That's odd. Working fine for me. NBC is using youtube to stream the video, so I can't see why it wouldn't work unless you have youtube blocked or something.

youtube vids is working fine for me,

i just opened a random Live Youtube stream, and it works.

i dunno what the hell is wrong

I'm back from the boxing and I have to say today was an amazing experience. Entering Stratford Station made me realise just how much of a global event the Olympics is. Everywhere you look you find a person representing another country. I took that idea for granted and expected the boxing crowd to be 95% British. Nope. You had groups of people from Kazakhstan, Japan, Cuba, Thailand, France and even Nicaragura there supporting their fighters along with other nationalities wanting to join in the fun.

I'll get into further details in the morning as I badly need to sleep. But this is already becoming one of the greatest experiences of my life.

Edit: I have a few phone pics posted on Twitter (@JamieOD) for those curious.

I didn't give a shit about the Olympics before they started and frankly was sick of the hype, now I wish I made more effort and maybe tried for some tickets or something although I bet transport is mad in London not to mention hotels whilst the games are on

Transport hasn't been to bad at all going to and from work today.

I'm too lazy / tired to translate it for the non-German GAF'ers but apparently it looks like Heidemanns hit came just in time with 1/100 of a second left on the clock.
The clock time itself is what's contreversial:
- the clock might have been started slightly too late every time, since this is done by hand
- the whole "extra second" affair

How are you guys watching these events? The only ones I see on television are:

Boxing, Rowing (just started, Judo just finished), and Qualifying Soccer/Football and Women's basketball.

I want to watch more Volleyball.

It's almost 12:30 in London..

I'm well aware of that, I'm shocked so many people would leave when Team GB are on.

It's not just Earl's Court either, the Aquatics centre, Wimbledon, all the venues seem to have loads of empty seats, just adds more fuel to all the ticket sales controversy.

BBC iPlayer. Nothing better, everything live and everything on archive :)

While possible, the first remark doesn't match what was shown in the later matches. When the clock hit 0:00, the buzzer rang. When the clock showed 0:01, there was a maximum of one second left.

The second remark sounds like a really stupid rule that needs to be changed.

Man I just watched that Fencing contoversy: http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/fencing/highlights-heidemann-shin-controversy.html

How could they possibly deny the appeal twice? After conferring for an hour they still determined that the three bouts was less than one second?

Well the BBC said, that the clock was reset to 1s one time because of a technical infringement by the Korean (a fight cant end on an infringement).

I dont know, honestly i dont even care anymore. It might have been a bad decision, but it was the referees decision. There's always a little controversy when a referee has to make a judgement call that decides the match. I mean if the Korean had won you could've made exactly the same argument for the German.

I think all this controversy stems from the depresssing image of a crying Shin on the piste and that the vast majority of the TV watchers arent knowledgeable enough to judge wheter it was a good decision or not. Yes Heidemann is German and she profitted from the decision, but i'll take her judgement and those of the referees over people who simply cry unfair while they dont know anything about the rules or the standard practices of fencing.

Lots of the tickets were given to companies and sponsors who obviously havent given them all out.

I'm hoping GB win this one so the sport gains more support in the UK. Not being able to move up the rankings because the team doesn't have enough funding to compete against other national teams is sad.

I can't believe a lot of British teams for this Olympics were pushed into attending without significant funding years before the games.
