Thats the incident that made them mandatory for carrying by police in LA.

Yep, they were completely outgunned by only two guys. It's still amazing to me that no officers got killed, though many were shot.

that situation yes, but that's one in a how many years, in the end the swat did what they are there to do, react in extreme situations

And a lot of officers got shot while waiting for SWAT to arrive.

I like how the cops are resting their arms on the cars, I think one with the rifle has his elbow on one too.

They look like they're getting tired standing up too.

Man... disheartening all the "KILL THE GUY!" comments from the YouTube feed, but considering some of the comments when the female reporter came on the screen I guess I shouldn't be surprised. :/

i know that, but think of the cons, now in every situation they immediately pull the assault rifles and that don't help suspects to surrender easily

Youtube/Twitch comments are basically the internet's stream of consciousness. And the internet is a racist, sexist piece of shit.

It's a precaution. I mean, what will help him surrender? If you have 10 guns pointed at you, what difference does it make if some of them are rifles?

A typical loaded handgun weighs almost 2 pounds. Holding that up for a long time is tiring. More importantly muscle fatigue will affect aim and recoil control.

They do it just to get a rise. No need to pay attention to that.

I think at this point he's going to fall asleep before he decides to step out.

Try maintaining an aiming pose with a gun for 5 minutes and you will know why they do that, much less something that could last for hours.

I keep feeling like the NBC helicopter lady is gonna say something she shouldn't on TV. She keeps muttering like shes pissed off.

Who would you surrender to, a guy armed to the teeth or a police that seem reasonable and friendly? Ever wonder what a negotiator does?

I mean it's almost been 25 years after all.

Yeah, I'm aware. It's just insane to me that I'm old I guess. I remember it like it was yesterday. Vividly.

I'm so tired of feeling Knicks pain from the 90's. It never goes away. Keep jacking up those threes John.

it's gotta suck to be to cop who has to break off the chase to cite that white van that tried to block the chase suspect and fucked it up.
