But only for the subset of women who've been raised in this ironically juvenile way of thinking (classical/traditional; games are toys, toys are for kids, only kids are allowed to play etc.); there's men that think this way too, but that's probably because they've been around/trying to date women like this.

She must not be married or have kids because they would be gamers. Its every kid these days. Its sad she would hate her kids. :messenger_crying:

Ultimately it should be about balance.

Video games only are a problem if they impact the rest of your life negatively eg health, occupation, family.

My wife would prefer if I did not play any video games. But she overlooks this because I have a "good job" and earn a comfortable living.

But there is a negative stigma to play video games. When we dated I did not disclose to her gaming is one of my hobbies. I only told her when we got married(!)

For our gaming bros, there isnt many of them but some women like to sit with u when u play and watch u doing it, from what i noticed they enjoy doing that when u play games with big world/interesting story, can be all kinds of rpgs(but not turnbased:p), think witcher 3, ff7r, elden ring, even morrowwind from older/not so goodlooking anymore),
So usually some singleplayer games who have interesing story, absolutely no multiplayer shooters of any kind, too much is happening in those at the same time on top of 0 story so its very offputing.

I guess everyone can have their preferences.

Personally I have only come across a woman that had issues with gaming. The rest of them are into it or don't particularly care. I wouldn't have a relationship with a person that has a strong opinion on a simple hobby.

I'm married now and while she doesn't care for games (other than Candy Crush), she doesn't really mind I like gaming. I play less nowadays and sometimes she actively looks for opportunities for me to play some more.

How else can she gaslight you all day? You have to look good,be a pornstar in bed,and have fun only doing what she likes.

Stop having fun hobbies filthy men!!!

Jada Pinkett Smith Point GIF by Red Table Talk

Ofcourse, this is all a woman's fantasy that doesn't apply in real life in most cases because they still need men at the end of the day so they have to compromise as much as they must hate it but some of them still try.

Funny thing is It's the undesireable ones that make statements like this. Avoid any woman that interferes with either your hobbies or your familly like that. She's bad for you.

My ex gf was like that,so instead of quitting games,I quit her and I've never been happier.

Honestly, I'm at an age where I couldn't care less if someone doesn't approve of my hobbies. Feed em, fuck em, and send em home so you don't have to hear them whine about what you do in your spare time.
Bingo, the best aproach, life is too short and you're doing your own self a disservice trying to please someone that tries to change who you are.

Women don’t find it to be an attractive hobby. Accept it and move on. Hopefully you are well rounded enough and bring enough to the table to still be an attractive package. A guy who otherwise has it together and games a bit will do fine. The dude who games 40 hours a week and has little else of substance going on isn’t going to do well.

None of this should be a surprise to anyone here.

Stereotypes of gamers are not attractive.

So don't be a stereotype. Lift heavy weights, eat correctly, be kind, confident, and well-read. Has worked for me for 17 years of marriage. We're both fit and healthy and seen as attractive - and I got her into games.

Make it your mission to dispel the stereotype. Also never, ever take personal advice from influencers. Ever.

Yup.

It’s also funny guys in this thread seem to think this is only a thing with hot and “materialistic” women.

And so many women wonder why they can’t find good men. Maybe stop being stupid and immaturely selective. It’s like the guy from Shallow Hal that’s can’t date a hot chick because her second toe is longer than the big one.

Ngl. I actually speak from experience: The women who get so up in arms about stuff like this are actually the ones you want to keep away because they're one-night stand material (always use protection) at best.

Of course, if you obsess over video games (or any other hobby for that matter), then not getting any girls is the least of your problems, probably.

U are a guy like all of us, bro, u know we dont give a damn what women do for hobby, we look for youth, fertility, beauty when it comes to shortterm, longterm add to that femininity, being agreeable, giving peace.
I mean we all know what we want as guys, no need to troll :p

I mean, nobody should have one singular hobby, having one hobby is just as much as a negative as no hobby's at all.

You can't completely consume yourself into one thing or nothing, that just inherently shows you are not open to anything or lack curiosity and enjoyment in living life as a whole

My girlfriend doesn’t care, and most of the women I dated before her didn’t care either. I always found it was less that gaming was a turnoff and more that they had this stupid mindset that a man couldn’t possibly enjoy gaming and be responsible, have a social life, exercise, etc.

My shit test when dating was seeing how she handled playing Mario Kart & Mario Party 😂. If she didn’t actively try to win then I knew it wasn’t going to work lol.

this poll, wait, do i have to have a gf to be considered attractive? lol
Even better if u got no official gf but roster, that means u dont have to give out bf energy and u still get to rearrange their guts while they hope u chose that one and compete for u fiercely, then u know u are a catch :)

Shes right. All my ex girlfriends hated videogames. They just had to deal with it. Is not like all gamers are ugly mofos, its the hobby that they dont find actractive and the reason is very simple. Videogames are time consuming, and girsl like atention. Solution, finding a girl that also play videogames. :D

This looks with ulterior motive, most likely sality. I am pretty sure gaming is seen as +ve. Reason being they guy will go out less and also likely that he is geek/nerd.

If you're playing games, you're not paying attention to her. You're also not out there working to provide for her. So, from her perspective, you are useless to her, maybe lazy.

Some women don't like seeing their men get excited and absorbed by something other than them. They get jealous.

And of course, there is the traditional "nerd" stereotype associated with videogames. Even if you look like a stud, women still have that association in their heads.

This is true. Just want team player to journey through life together. Instead of being a obstacle.

If it's right or wrong women feel that way is not the question.

She's not wrong. Gaming (in general) is not a desirable quality to most women.

It's not really that debatable.

For example, girls being extremely overweight is not a desirable quality to men.

Does she understand about 99% of men play some form of video games? What does she want? Someone who just works 80 hours a week so she can sit on her can all day?

This reminds me of the 'gamers stink' stuff the games media used to put out. Yeah, some of them smell like absolutely trash. But have you been to a store in general? Most people smell like trash, not just gamers. I guess men that are into sports is the peak male figure. I mean, just look at this piece of lust right here:

pg2_a_packersfan_580.jpg
I hope she understands it works both ways - a guy who is successful and handsome is swimming in girls trying to catch him. If games are interesting part of his life he will not waste time with a broad playing “hard to get”, he will find someone else.

I play classical piano and Diablo Iv, it’s not either or thing.

What’s however interesting is all the types of articles always mention women judging men, not the other way around.

Bro, girls love rollercoasters, they dont get that dating a nerd/geek, they usually wont even admit it but thats why u gotta have a bit(or a lot;p) from a badboy, they will feel more attracted to u once they know/see/suspect other women are chasing u, i know it doesnt make sense from men's perspective but both sexes are vastly different not only in looks but in a way they think and their behaviour :)

My wife of 9 years has even said if she could change one thing about me it’s my passion for games.

I never hid it from her though, and it is what it is. She on the other hand barely has a hobby? She reads if that counts but so do I.

Like I get it. Gaming doesn’t make sense to most women and they’ve been engrossed to think it’s bad.

This applies to any hobby, nothing to do with gaming itself.

A lot of her videos have way under 10K views. Why are we paying attention to her opinions?

I’d agree that it’s understandable to look more favorably on hobbies that have tangible benefits to other people like cooking, gardening, making things, etc. but it seems like most women watch TV which is no less unproductive than video games.

I don’t know why there’s always been an attack on video games specifically.

“Aren’t you too old to be playing games”… Bitch aren’t you too old to be watching Friends on repeat for the 20th time, you’re 50 and you’re still relating to a group of people in their 20s yet somehow that’s OK but this is bad.
