I'm still confused as to how they go into Elder Tale in the first place. It wasn't some kind of VR machine or anything. It was a desktop MMO that used a keyboard and mouse.

Yea, we have not nor have the characters learned that information. Maybe this is what The Observers have to tell them.

probably the worst animated fights in the season. that breaking out of window scene lol.

hope they save some of that animation budget for the finale(s)

Log Horizon Season 2, Episode 24:

I see we are keeping this mini-arc refreshingly simple and we are going in a direction I was not expecting.
The Enternal Moths are apparently Genius Monsters that have nested at the source of the other quest. Clearly somebody is pulling the strings here, but whom and for what purpose? Anyway, we are going to be closing out the season the way we started by engaging an epic raid. I am going to miss Log Horizon and I do hope we get that third season. At the very least we are not getting any god damned gecko endings that would run the series.

OMG Shiroe , that look at the end of episode 24 ... i almost cried of joy when i saw that...

"thirty minutes are enough"

^^^ and then you have the whole log horizon guild + tea party that know that he is BACK ...

our vilain !! The best vilain in anime smiled.

yeah animation was bad... except for that few seconds of animation when the underground plant thing came out lol.

But man... that ending smile is so hype. Come on next week!

Episode 24

What I loved most about this episode was the fact they at least made an effort to give a bit of personaility to the other members of the raid besides just Shiroe and his buddies.

Is the old man a person of the land or a real player?

Tohya continues to be the star of this anime, he always has the best lines to say and like last episode reaffirms his stance of wanting to stay in this world. Im glad for him and for his little speech to really get everyone back focused on the goal at hand, and of togetherness. If the franchise ever gets a sequel, it needs to be focused on Tohya's adventures.

After watching episode 24, it seems like they only added all that stuff about everyone wanting to go back home in 23 in order to avoid any criticisms about escapism. With what they said this episode, about wanting to protect and help the people of the land, I think it's clear they aren't leaving the game world even if an exit were found, considering how the standard monsters would remain behind anyway.

Finally caught up after missing last week.

E23-24
The brief pause before the end of the season was good to slow things down a bit along with tie in a ton of stuff that has happened over the last season, including
ongoing political strife between differing countries, the effect adventures are having on it, progress and issues with communicating with the moon, and some new stuff no one has ever seen before. The whole communication tower bit coming along with the possibility that is could also mean a quick way to reach the moon makes me think the Observers are throwing a bit more in to keep the adventurers around. Glad to see that even this whole situation got Shiroe in a funk, which was even better when he came back full force with an idea to defeat the raid and not destroy the tower in under 30mins.

Animation in 23 was really bad, but at least we got some improvement in 24. Really really sad the season is drawing to a close, but I have hopes we'll get a season 3 if the LNs keep coming at as quickly as they have been.

Log Horizon Season 2, Episode 25:

I fear we may have just been handed the anime equivalent of Young Justice and the thought scares me, it scares me so very much. So much built up, so much potential for the future and yet so much waiting and that text, I feel like I am in a glass case of emotions. Log Horizon provided no gecko ending and there is ample material for a season three yet all we can do is play the waiting game for a distant dream that may never come but I want it, I want to see one of my favorite anime get the resolution it so richly deserves. Anyway, this was a solid end to a season that had problems but still solid and anybody who thinks otherwise I'll point them in the direction of Gundam Build Fighters Try and show them what a screwed up season season really looks like.

I agree, the waiting game now begins. I wonder what would happen first: getting the translated novels up to after this season or a new anime season. Still it will probably be years of waiting :(.

Thats it!? Dull end even if full of bells and whistles, and awful, how dare they show scenes of Tohya being beat up during the end credits, ugh.

In anycase, have the Light Novels preordered so I will be reading then.

Caught up and watched the last 3 episodes this morning.

Man...the wait is gonna be killer. :(

That Raid Boss was definitely giving me some SMT vibes there.
Good to see Crusty still lives (though carrying that still-moving arm was kinda creepy)!
But that shot of Roe 2 towards the end...was that another communications building on that island?

Log Horizon Season 2 END

It ended with such an amazing battle that showed off so much about what I love about MMOs. And now the wait begins. It hurts because I loved this show so much and there certainly is more story to tell, but I wonder if we'll ever see a season 3. I will hope against hope that it happens.
Oh and glad my curiosity about what happened to Crusty and Misa's arm have been satisfied.

Log Horizon 2 - END

Oh, I don't want it to be over. So many awesome developments were happening. The characters are all so lovable. Sure it didn't have an even somewhat reasonable budget but damn it all if it wasn't fun to watch. I desperately want to know what happens next, but I doubt there will be another season. A shame - I hope one day, at least, I get to hear the end of the story.

I was a little disappointed that Crusty was with Kanami however.... not as hype as I had hoped.

Wait... There's not going to be a 3rd season!? D:

We've caught up to the Light Novel. If there is a third season, it won't be for a few years. But I don't think the anime had a notable impact on Light novel sales (Which was basically the entire point of the anime), so we may never see a third season.

Not necessarily though. Log Horizon is a day time show aired in an education channel, not a late night anime. They've had multiple seasons for anime that sold basically nothing, like Phi Brain. I think the break due to lack of material might kill it though, since I doubt they'd wait long for new material.

We are still waiting for Spice and Wolf III are we not.

Sigh. Is Log Horizon gonna be the new 12 Kingdoms?

;_;

Way to open old wound, dude.

I just want to point out that i have all the 12 kindgoms books, the integrale in dvd AND blu-rays AND the 2 pS2 games

I also want to point out that i have both season in anime + the books of spice and wolf .

Now guess what i'm doing with log horizon ????

I have no regrets.

Log Horizon S2 - End

That was okay, I guess, but the entire season has been too disappointing for me to really care whether there will be another. It'll probaly take a few years if it's ever getting animated anyway.

Log Horizon S2 - End

Really really sad to see this season come to an end. It had a few weak spots, but overall it did a lot to subvert several MMO tropes and add a ton to the world and how our adventurers had impacted it. Plenty of earth-shattering events happened as well, giving us new questions on how everyone will get home, or if they even want to go. Nice to see they didn't go with a shit ending to wrap things up and left everything open for a possible season 3, which I want to see.

Glad to see Krusty is well and carrying Misa's functioning disembodied arm. That must have been one hell of an insane teleport for him to end up in another part of the world. Seems like there are tons of working communication relays all across the world too, so talking to the moon might not be as hard as they originally thought.

Kanami's last words too...her attitude that she wants her daughter to see that world. I teared up a bit, t how great that world was, just that they needed to get home. They have friends and companions, not only from the real world but NPCs as well. It really is a complicated, but fun world they happen to be stuck in. Let's hope Shiroe is able to complete the mission he was just handed.

Ugh...now to hope, pray, and wait for season 3.

Barely posted in this thread (if at all XD) but yeah glad to see a pretty good final episode to this second season. It's likely it'll be awhile until we get a third season but It likely will be finished at some point (seriously Fafner got a movie, and now a second season a decade later and most people don't even know about it XD) either way though I'll likely read the light novels at some point.

From what an anime blog I moderately pay attention to was saying both seasons were 10 volumes and there were 15 planned so we've got 2/3rds of the story done.

Also just wanted to mention my favorite part of this episode
Kanami showing up was amazing but her wanting to actually bring her child to this world was really gripping, and I like the way this is largely setting up what Shirou will try to do from here on out as I've felt the last few episodes made it feel like they were merely going to try and escape from this world instead of making a way to unite both worlds, a damn good idea that I really didn't see coming and it wasn't something Shirou had even thought of.

Yeah, I was hoping he'd be on the moon or some shit and have an awesome entrance but whatever. Lots of awesome developments and I'm kinda worried that this might not get a third season :x

Kaname is the worst mother confirmed. Also did it seem like to anyone else that Shirou
looked to be implied to be a deadbeat dad?

Oh god he really kept that hand.

Hehe, I was thinking that Kaname is either the coolest or the worst mother to ever live.

A living vampire alt, maybe a junior, and he was oblivious about both - guess is awareness is a wee bit too focused on game stuff.

Kanami's acting like a complete messiah for the setting though - after recruiting players, a farming bot and even a legendary NPC, she's planning on stretching her influence to her own family in the real world.
Does Elder Tale have a Charisma stat? She must have totally maxed hers, or she's just naturally that good.

I'm sad about the apparently delay this'll have between this and a following seasons - but then again, Genshiken eventually had a follow-up series, so I'm not giving up on the hope.

As for the arm, in this world, "medicine" is pointing at someone and letting a lightshow fix you up, reattaching an arm should be easy, so it's no wonder it still moves.

they totally need to dl the lua script for the threat table instead of just memorizing.

Anyone else cheer when Serara's wolf chan tackled the raid boss?

So ridiculous :3

Holy fuck that was awesome.

The season may have had some pacing issues/poor budget, but so much shit happened. Log Horizon went into overdrive on making use of the "trapped in an MMO" subject matter that no other show ever has. So many creative ideas on display.

I was happy when I saw that. Team Noob sure grew up.

Mamare-sensei is a genius.

Now go watch Maou Maoyuu Yuusha, it's his only other work that has been adapted - And is largely "Spice and Wolf, if Horo was female Shiroe"
And if you don't find that awesome, i don't know what to say.

Too bad it didn't get a S2, i think Mamare-sensei dropped the books to write Log Horizon :(

Pretty sure he finished the books actually - theres more than enough material for a season 2,3 etc. I watched the first few episodes and really enjoyed them but some GAFfers suggested I read the manga, which I will do when it is finished. Didn't watch any further because I want a definitive ending.

Wait.
Wait.
