You throw a load of money at a production team, and don’t maintain any kind of proper oversight. Amazon’s biggest creative problem is that it has zero financial problems. And everybody knows it. All the production tenders that went out probably went to the most expensive companies.

Just think, if this show was coming out in the early 80's we'd have snippets from the LOTR movie (let's just assume those films came out earlier as well) being repurposed for the TV show, lots of fight scenes made for the pilot that get reused throughout the show, and probably some grainy stock footage from the 50's of random guys running around waving swords taken from some B&W sword and sandals films.

That is an inexcusable shot given the budget. Who the fuck greenlit this shot, for the FIRST trailer no less!?!!? At least the most recent trailers look great but my god stuff like this hurts my brain. I could genuinely compose a better shot in my back yard during the winter.
