That is so shit. What was that download people were pimping to get access to the BBC streams? I'm gonna just use that.

NBC will be probably be kind enough to activate the replays once the west coast gets a chance to see them in primetime, smh

The worst thing about the Olympics is that there's just too many damn sports to watch. 5+ hours of archery alone? And that's just for today. Shit...

I've use Expatshield for a bit, does it return my real ip after disconnect? I got no connection and had to restart.

It does for me, are you disconnecting (I know you said you did in your post, wondering if you actually right-clicked on it and chose "disconnect") before exiting the program?

I have the NBC channels on for the rare chance something I want to watch live is in HD on a 60 inch, otherwise BBC<3 all the way. Not messing with NBC streams tomorrow.

When you choose Disconnect/OFF it should open up a browser webpage where you click Disconnect. Then like 10 seconds later you should be able to load webpages in your native IP without closing or retarting the browser.

I disconnected in my Chrome since that's it pops up, so I have to disconnect, and exit the program to have my real ip return to me?

I've also added the exception to the firewall, maybe that'll help.

Does the BBC website have a convenient list of stream locations all the events for a day (say, tomorrow) like NBC at least managed to have?

More or less. You click on the sport and the day you're interested in and there should be boxes under each event that say "Catch Up" and will start a video.

I was trying to install the BBC player but avast said ws2_32.dll is a virus. Help?

Which BBC player exactly? The one from bbc-player.com? I ran a MSE scan on that and it didn't find anything, but I downloaded the .zip and not the install (not sure why you wouldn't opt for the portable version anyhow). But it doesn't matter, just download expatshield and use bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics for full coverage.

I Just rewatched some of the olympic opening ceremonies.

Man that Farmland to Industrialism and the Cauldron lighting really was the best.

I Could watch that farmland to industrialism transition over and over again.

I used the zip file as well, and when I tried to copy it stops at ws2_32.dll, claiming it is a trojan. I found a copy of ws2_32.dll in my sys folder, so use that instead.

I can launch the program, but no matter which channel I pick it is a black screen.

Asked earlier didn't see an answer.
Is Kiefer of USA fencing out?
Her aggression was really getting me into fencing. had to leave before her second match but heard she lost.

Yeah some people compared that bbc-player to malware so I'm glad to have the expatshield option.

Who would have thought it was possible? I'm watching a replay of the 400m IM!

Well like I said it really doesn't matter. BBC doesn't cover all of the events on TV either, just use expatshield for your VPN and use the BBC website.

I can't defend NBC at all for this. This is awful.

Thing is, though: They've done this every year I can remember when there is a time delay on the host country. I'm not surprised by this but seeing what is available as an option online, now I'm angry. Just too much monetization of something that should't be.

Well a delay for Beijing is more than understandable, and Athens was 8 years ago before Twitter and wide streaming availability.

This year though..man...

I really don't understand why they didn't just show the live events. It was Saturday, seems like showing live events during a Saturday afternoon would have been just fine.

Well they did it at Vancouver too, right? And here in two years we have Japan, so... welcome to the future.

Yeah she lost to the French woman I think ranked one ahead of her maybe 4th, Kiefer was fun to watch I am sure she will be back.

I not sure about the winter games, but yeah this will probably be what it is until 2022!

Yay

Just rewatched the Ye race (take that NBC!) holy moly at the last 100.

Oh wait, Italian woman I think ranked one ahead of her maybe 4th won, Kiefer was fun to watch I am sure she will be back and better.

ABC/ESPN should probably get the coverage. They at least showed the World Cup games live back when they were in Korea. I had to wake up at odd hours to catch games, but at least I was sure to see them live. PEACE.

So basically the number of people whose main way to consume media through internet has to surpass number of people who prefers TV for NBC to change their practice.

good riddance.

I mean what's the big deal of showing it live as well as on delay? Show it during the day and then show the compressed events at night. SHIT.
