Tv is obsolete , Net coverage is by far the best and has more credibility.
We get awarded the gold medal now, right? That's how this works, I'm sure of it.
I'm pretty disgusted by the lack of funding for a lot of these British Olympic teams. I'm going to lighten up on some of them, but double down on the overhyped swimmers. It's amazing they beat the 16th ranked team ranked 69 in the world, and HAVE HAD NO FUNDING FOR 2 YEARS.
amazing!
Great result. Really hope they'll actually get some funding now - it seems crazy that they haven't received any, especially when I keep seeing all those "Your athletes funded by you" lottery advertisements.
Haha, but what would we do if we couldn't enjoy the national pastime of shouting at the screen and watching our tennis players fail!Maybe they could have a little bit of the tennis budget? They don't seem to be using it.
the NBC app says archery and field hockey are upcoming. Are they, or are we talking in 7-8 hours?
And the track and field is yet to start.I'm definitely really getting into the Olympics.
It has been fun to watch so far.

Day 4 Schedule has Field Hockey at 8:20 (along with Badminton and Basketball), and Archery Eliminations at 8:55, so I'm edging towards "7-8 hours".the NBC app says archery and field hockey are upcoming. Are they, or are we talking in 7-8 hours?
I tried to buy Canoe Slalom tickets the other day after realising how much I enjoyed watching it - by the time I'd gotten it to log me in and accept my details the few they'd had available in my price range were gone. And shortly after that, so were the ones out of my price rangeBloody ticket website is a joke.
it accepted my details for some athletics tickets. Said I reserved them asking for card details. Put my card details within the time limit, pressed accept and it went back to the log in screen.
gotta admit... i'm finding the Olympics much more enjoyable overall than the Euros and i'm football mad
Yeah, but part of the fun of the Olympics for me is watching all these slightly more obscure sports that I never get a chance to see otherwise.
espn really does the total > gold thing. hahaha

The country that gets more gold medals is the winner , but U.S. always puts quantity over quality....
Bloody ticket website is a joke.

(I actually do not really care either way. I don't see it as a big deal)
As it should be imo.
Though I agree that golds should be tiebreaker. I never understood why a handful of people think that only Gold matters.
It doesn't take much funding to lift heavy rocks above your head. It figures they'd be good at it.Best Korea is beasting, dat weightlifting~
Gold isn't all that matters but these athletes aren't dedicating their lives to the pursuit of a runner-up medal. Golds are worth at least 5x as much as bronzes IMO.
China just pays more for training than everyone else and consequently locks people out of acquiring the best coaching talent. They've got that stuff locked down.So are people really serious about accusing the 15 year old girl from China of cheating because she was extremely fast?
Indeed.Edmond Dantès;40453675 said:And the track and field is yet to start.
Definitely.Of the events that haven't started, I am most excited for track cycling.
Eh. The premier athletes maybe. For some, who never expected to make it in the first place, a bronze is a huge deal and a massive accomplishment.
So are people really serious about accusing the 15 year old girl from China of cheating because she was extremely fast?

she wasn't just extremely fast, she was at times faster than a full grown man who won the gold. tell me this isn't a bit suspicious at least.
It is documented and an actual fact. They pay 4 times as much as Australia for example. You should see the anger of people, it's unbelievable.
