Lol my post came out more snarky than I intended. I mean yeah... plenty of (non-minority) people around here think it's kinda cool, but there's no question our police force is over-funded and militarized. This isn't exactly a crime-ridden area. Dude did some good driving for having a mental illness. I mean, he at least had the wherewithal to avoid the confrontation, evade spike strips, control himself out of a few pit maneuvers, and escape going in reverse nearly pulling off a J-turn.

Mental illness or not, I don't think that's the reason we're currently at this point in the situation.

It's exciting, and entertaining but doesn't it glamorize it and make other chases more likely? Maybe not, but it's a thought I have every time I see one of these.
