I left for work right as the two people were on the ground/getting searched and assumed it was over.

What the hell have I missed?

Second chase. Dude got away under an overpass by hopping into another car. They found the truck (via social media?) he got into and are tailing it now. Unsure if it's a carjacking or accomplice.

Wasn't that a whole other chase not affiliated with this one?

2nd chase lead to the 3rd chase, note the picture of this truck leaving the underpass probably 15 seconds after the car went under the same underpass (and abandoned)

Dude from Chase 2 stopped his stolen car under an overpass, out of sight, and car-jacked a truck - cops didn't know for about 5 minutes, as they thought he was on foot around the overpass still.

You have to wonder how people still think they can outrun a chopper and the radio.

It's usually when it's very high speed and in residential areas. On the highways like this it's very uncommon unless they're doing 100mph+

Sort of depends on the head start, and if you have a car that can do 160mph+ for an extended period of time and good tires (and enough space on the freeway to go that fast without crashing). Choppers aren't really any faster than a cruiser. Radios are tricky but literally if they don't have a car fast enough to keep up even if they enter on the freeway ahead of you. I guess they could put spikes down though.

It's fairly common for example for a crotch rocket to blow by a parked cop car speed trap doing 150mph+ and most likely the cop won't even attempt to catch up.

If this isn't a carjacking he should have gotten dropped off after the truck cleared the hot area after the underpass.

I don't see that working a second time. It didn't really even work the first time since they eventually figured it out.

Seems like only because 1 cop went that direction, rather than stopping under the bridge. Eventually must have noticed something, or the guy didn't have patience of not running from a confused cop.

The stream that had the Chopper video feed with the augmented reality road network was very awesome.

Cop choppers are still around, and I'm sure they have multiple ones up and rotating service.
