Because it's a fucked up idea that gives the kids more control over their parents than they already exercise?

If it's backed up with extra parental powers then it won't be a problem. Under the current situation where parents are powerless I agree it would be a disaster.

Parents need to be able to beat and discipline their children without the law intervening or the child threatening to go to the police. It makes parents feel absolutely powerless in their own homes against these cunts.

Basically, the law needs to be on the side of parents rather than children.

I refuse to believe that modern parents are fundamentally incapable of taking care of their offspring. If, however, that's proven to be the case, social services need to get busy. The power that children currently exert over teachers and parents needs revoking too.*

When we've finished guiltily sweeping this blame around the place, a good portion of it needs to land on the people responsible. That's the kids themselves and their parents. The social welfare programs might not have been perfect but there are plenty of people for whom they were sufficient.

*See the news clip from Manchester outside the shop. Fat Council Hag and her Chubby Little Offspring standing outside shop, FCH and CLO are gobbing off at the camera, shopowner comes out to give his tuppence and the kid turns to him and says "Move on mate, they're talking to us two, not you". Flashpoint. My dad would've clipped my ear and apologised to the shopkeeper directly for my conduct. He would then either point out that it was us being interviewed, or he'd give the shopkeeper room to air his grievances. FCH just joined in with her kid, berating the shop owner.

Fuck these shitty parents. They need dealing with.

Not sure if anything's occurring again or not, but looking out of the office window just now I've seen 15 armoured riot wagons and an undercover police car escorting an armoured forklift all just go hairing at full whack from the top of Charing Cross Road and up Tottenham Court Road.

Something is not entirely right!

It's pretty pathetic that so-called black community leaders seem to have been pretty quiet. The recurring phrase 'abdication of responsibility' keeps on keeping on.

My black ass thought Darcus Howe was full of shit and i didn't see anuthing of substance on the Voice's site shaming these fuckers. I was screaming at my monitor what the fuck are you doing. There might have been something in the paper but i ain't seen it. [\rant]

Do you have a link to that? I must have missed it.
Can't dig it up at work. Is interview outside a shop with smashed windows. Interviewer talking to bint and kid with shopkeeper standing in his doorway. At the end, the Council Hag says something along the lines of "It's the polices fault for shooting that bloke for no reason".

That woman and her sprog are perfect examples of how far we've fallen. No respect.

This is today's culture among the entitled underclass, no one can say anything about their little angels, not teachers, other parents or police. My mum had trouble on the bus once, these little shits were chucking stuff at each other and one of them threw a chicken bone at an old woman by accident. My mum told them to stop but then the mother of the shits started berating my mum about it, 'they ain't your kids, fuck off, don't say anything to my kids, fuck you'...

I was smacked on the arse as child, I learnt respect, and when I got smacked on the arse it was because I was being a little shit...learned never to cross that line (ok might have pushed it more with my mum, but you know what I mean)

the only time I would smack my kid if he was going to run out in the road or something serious to hurt himselves, But usually if I give him a strongly worded "No!!" then explain why he shouldn't do that to him it gets the message across,

I hate the way the chav Parent talk to their little ones

"shut you are getting on my fucking nerves"

or the little kid is asking a question about something relevant or they are interested in and it's "shup up" or "you are getting on my nerves" no wonder that generation is growing up like that...

I do agree on parental lessons, but attendance linked to benefits etc either one of you dont attend you dont get any money.

no extra incentives as that would send england into a frenzy..

See my dad never had to hit me, getting that "death" look or being yelled at was enough. Then again being a Drill Sargent for a spell in the USMC is a trait that helped that work better than others.

Then again my parents also respected me (and me in return). I never had a curfew officially set (besides the one when I had a junior drivers license), because I never gave my parents a reason to need one. In return I never wanted to do anything to lose that trust.

"you aint my dad you can't tell em what to do"

I responded with "no, but I am your uncle so you listen to me"

See that's another thing, I also respected my relatives (well the ones my parents did which was pretty much all). I know I'm going to want my daughter to treat something my mother-in-law, my sister, my brother-in-law, et al the same as if it was coming from me on being well behaved.

Aaaaaaand... 5 more riot wagons and 6 regular white paddy wagons have just gone past the same way with a further 5 Riot Wagons diverting the opposite way along New Oxford St, so that's now a total of:

25 Grey/Dark Blue(Met) Riot Wagons
6 Paddy's
1 Undercover
1 Armoured JCB Forklift

WTF!?!!

Methinks one or more of these looters has accidentally given up a much bigger fish.

But these are innocent revolutionaries, how can there be a bigger fish! The Proletariat is all one.

Kidding aside, that's a shit load of force for even a terrorism arrest, let alone domestic rioting.

...that's way too many to be a normal riot, unless you accidentally fluffed the numbers. Can you get a picture?

Just read on Twitter that they went up Camden Road. Don't know if that's true or not but would make sense if they were heading North up Tottenham Court Road.

Just got a message from my sister, she's on Noel St and she heard a massive number of police vans. Something is going down right now.

Can't really as they're all gone now... but both me and our cost auditor (who by definition is reasonably good with numbers) both came to the same count.

I'm confident I reported accurately, and we have a good view as we're 3 stories up directly above Tottenham Court Road station with a view along Oxfords St, at the corner of Tottenham Court Road and 3 sides of Centerpoint including the diversion at the top of Charing Cross Road from across the site (we're upgrading TCR tube station).

This is definitely accurate.

About what? My guess on what's happening? Not a clue, but they weren't hanging about! Some poor sod on a motorbike nearly had to mount the pavement as they were weaving across all 4 lanes of traffic to get to TCR.

No worries, I think I found it.

Fucking unbelievable. Scum.

And special bonus: King Chav.

Can we stop referring to this chav scum as the underclass.

I actually know plenty of well off middle class scum that dress like chavs, and would have no doubt gone out and looting with the rest of them. Bad parenting while prevalent among the lower class 'hence they're lower class', is quite apparent outside as well.

Shit anyone that's been to university in the UK would see behavior, not on the same level but in the same vein as these riots, every night.

A complete lack of respect, drunken idiots coming back from nights out, shouting out loud, breaking shit, getting violent etc etc. They don't care, police don't care, university security doesn't do shit. They do it because they get away with it.

This has nothing to do with community, nothing to do with class, nothing to do with current politics, nothing to do with inequality.

It's a total lack of consequences for your actions. Parents are too soft, policing is too soft, courts are too soft, jail is too soft. No one fears their actions anymore.

That's the one. Whether my parents agreed with my point or not, speaking to an adult like that would've resulted in my ears ringing. I'd give anything to have been that reporter because I'd have zero'ed in on that kids attitude immediately and asked the mother why she'd permitted such disrespect. Gobby bitch.

Great post, couldn't agree more.

Footballers are rich beyond most of our dreams, but they flout the law whenever they feel like it because they can buy there way out of trouble, they are also just as "chavy" as any council estate scum, fuck look at Rooney or the Bartons, same principal (no consequences).

Oh God, don't get me started. Whenever I see this in Sainsbury's etc. I just feel like grabbing the parent and shaking them.

I know, people say "you can't tell people how to raise their kids", but damn, sometimes it's hard to resist.

The school I went to was in an area that shared students between far Eastern Warrington and Salford.

It was a pretty decent school to be fair, there were a few chavvy kids but people generally got their heads down and did well. There certainly weren't any gang problems or problems of violence, I don't remember ever seeing a large playground fight in the 7 years I was there.

Can you remember the school's 5 A*-C percentage?
