Next year we'll see this:

Miss me with that bullshit. We overwhelmingly voted for Hillary.

It's an upper-middle class area though, so yes the cops are very well-funded.

those aren't necessarily mutually exclusive things. i meant no offense. but being upper middle class and the number of civilians interfering tells you something.

lol

Lol my post came out more snarky than I intended. I mean yeah... plenty of (non-minority) people around here think it's kinda cool, but there's no question our police force is over-funded and militarized. This isn't exactly a crime-ridden area. But good luck trying to cut their funding; that's some political suicide right there.

nbc saying they have a guy claiming driver is his brother and he has a mental illness.

Dude did some good driving for having a mental illness. I mean, he at least had the wherewithal to avoid the confrontation, evade spike strips, control himself out of a few pit maneuvers, and escape going in reverse nearly pulling off a J-turn.

Mental illness or not, I don't think that's the reason we're currently at this point in the situation.

yeah i'm just throwing it out that they've reported it, even though they don't even know who the guy is, much less this "brother" of his.

Jesus christ, ANOTHER armored vehicle? That's four now?

I don't think my country even has four armored vehicle for police operations.

anchors acting like SWAT guys get impatient because they themselves are impatient. sure, maybe that's happened before? but they are literally trained for long standoffs.

So, I'm wondering...Is there a good reason to put these on the news? I know it lets people know to avoid the area. It seems like the culture down there, and #ChaseGAF assembles and people drop what they're doing and everything...

It's exciting, and entertaining but doesn't it glamorize it and make other chases more likely? Maybe not, but it's a thought I have every time I see one of these.

What's the movie where someone has a hole in the bottom of their car, pulls up on top of a sewer cover, and ditches the car through the bottom?

I guess to let people know to avoid an area
