bashing of the new album played a part in this? It's never really talked about, but I think the idea that critics never liked the band much weighed on him. I can't say I was a huge fan, but I liked a couple songs.
If it played a part, it would be a very minor one.
This is all about someone who couldn't face the world after the death of someone very close to him.
After a day and a half of listening to linkin park albums on Spotify, I'm really gratefully to have saw them live in concert back in 2003 when they toured with Metallica on the summer sanitarium tour. Hybrid theory might have gotten the most airplay back when I was a junior in HS but Meteora takes the cake as truer best album.

Can we stop the speculation on the man's private life and how it impacted his mindset leading up to this, please? Literally none of us are qualified to comment or voice an opinion without sounding like douchebags.
Fuck yes, good can come out of this.My younger brother and I never really got along or talk much, but we did share a mutual teenage affection for Linkin Park. Chester's death has us talking again for the first time in ages and remembering the concerts I drove him to.

Let people grieve.
Gossip isn't respectful grieving.

quite frankly you causing a ruckus over how others are grieving is not respectful grieving especially going as far to call others douchbags for doing so. If you don't like how others are grieving don't pay attention to them.

Quit grief policing. It's not your place to decide for others how to process this.

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation
You build up hope but failure's all you've known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go,
When I think of Chester I remember his smile...
His laughter, intelligence, kindness and talent.
That absolutely unforgettable voice that was at once - delicate, ferocious and always full of emotion.
Witnessing his life taught me a lot. Especially about commitment, about kindness, about hard work, about the pursuit and achievement of dreams and mostly, about love.
I know that both his family and his band were a massive source of inspiration and pride for him. It was clear to me that he was deeply grateful for both the people that surrounded him and the life that he had.
My heart goes out to his family, friends, band and fans.
A tragic loss of an absolute legend.
We will miss you.
I don't see how going on with the tour is even an option. Who can they get to do Chester's vocals?
They should go on with the audience alone doing the vocals. Can you imagine how much love and support that would provide both the band and the fans?
